Great book!

It is definitely a must-read for those who want to improve their health but don't know how water can be a powerful medicine in their lives despite being so cheap.

The book also contains numerous testimonials of people who suffered from various diseases like ulcers and benefited from water consumption.

Another highlight is the correct mindset regarding some people who think that sodas can be a good substitute for water. In reality, sodas don't contain the nutrients that water has and that the body needs.

As the author says on one page of the book:

``In advanced societies, thinking that tea, coffee, alcohol, and manufactured beverages are desirable substitutes for the purely natural water needs of the daily \\"stressed\\" body is an elementary but catastrophic mistake. It is true that these beverages contain water, but what else they contain are dehydrating agents. They get rid of the water they are dissolved in plus some more water from the reserves of the body! Today, we are dependent on all sorts of commercially manufactured beverages.``

The author also shares a personal experience:

``I had to leave the room, and when I returned in about fifteen minutes, his pain had become less severe and his groans stopped. I gave him another full glass of water—half a pint. In a few minutes, his pain disappeared completely and he started taking notice of the people around him. He sat up and began to move toward the wall of the room. With his back to the wall, he started to conduct conversations with his visitors who were now more surprised than he at the sudden transformation that three glasses of water had brought about! For 10 hours, this man had suffered from pain and taken the most potent and advanced medicines for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease without any relief. Now, three glasses of water had produced an obvious and absolute relief in about 20 minutes.``

This shows the amazing power of water and how important it is for our health.

This is a highly controversial book!

Medical advancements often struggle to persuade the AMA to support new information. However, I am firmly convinced that after reading this book, one will believe that a number of diseases are caused by chronic dehydration.

Here are some chapter titles and the diseases involved: Dyspeptic Pain, Colitis, Hiatus Hernia; Rheumatoid Arthritis, Back pain, Neck pain, Angina pain, Headaches; Stress and Depression; High Blood Pressure; Higher Blood Cholesterol; Asthma and Allergies; Insulin-Independent Diabetes; and some New Ideas on AIDS.

The final chapter also mentions sleep, fainting, the color of urine, the stupidity of a salt-free diet, and our responsibilities for our current health care system.

If you want to know more about this book, visit www.watercure.com.

This foreign-born doctor fled Iran after being released from prison. His life was saved because he treated prisoners while in prison himself. He has thoroughly documented his contacts with the head of the AMA and how they have done nothing to change our for-profit health care system. His letters date back to 1985 and several AMA Presidents. I can only guess why they have done nothing to change our system. And I doubt that our newly created system will change anything. I doubt the government will force any changes because of how much our representatives receive from their lobby.

Your only choice is to believe the author, value his information, and use your logic to figure out if your health concerns may be related to dehydration. Buy the book and find out what your doctor is not telling you.

I've also drawn some additional conclusions. Some early childhood ailments may be related to chemicals in our home that affect brain growth in infants. Breathing is all that is needed to alter the brain chemistry of a growing newborn. If you have these chemicals in use in your home, then I suggest you find a less toxic way of cleaning. Another factor may be how air-tight new homes have become. Less air interchange means higher levels of these chemicals staying in your home.

Also, keep in mind that the longer you wait to improve your health, the more likely it is that your body will not be able to return to health, making your health condition permanent. There are many systems involved with water, including your hormones, endocrine system, and nervous system.

The author's advice is simple: drink 8 ounces of water 30 minutes before every meal and 16 ounces about 90 minutes after. Some problems are solved immediately, like heartburn. While other problems can take up to a month. Many letters comment on how quickly their problem was resolved by following his advice. And many endorsement letters are included in the book. One caution is in order: if you are taking any medication, get your doctor on board so s/he can monitor your condition! Once they see that your condition has improved, you will have done your due diligence in changing how our medical care system works!

Right now, the education of our doctors is completely lacking. They do not teach anything about how water affects all systems and how many ailments can be traced to a lack of water. Why is this the case? Because our for-profit system is beholden to the pharmaceutical industry! For those who live outside the United States, your education system is more open to new ideas. I hope this book will improve your health and influence your doctor. This book was published in 1992, and the AMA's insistence on pursuing money over quality health care needs to end! I hope that foreign scientific study will verify the veracity of the information in this book. The sooner this happens, the better our world health will become!

This book is an absolute must-read. It was written in 1992, and I've noticed that a significant number of the complaints in the comments below pertain to the research being from the 1980s. However, I firmly believe this is entirely normal.

The book delves into the crucial importance of water in the body. It emphasizes that water should be consumed in a balanced manner with salt and potassium, specifically making reference to the sodium potassium pump within our cells.

What truly struck me as I was reading it was the simplicity of the advice it offers. It guides people to give a free solution a try. From both a scientific perspective and based on anecdotal evidence, this solution appears to yield numerous benefits.

