For those who have a preference for the holistic and natural approach to health,

I firmly believe that this book offers a remarkable insight into the power of water, what it can cure, and just how much we truly lack it in our daily lives.

It has truly opened my eyes to the inner workings of the healthcare industry and the reasons behind their aggressive promotion of prescriptions.

We often take water for granted, not realizing its crucial role in maintaining our well-being.

This book delves deep into the subject, presenting scientific evidence and real-life examples to support its claims.

It makes us question the traditional methods of treating illnesses and encourages us to look for more natural and sustainable solutions.

By understanding the importance of water, we can make simple yet significant changes to our lifestyle and improve our overall health.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in exploring the natural side of health and wants to gain a better understanding of how water can be a powerful tool in our pursuit of wellness.

Did not finish | Why do some authors attempt to force pseudo-science down our throats? They present evidence in a poor manner and claim that they've discovered the holy grail, and _their_ solution will cure the masses!

Omega 3s are often hailed as our lord and savior. But is this really the case?

We're all actually salt deprived, they say. However, is there any solid scientific basis for this assertion?

Water heals cancer! What the fuck! This is truly astonishing and makes one wonder about the credibility of such claims.

It's extremely worrying that people might read this and apply it without fact-checking. Potentially, this could lead to MORE harm being done. We need to be more discerning and critical when it comes to such extraordinary claims. We should always rely on scientific research and evidence rather than believing everything we read without question.

I discovered that this was truly beneficial in my recovery from ME.

It provided a great deal of explanation, and as a result, I now consume a significantly larger amount of water and have completely given up tea and coffee.

This change has indeed made a difference.

Interestingly, even the wrinkles on my face have become less prominent.

I am extremely grateful for this newfound knowledge and the positive impact it has had on my overall well-being.

It just goes to show that making simple yet significant lifestyle changes can have a profound effect on our health and appearance.

I would highly recommend this approach to anyone who is also dealing with ME or simply looking to improve their health.

Small steps can lead to big results, and in my case, it has been a game-changer.

A friend who wasn't a big water drinker read this and is now a believer that water cures everything.

I, on the other hand, being a big water drinker myself, felt compelled to read it as well. I was eager to see what new insights or revelations it might bring to light.

After reading it, I found it to be an interesting piece. However, I wasn't completely convinced by some of the claims made. While it did manage to pull together some interesting data and information, there were still some aspects that left me a bit skeptical.

Nevertheless, I have to admit that it is a good read overall. It makes you think about the importance of water and its potential effects on our health. It might not have convinced me 100%, but it definitely got me thinking and considering different perspectives.

Maybe with further research and studies, some of the claims in the article could be proven or disproven. But for now, it serves as an interesting starting point for a discussion on the role of water in our lives.

Despite his rather poor and frequently dull writing style, I have often found myself drawn to his books due to the valuable information they contain.

I have witnessed firsthand how proper hydration can have a significant impact on one's life. However, this particular book spends an inordinate amount of time complaining about how he has been "kept down by the man" in the medical community. As a result, it becomes easy to understand why some people might view him as a quack. The constant whining detracts from the importance of his message.

That being said, here is the general essence of his message. In today's culture, we simply do not consume enough plain water. We drink a plethora of other beverages, many of which, like soda, are diuretics, causing our bodies to become unintentionally dehydrated. This dehydration can manifest in various ways in different individuals, all of which are signals from the body indicating thirst. If we rehydrate properly, then many of these problems can resolve themselves without the need for medications.

Dehydration may present itself in some families as heartburn, headaches, arthritis, and so on. If left unchecked for an extended period, permanent damage can occur. Society often tells us that we should drink 64 ounces of water per day, but how many of us actually follow this advice? Dr. Batmanghelidj suggests drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. For example, a 200-pound person would need to consume 100 ounces of water. This amount should be gradually increased, and a small amount of salt should be added to replace the salts lost through increased urination. Personally, I found that as I increased my water intake, my body naturally craved a little extra salt.

So, this recommendation is essentially what doctors have been advising for years. It was when I was pregnant and suffering from severe migraines that two different physicians informed me that I was dehydrated and needed to drink significantly more water. The migraines promptly disappeared, and during my last pregnancy, I was able to prevent migraines by drinking water whenever I felt a headache coming on. Therefore, when I encountered this idea, I had already experienced evidence in myself of improved health.

If you are interested in this concept, I would recommend his book, For Health, for Healing, For Life, as it is a less whiny version. Although it will still be somewhat dry and at times overly technical in tone, I believe it presents his ideas in a more effective manner.

I purchased this book with the intention of motivating myself to increase my water intake.

Despite the fact that the book contains medical jargon, it did serve its purpose.

The book presents statements and claims regarding the effect of regulating water intake. These are supported by research and observations, mostly conducted by the author himself, as well as testimonial letters from various patients.

