❤AFRODITA no es una novela ni tampoco un recetario. Pero en el encontraremos muchísimas historias, anécdotas, reflexiones, cuentos, recetas y otros afrodisíacos.
Toda una oda personal y un homenaje por parte de la autora, a los placeres de la comida y el sexo.

❤Isabel Allende como excelente narradora que es, mezcla anécdotas y recuerdos personales con leyendas históricas. Además de sucesos memorables de la literatura erótica. También nos informa sobre los apetitos lascivos de otros tiempos, desde el emperador Nerón a Catalina la Grande hasta la notoria Madame du Barry de Francia.

❤La autora ofrece sugerencias, tanto antiguas como modernas, para atraer a un amante, encender el ardor sexual, prolongar el acto sexual, reactivar la decadente virilidad, entre otras.

❤Es un libro sencillo y fácil de leer. Me lo leí casi todo, debo decir que obvié la última parte de las recetas.( porque no es algo que desconozca y ya se que estarán ahí por sí las necesito algún día)

❤Recomendado, si necesitas leer algo diferente.(yo lo necesitaba

Kind of interesting, kind of meh. Glad to get it off my #TBR but if I hadn’t had it both in print to poke through and #audio from the library to listen while walking, I’m not sure I would have finished it.

Bueno, es que no es un recetario recetario, es una mezcla peculiar de consejos, recetas, historias y dibujos.
El eje central del libro es el erotismo, y su fusión con la cocina, esa comida rica que deleita los sentidos y complementa al amor.
Viaja por culturas, anécdotas propias, prestadas; recetas que de solo leerlas se te antoja

كتاب تحكي فيه ايزابيل اللندي عن فلسفتها في الروائح والطبخ وأشياء شخصية آخرى، كثير من وصفات الطبخ في هذا الكتب أعتقد بأنه يناسب النساء المهتمات بالطبخ أكثر ومن يرغب بقراءة شيء عن ايزابيل

I really enjoyed Allende's exploration of the relationship between sensorial experience and intimacy, but I think Aphrodite's focus on eroticism actually hinders the book and reveals its shortcomings—there's an odd cultural fetishism at play here, and maybe that's a reflection of how old the text is, but much of this is "In this country, they eat THIS! Isn't that crazy and a lil gross?"

Even so, a few of these chapters made me want to go cook, and I can appreciate that.

Jag gillar Allendes sätt att skriva och att hon inte tar sig själv på stort alvar. Bara det är uppfriskande. Också kan man hitta många recept värda att testa och ta reda på intressanta fakta.

Lo leí entre novelas porque me pareció muy tedioso, lo compré porque lo abrí en la librería y me encontré el cuento “Muerte de perfume” y me llamó la atención. ¡Sorpresa! es el único cuento que hay en todo el libro.
La investigación me pareció floja, la manera de presentarla es tan cursi que no me la tomé en serio y las anécdotas desvían mucho la atención de cualquier tema del que la autora intenta hablar.
Soy un fan de la gastronomía pero este libro para nada me gustó, no se lo recomendaría a nadie.
No leí el recetario, pero no creo que sume mucho valor literario al resto del libro.

Isabel Allende is one of my most favorite writers. She is witty, sarcastic, wise and funny, her words are eloquent, her stories memorable.

Aphrodite was the first book I ever read by her and it was bought as a special treat for me many years ago, and now re-reading it I feel vilified that it was money well spent. After this book I was determined to find her other books and have become a great fan of her novels.

This particular book is nonfiction, a memoir of aphrodisiac foods, or the connection between food love and sex but it is so well written in her characteristic style that it emerges as more than just a manual on these foods and instead is a book to read and enjoy just for the sheer witticism and lyrically descriptive writing. I loved the funny little drawings of satyrs, nymphs and witches given in the book, they were totally adorable.

In China, there is a saying:the desire of food and sex is a part of human nature from Mencius. When I was reading this book, I indeed enjoyed those particular foods in the name of love. However, this book does not merely teach readers how to make love philters but also impart history and the most important thing is the sacrifice of women behind those coveted foods. Because in the past, people intended to have more children so as to expand the whole family, and those foods could stimulate men and women’s desire for sex. I saw the truth that women were just containers, for example, they applied honey on their bodies so that men could lick. Also, the treatments of animals were cruel and inhuman. All of those dark things were uncovered by this book about sex, the situation of women and the attitudes towards animals. So I just wonder why do people have such a deep obsession with reproduction?

أفروديات وشراهة!

تجربتي الأولى لقراءة عمل لإيزابيل ألليندي لكن لن أعتبره كذلك، فلن أقبل بخيبة كهذه.
لا يخلو الكتاب من جماليات أفروديتية إنسانية خالصة وأخرى فنية تمثلت في لوحات حالمة.
لكني حتماً لم يعجبني الربط بين الجنس والنهم في الطعام.
لعلي مخطئة في تقييمي وقد تكون نظرتي خالية من الخبرات الشاسعة التي تناولها الكتاب؛
لكن يعجبني أن لكل إنسان أفروديته الخاصة بل وهذا ما اتمناه حقاً، أفروديات لا تحوي وصفات تتمحور حول لوي عنق الحمام الزاجل ربما..
