This book was unlike other horse books. It was a little confusing sometimes, like when Judy's husband was accidentally killed. The way it happened changed many times and I'm not sure if it was purposefully or not. It was kind of corny throughout the book, but it was okay.
An entertaining chick-lit book about a woman who leaves her husband and her life to start over on a horse farm. There, she shares an apartment with three other women and works exhaustingly long hours in a horse barn--and loves every minute of it.
I can't remember a book that made me laugh out loud as much as this one. The author has captured the quirkiness of the horse world with its gurus, divas and wannabes. There is little anthropomorphizing the animals, which is something that turns me off most horse fiction. An entertaining and easy read.
This novel is about a middle-aged woman who does a do-over with her life (or as she calls it a "second waffle"). She leaves her husband of 8 years and her job and travels to Georgia to become a working student for an Olympic dressage trainer who speaks with a strong German accent. The story involves some fascinating characters - the other barn employees, boarders, and others in the horse world. But it's really less about dressage or horses, than it is a chick flick about romance and drama in relationships. That's ok because it's still a fun read and has some great lines which are sure to make you laugh!
seriously, ladies, this is chick lit at its best. a woman turns to the competitive world of equestrian sports when her husband cheats on her. the dialogue isn't witty, but it definitely has a flow and humor to it. it's perfect for a vacation when you want to divert your attention but don't really want to overthink anything.
