Well written, some very funny stuff along with the not so funny. An enjoyable read. Strongest point is the insider view of the horsey world. Weakest is the Speed storyline, which turns a bit bizarre.

This book had me laughing out loud at times and sympathizing with the main character almost all the time. What a pleasure to read a book about working with horses by an author that actually knows what she is talking about. It is always disconcerting to be reading a book that purports to know the horse scene and find something totally off track in it. This book doesn't do that to you. I have been in many of the situations that Judy finds herself in (horse establishing a pecking order, foal watch, being dumped by a spooky animal, etc....) and all of her descriptions ring true. Definitely worth reading if you are a horse person and also if you are not. Relationships are always so hard to figure out, no matter what situation you are in.

I picked up this book for $1 from the thrift shop, but had seen it recommended by goodreads for me before. This book is well written, cute, quirky, and I love the accents! It's definitely what would call 'woman's fiction', where the protagonist is striving to find herself now that she had escaped a poor relationship. Except that this time we have horses and terriers... lots of terriers... It was a cute quick read that I think any female horse enthusiast would get a good chuckle at it. My only negative comment was the ending, which seemed to happen too quickly, albeit, also had some cutsie humor to it.

Life after leaving a lousy marriage, learning to ride horses well, taking risks, cleaning horse barns and all other stinky materials related to horses - just a great warm, friendly and very, very funny novel. If you have an fondness for horses, riding and honesty in relationships and are a straight talker, then take a chance on this novel. I loved it.

A classic chick-lit novel with horses thrown in. Ms. Singer has a rollicking writing style and good comedic timing and rhythm. It was an enjoyable book, great light reading for a summer afternoon.

This is the first book I've read by Judy Singer. I loved it. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt in one scene in the book (won't say what...don't want to spoil it for someone). Being a horse lover and owner/breeder I was able to relate to the crazy things that occur with these women involving their equines. Lol, definitely a good book to read. I couldn't put it down and liked so much I bought it in hardback. Interested in reading more of her books and hope they are as good and entertaining as this one!!!

Good mindless read in the chick-lit category. I think I read it in 3 days. Good summer read.

This was a very good read. I enjoyed the storyline. I laughed out loud more then once. Judy and her friends at the horse farm were very funny. I am glad that the book ended with all of them happy.

I read this a few years back for a book club. It was a light read and fairly entertaining. Something to read pool side

Typical chick novel. There wasn't much thought given to potential male readers. It got so dreary that I couldn't finish the last four pages. Would not recommend.

I will read everything this author writes. I have never laughed so much at a well written book. Ellen's book was funny but had absolutely nothing but tangents within. This book has a good story and a barrel of laughs. This is a definite good read.