However, at certain points, these claims seemed rather difficult to believe.

Perhaps this is due to the deep-rooted nature of our attachment to conventional medicine.

The author is attempting to prove this paradigm wrong and bring about a change.

It will be interesting to see if the ideas presented in the book can indeed have a significant impact on our understanding and approach to maintaining good health through proper water intake.

Dr. Batmanghelidj is an Iranian medical doctor who is working in the US. He was once a political prisoner. During that difficult time, through the only means available to him, which was drinking water, he treated his fellow prisoners and by chance discovered the amazing healing properties of water.

This is an extremely important book as it elaborates in great detail the physiological effects of dehydration. In fact, I consider it so crucial that I have written three articles about water on my blog. The first one is "Water, ageing and disease", which can be found at https://healthfully.wordpress.com/2011/10/09/water-ageing-and-disease/. The second article is "Why we should drink water before meals", accessible at https://healthfully.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/why-we-should-drink-water-before-meals/. And the third one is "How much salt, how much water, and our amazing kidneys", available at https://healthfully.wordpress.com/2012/09/08/how-much-salt-how-much-water-and-our-amazing-kidneys/.

Although I personally find it very important to understand the reasons behind it, if you don't, then the essence is simple: drink plenty of pure water throughout the day and on an empty stomach. This simple act can have a significant impact on our health and well-being.

An interesting read, with a couple of interesting ideas. It really catches one's attention and makes them think. Although there are few more fierce proponents of water-drinking than myself, I thought a few of Mr. Batmanghelidj's ideas to be based on not quite substantial data. There could be some room for improvement in the research and evidence he presents. However, it still makes me glad that I drink hardly anything but water. Water is truly essential for our well-being, and I firmly believe in its benefits. Maybe Mr. Batmanghelidj's ideas will inspire further research and a better understanding of the importance of proper hydration. Overall, it's an article that引发了一些思考 and discussion.

Booktube Review: https://youtube.com/watch?v=yllWygGzu...

Since then, I have been closely monitoring my water and salt intake each day. It has become a crucial part of my daily routine. I am very conscious of how much water I drink and how much salt I consume.

Whenever I start to experience symptoms like headache and anxiety, I immediately reach for a glass of water. It's truly amazing how quickly I start to feel better. The simple act of hydrating myself seems to have a significant impact on my well-being.

I am so glad that I discovered the importance of proper water and salt intake. It has made a noticeable difference in my life, and I would highly recommend everyone to pay attention to these two aspects of their diet.

Here I will share my rather saucy review I wrote for class.

The "Big Idea" of this book, as the author quotes, is that “dehydration is the number one stressor to the human body.” This concept sets the tone for the entire discussion.

From this book, I learned several things about water and hydration. For instance, dry mouth is one of the last signs of dehydration, while the first signs are more profound and involve the weakening of important bodily functions. Chronic pains that are not easily attributed to injury should be considered a sign of water shortage in the area experiencing pain. Additionally, 75% of the weight of the upper body is supported by the water stored in the cores of the spinal discs, which is why dehydration can lead to back and neck pains.

However, I did find some aspects of the book contradictory to the philosophy of this class. The author recommends tap water, which I'm not entirely convinced is safe in today's age. He also refers to chlorine as tap water’s “greatest gift to us,” which I find quite laughable. Moreover, his recommendation of soy as a healthy alternative is something I strongly disagree with.

In my thoughts and comments about this book, while there is a lot of good information, there is also a significant amount that I don't agree with. The author's claim that drinking water with meals can fix bulimia is simply absurd. Bulimia is a mental illness, and while hydration is important, it cannot magically cure such a complex disorder. Additionally, the author touts water as a cure-all, which I believe is an overstatement. While good, clean water and hydration are indeed crucial for health, they cannot cancel out the damage caused by a poor diet.

My last complaint is the author's assertion that the symptoms of Breast Implant Illness could be caused by aspartame poisoning. This seems like a rather simplistic view, as both aspartame and breast implants are known to be harmful. The answer to this problem is not as straightforward as the author suggests.

Overall, this was a rather heated review, but I felt the need to express my honest opinions about the book.

Important health information that everyone would be wise to check out, especially before taking another pill. I was not aware and amazed at how crucial salt is for the healthy functioning of the body. In fact, I was firmly convinced that salt caused hypertension and should be eliminated from our diets. However, it turns out that salt has many hidden miracles and is of utmost importance to life. It was once so valuable that it was even traded with gold. Salt plays a vital role in maintaining proper fluid balance, nerve function, and muscle contraction. Without an adequate supply of salt, our bodies would not be able to function properly. It is essential to have a balanced understanding of salt and not simply demonize it. By being informed about the true role of salt in our bodies, we can make more informed decisions about our diet and overall health.