As someone who has managed to survive for approximately two decades mainly on tea and coffee, and would only drink a glass of water very rarely, I found this book to be incredibly motivating. It inspired me to give water a genuine chance! I am now consuming 2 liters of water per day, along with salt. After just one week, I've noticed remarkable improvements in my skin and a reduction in wrinkles. This is far more cost-effective than any of the anti-wrinkle creams I had previously been spending a fortune on! I'm not sure what other results I will see within a month or a year, but as it's a free option, I'm highly encouraged to continue and find out what happens.

Ever since I discovered, decades ago, that drinking water cures my headaches, I've had a great respect for water.

That respect was further enhanced when, as a physics graduate student, I delved into the study of biochemical molecules. I became acutely aware of the incredible supporting role that water plays in biochemical processes. It influences the shape of molecules, yet it is often overlooked. Water is always there, quietly doing its job, even though it is never explicitly mentioned.

So, when I came across this book, I was more than ready to pay attention. And I'm truly glad that I did. I have noticed that when I drink water as the author suggests, I feel much better.

I have no idea how valid these ideas are from a scientific perspective. However, since drinking water is a simple and healthy thing to do, there is no harm in anyone giving the recommendations a try for themselves. If it works, then you've gained a great deal. And if it doesn't work, you haven't really lost anything... except maybe a few pounds.

Overall, I believe that this book has provided some interesting insights into the importance of water, and I would encourage others to give it a read and see if it works for them.

Okay. Here we go because I have THOUGHTS.

The premise that Americans don't drink enough water and that many illnesses would be nonexistent if we did, and that we jump to misdiagnoses without ruling out dehydration first, is fine for mild pain symptoms like headaches and stomach discomfort. I won't argue that most people, including myself, don't drink enough water.

I'll also preface that this doctor developed his ideas while serving a prison sentence in Iran and treating prisoners. This may be related to a western vs eastern medicine issue, and the "science" is very old as most of the "studies" he refers to are from the 1980s.

Alright - the first issue isn't content-related but structural. This book is all over the place. He'd talk about something for a paragraph and then abandon it to talk about something else that might be related but was written so poorly that I couldn't understand the connection. His diagrams are worse than any I've seen in a textbook and don't prove his point. While he may describe the body's workings well enough, it's twisted to fit his claims and just doesn't make sense. I had a hard time getting through this book not just because of the content but because I couldn't follow his train of thought.

The content issue - I'm not sure where he first lost me, but it might be around where he says bulimia can be cured by drinking more water or where the scientific proof was related to someone who self-diagnosed and used chelation therapy. The author's "proof" is in the form of letters from patients who supposedly stopped treatment and just started drinking more water.

A specific example I can't get past is where a patient had excruciating abdominal discomfort for 12 hours and was in the hospital. He asked what the patient had tried, and the patient said a whole bottle of antacids and 3 prescription pills. He then defended how increasing water intake made the pain go away, arguing that water could help when the issue was the patient taking too many meds. How can you make a scientific claim about water helping when the problem was the patient's overmedication?

I could go on and chat more about my specific issues (like dehydration being the number one killer in America, sunlight reducing cholesterol, salt preventing depression, rheumatoid joint pain being just dehydration), but I'm already too worked up and this review is too long. In short, don't read the damn book.

Being well hydrated offers numerous benefits for one's energy management and overall health. It helps to reduce stress levels and enhance various bodily functions. When a person is properly hydrated, they are more likely to feel calm and composed, which in turn can contribute to better poise and performance in different aspects of life.

Moreover, the water level in one's body has a significant impact on phonation, or vocal expression. Adequate hydration ensures that the vocal cords function optimally, resulting in a clear and strong voice. This is especially important for individuals who rely on their voices for communication, such as public speakers, singers, and teachers.

In conclusion, maintaining proper hydration is essential for both physical and mental well-being. By drinking enough water regularly, we can improve our energy levels, reduce stress, and enhance our vocal expression. So, make sure to stay hydrated and enjoy the many benefits that come with it!

I came across a book that I found to be extremely informative. However, I also noticed that it was a little lacking in the instructional department.

So much of the content was dedicated to explaining the "how" aspect, while only a minimal amount was spent on providing clear directions.

Despite this drawback, the book did have a positive impact on me. It helped me to become more attuned to my body's signals.

As a result, I am now drinking more water, which is great for my overall health.

I believe that if the author had included more detailed instructions, the book would have been even more useful.

Nonetheless, I still found it to be a valuable resource and would recommend it to others who are interested in learning more about health and wellness.

The article was indeed informative and interesting.

However, it was a bit too medical for my taste.

I found myself getting lost in the jargon and technical terms.

It would have been great if the author could have simplified some of the complex concepts and used more layman's terms.

This would have made the article more accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience.

Despite this, I still managed to learn a few things from the article.

