The pacing, despite being a one-shot, felt rushed, preventing me from fully immersing myself. However, that's about as far as my dislikes go. Japanese horror often adheres to the "show, don't tell" principle, and Ito incorporates this extremely well. Perhaps as a Westerner, I found myself a bit impatient with the story as I didn't develop the same level of suspense while reading. But the ending was truly marvelous, providing me with all the morbid satisfaction I could hope for.

Approval - This has to be my favorite story of the bunch. Reading it twice allowed me to notice all the little details that ultimately came together to form a cohesive and exciting whole. It's not scary in the traditional horror or gory sense, but it managed to evoke frustration and dread in a way that I haven't felt since reading 1984 (although the two stories are not similar).

Beehive - A peculiar story about a rather strange hobby. I saw the twist coming, but it was deeply satisfying to watch the main character figure it out. Now that I think about it, I actually like this story more than the first one, despite having opposite reactions to their endings. My rating for this story might be becoming a bit too emotional.

Dying Young - Supposedly, many people really liked this story, but it just didn't do it for me. The saying "Beauty dies young" holds true here, and I couldn't help but wait for the end of this vanity fair. Unfortunately, it ended up not being very memorable. It felt as if something was still missing, and the story was only halfway there.

Headless Sculptures - This chapter was an absolute wild ride. I should have seen it coming, but I didn't. The concept was both fascinating and disturbing, and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

Flesh-Colored Horror - A bizarre and grotesque finale to the volume. It was truly weird, but it effectively managed to bestow an unsettling feeling upon me as a reader.
