In the end I have to rate this 1 star. There is a scene about a third of the way into the book about a man getting sexual gratification out of breeding horses. It was so creepy, and completely unnecessary. Then near the end there is a scene where a man is drunk, and sleeping naked in a bed. Several women hatch a plan to go into the room, and take the sheet off of him to see his penis. Luckily, they fail, but all I could think of is how differently the reaction would have been if the genders were reversed.
With that out of the way...I actually really enjoyed about the first half of this book (Minus the creepy scene). It had some good humor, and was quite focused on the horses and the daily activities of the farm. You definitely should be familiar with horses, or else you are not going to understand quite a few terms they use. This book dips into being a romance, which isn't really my thing, but it was alright in the beginning.
Then things just get weird. All of a sudden the love interest is taking her to a cult meeting where they are in robes and chanting. Later on this cult gets naked and dances around a horse....ok. She drops this dude, gets with another guy pretty quick, and a few pages later she is in love and engaged. They move quick apparently.
After the cult is revealed, the book just gets boring. (Where do you go from there, really?) If you're involved with the horse world at all it's also a bit frustrating to see a character portrayed as being able to learn Grand Prix level dressage moves in a month when she's starting at training level. Everything just seems to fall into place for the main character, but then it turns out that she's rich anyway. lol