The information presented was valuable and well-researched.

Overall, it was a good read, but it could have been even better with a bit more clarity and simplicity.

I would recommend this article to those who have a basic understanding of medical terminology and are interested in learning more about the subject.

For those who are not as familiar with the medical field, it might be a bit of a challenge to fully understand.

Nonetheless, it is definitely worth a try.

If you are in need of motivation to drink more water, then this book is sure to inspire you. According to the book, nearly every function of the body is closely monitored and depends on the efficient flow of water through our system. Water plays a crucial role in transporting hormones, chemical messengers, and nutrients to the vital organs of the body.

When we do not keep our bodies well hydrated, they may send out various signals. Some of these signals might be ones that we would never think are related to our poor drinking habits.

Medical research has clearly shown that regular water intake can help eliminate dyspeptic pains such as gastritis, duodenitis, and heartburn. Without delving into the technical and detailed aspects of digestion, it is important to know that our bodies utilize many hormones, enzymes, and neurotransmitters to complete the digestion process. Without sufficient water intake, the pancreas becomes less efficient, the acids in the stomach are not properly neutralized, and the functions of the intestine are inhibited. Over an extended period, this can lead to problems like constipation, colitis pain, false appendicitis pain, and even hiatus hernia.

Water intake is also of great importance for weight loss. It is not only necessary for proper digestion but also helps prevent overeating. The sensations of thirst and hunger are generated simultaneously to indicate the brain's needs. If you are not getting enough water, you are likely to eat more in an attempt to satisfy your body's urge for water. However, when you feel hungry and choose to drink water instead, you may discover that you are not as hungry as you initially thought.

It is essential not to confuse water consumption with fluid consumption in general. Sodas and coffee are not acceptable substitutes for water. In fact, if you are drinking sodas and coffee, you actually need to consume even more water. Caffeine, which is one of the main components of most sodas, causes increased urine production and acts as a dehydrating agent. This is why you can drink sodas all day long and still never feel satisfied, as the water does not remain in the body for a sufficient amount of time. Additionally, you may mistakenly believe that you have consumed enough "water" by drinking soda. When your body cries out for thirst, you are likely to overfeed it with food instead.

The human body is composed of 75% water and 25% solid matter. To function at its best, your body needs to stay well hydrated. Not only will your body function more efficiently, but you may also avoid many health problems. Increased water consumption has been shown to be beneficial in relieving migraine headaches, high blood cholesterol, rheumatoid arthritis pain, allergies, and high blood pressure. Moreover, since your brain tissue is 85% water, your brain functions rely heavily on an ample supply of water. Studies have demonstrated that with prolonged dehydration, brain cells actually begin to shrink.

The book also presents some interesting ideas regarding AIDS and the HIV virus. However, it would not be fair to attempt a summary of these complex topics.

I truly desired to assign a higher rating to this book. The reason being that I firmly believe the idea and concept it presents are extremely profound.

However, when it comes to the actual organization and writing of the book, it is a little challenging to follow.

I have the utmost respect for this man's extensive scientific knowledge regarding the human body.

Nevertheless, for an average reader like myself, it was a bit difficult to fully comprehend.

Moreover, I also yearned for more concrete advice on how to apply this knowledge in practical situations.

It would have been beneficial if the author could have presented more specific examples and step-by-step guidance to help readers better understand and implement the concepts discussed in the book.

Despite these drawbacks, the book still contains valuable information that is worth exploring for those interested in the subject matter.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I had the pleasure of listening to it, and let me tell you, the audio was truly awesome.

Basically, it delves into the importance of water. Yes, we ALL know that water is good for us, and most of us are quite aware that we're not drinking enough of it (and I'm not talking about just any liquids, but specifically water).

But this book really drives home why it's so crucial. Our body is made up of 75% water, and yet we hardly pay any attention to that fact.

The doctor in the book covers various aspects such as the importance of water, how it affects our different systems. He also includes letters from people and patients who have tried his water protocol.

Moreover, he explores why the medical field doesn't seem to want to acknowledge this simple solution to so many problems and illnesses. It's truly eye-opening and makes you realize just how important it is to stay hydrated.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about the significance of water for our overall health and well-being.

Interesting information to consider. I firmly believe that, generally speaking, we are dehydrated. In fact, increasing our water intake is indeed a healthy decision. However, the claim that ALL cancer is the result of a lack of salt in the body makes me a little wary of other statements in the book. It seems rather extreme and one-sided. Cancer is a complex disease with multiple causes and factors involved. Reducing it to just a single deficiency of salt oversimplifies the matter. While salt is an important nutrient, it is unlikely to be the sole determinant of cancer development. There are numerous other aspects such as genetics, lifestyle, environmental factors, and immune system function that play crucial roles. Therefore, we should approach such bold claims with a healthy dose of skepticism and further investigation.
