So let's get this out of the way immediately - sexual assault is wrong and not justified, even if the object of your affection likes your best friend instead of you.

And it's not okay just because her crying stopped him from going all the way.

Overall, I've been a fan of this story in its various iterations, such as the K-drama, anime, etc. However, this volume has not aged well. It's extremely difficult to defend Domyoji at all, aside from his obvious emotional shortcomings.

It also bugs me that Tsukushi, who up to this point has been portrayed as a strong female, has to be denigrated in this fashion.

As a teenager, all of this was less disturbing because you focus more on the romanticism of a good girl taming a beast and giving him some self-awareness. But if this was real life, you'd hit him upside the head with a fire extinguisher before calling law enforcement.

It's good that it's fiction, because real relationships should never be this problematic, abusive, and bogged down in such obvious gender stereotypes.

No, Tsukasa...the boys will be boys defense didn't work, even back then.

That's really fast.

In the drama, it took so many episodes just for those scenes.

It seems that in real life, things can happen in a much shorter span of time compared to the drawn-out portrayal in the drama.

The drama often stretches out certain moments to build anticipation and add drama, but in reality, events may unfold rapidly.

Perhaps this is because the drama aims to tell a story in a more detailed and engaging way, while real life doesn't always follow such a structured pattern.

Nevertheless, it's interesting to note the contrast between the speed at which things happen in the drama and in real life.

It makes us wonder if the drama is an accurate reflection of reality or if it's just a fictionalized version that exaggerates certain aspects for entertainment purposes.

Either way, it's always fascinating to observe and compare the two.

Makino and Rui's relationship really confounds me.

How on earth could Makino have fallen in love with Rui? What exactly were the sweet gestures he made that made her heart race so quickly? Sure, he did rescue her from being bullied, but is that truly sufficient to make someone fall head over heels? I just can't fathom it.

Shizuka was far sweeter and did much kinder things for Makino than Rui ever did. If Shizuka weren't a girl, I might be able to understand if Makino had developed feelings for her. LOL.

Moreover, Doumyuji's feelings for Makino also left me desiring a better explanation. It felt rather lacking.

I really hope there is more depth and clarity added to these relationships in the story to help me better understand the complex web of emotions.

Maybe there are hidden aspects or subtleties that I'm simply not seeing at the moment.

I guess I'll have to keep reading to find out.

While there are indeed moments that I have truly relished in this series, I find myself feeling extremely cautious and skeptical about the overall storyline. At this present moment, I am completely at a loss as to how Domyoji can be rationalized or presented as a romantic hero. He has caused harm to another boy to the extent of serious injury. In a fit of anger, he has even struck a girl. What's more, he has made Tsukushi the victim of sexual assault not just once, but twice.

Although he does have some very endearing and sweet moments, I simply cannot overlook or excuse his violent behavior. I just can't bring myself to root for him. Unless the manga-ka makes a serious and concerted effort to reform him and have him offer a sincere apology for his abhorrent behavior without attempting to shift the blame onto others, especially Tsukushi who has been the victim of his bullying, I highly doubt that I will be able to endure many more volumes of this series. It really depends on whether the author can turn his character around in a believable and redemptive way.

The series is gradually beginning to feel like a bit of a drag on me.

Surprisingly, we actually get to witness the students of Eitoku behaving like ordinary people and having a good time.

I really relished the interactions that took place between Rui and Tsukushi.

Moreover, I am looking forward to seeing a more robust friendship develop between Tsukushi and Shizuka, who turned out to be completely different from what I had initially expected.

Domyoji, on the other hand, is in desperate need of prison time and likely requires therapy as well.

I truly hope that they don't end up together because there is no way to sugarcoat or romanticize that situation.

It would be a disservice to the story and the characters if such an outcome were to occur.

I'm eager to see how the plot unfolds and if the relationships between the characters will take a more positive turn.

Perhaps there will be some unexpected twists and turns that will rejuvenate my interest in the series.

2 stars. Oh dear God, no. This was truly terrible. Sexual assault is an extremely serious topic, and yet it is not treated with the respect and gravity it deserves in this series. That is completely unacceptable to me. Domyoji is a psychopath and is absolutely terrifying. With each volume, I am liking this series less and less. The thing about the anime and K-Drama adaptations is that at the very least, there were those emotions present. You could feel the pain and the intensity because they provided those moments and reactions. However, here everything is treated as if it's not something that can damage a person's psyche. And that's not okay. I've always felt that the B.o.F series was problematic, but this manga series is really highlighting just how much so.

My thoughts on this volume and the rest of the series are in my review for volume 1.

I have spent a significant amount of time delving into this series, and each volume has offered its own unique charm and challenges. The storylines are complex and engaging, drawing me in from the very first page.

This particular volume builds upon the foundation laid in the previous ones, adding new layers of depth and mystery. The characters continue to develop and evolve, making them even more relatable and endearing.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good read. Whether you're a fan of fantasy, mystery, or simply a well-written story, you're sure to find something to love in this series.

So, if you haven't already, be sure to check out my review for volume 1 to get a better understanding of my thoughts on the entire series.

Man, I initially thought that I could handle this, but in reality, I really can't.

You're actually telling me that her love interest is not only violent and abusive but also a rapist? How could that be?

And the excuse that he's only like this because he's sensitive just doesn't cut it for me.

The jokes in this story might have been good, but when considering the overall picture, there's no way, dude.

This kind of portrayal of a character is just unacceptable.

It sends the wrong message and makes me question the entire concept.

I don't think I can get behind a story that has such a disturbing and immoral central character.

Maybe there are other aspects that could have been explored instead of this one.

As it stands now, I'm very disappointed.

I have a unique stance when it comes to certain things.

I don't have a preference for either Rui or Tsukishi.

Maybe it's because their characteristics don't particularly resonate with me.

Rui might have his own set of qualities, but they don't manage to capture my interest.

Similarly, Tsukishi, despite whatever he has to offer, fails to make a significant impression on me.

I find myself in a neutral position, neither drawn to Rui nor Tsukishi.

It's not that I have anything against them; it's just that they don't fit into the category of things or people that I truly like or admire.

My lack of preference for them could be due to various reasons, perhaps a difference in personality, interests, or simply a matter of personal taste.

Whatever the case may be, for now, I remain impartial when it comes to Rui and Tsukishi.

Violence appears to be an underlying tone among these teens. It is the kind of violence that goes unchecked.

It is truly concerning to see this pattern emerging. The consequences of such unrestrained violence can be far-reaching and devastating.

I am hopeful that future books will address this lack of control. By shining a light on this issue, perhaps it can lead to greater awareness and understanding.

Authors could explore the root causes of this violence, such as family issues, peer pressure, or a lack of proper guidance. Through fictional or non-fictional accounts, they can offer possible solutions and strategies for dealing with this problem.

Maybe future books will inspire these teens to seek help and make positive changes in their lives. It is essential that we do not turn a blind eye to this issue but rather take proactive steps to address it.
