Dover Publications, also known as Dover Books is an American book publisher founded in 1941 by Hayward Cirker and his wife, Blanche. It publishes primarily reissues, books no longer published by their original publishers. These are often, but not always, books in the public domain. The original published editions may be scarce or historically significant. Dover republishes these books making them available at a significantly reduced cost.

Dover is well known for its reprints of classic works of literature, classical sheet music and of public-domain images from the 18th and 19th centuries. Dover also publishes an extensive collection of mathematical, scientific and engineering texts. It often targets its reprints at a niche market such as wood working.

Most Dover reprints are facsimiles by photo process of the originals, retaining the original pagination and typeset, sometimes with a new introduction. Dover will usually add new and more colorful cover art to its paper-bound editions. They retitle some books to make them more in line with modern usage and categorization. For example, the book Woodward's National Architect was retitled A Victorian Housebuilder's Guide.

Short common phrases clearly translated from one language to another and then reversed. Very Helpful. I think clarity is the best description.

For my upcoming vacation to Barcelona I wanted a book that was going to give me a "refresher" in Spanish. As a life long student of the language, I have always been able to speak semi-decent "Spanglish." With well over 770 easy and memorable phrases, this book helped me piece together so key phrases during my trip that allowed me to communicate effectively.

This book is broken down into many subsections from "breakfast foods" to other categories like "at the restaurant." But throughout this phrase book a consistent theme was very prevalent: "Learn these 770 words/phrases and you will be able to get by with communicating in a Spanish speaking environment!"

If you are interested in a much deeper study of the Spanish language, this isn't the book for you. But if you are interested in learning a quick list of phrases and words that will help you communicate, THIS IS YOUR BOOK!

Good little book for those who are already familiar with Spanish grammar and need to learn/remember a lot of vocabulary. I picked this up for my husband, who knows French and Italian and a smattering of Spanish. It was a nice way to review important words and phrases that one might need on a trip or for everyday conversations. There is a grammar section at the back that is also helpful in reviewing the basics.
