I picked this book up at a book sale simply because of the title. I mean, could you really have a better title?! I was immediately taken with the story telling and the candid back history of the main characters. I came to really feel as if I was apart of the ladies' families. I also loved this book simply because the dialogue was soooo funny and witty!! I was laughing on the first page... how many times does that truly happen?!

Laugh out loud funny

I'm recovering from knee replacement and believe me laughs are far and few between. I downloaded this book and started laughing out loud. My husband thought I was nuts. Laugh, cry and enjoy this book

I was so disapointed to find that Barns and Nobles classify these books in Romance! Oh well I love them and they are not you typical "romance" books. They are over the top and so unrealsitic but who cares! They are fun!

Another book that was just OK for me...wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but you could read it as filler.

This comic romance-mystery set in Texas features hair stylist Debbie Sue Overstreet who clashes with her ex husband and sheriff Buddy. Debbie Sue’s salon, the Styling Station, is in a converted gas station that she received as part of a divorce settlement. Southern fried, laugh out loud humor is served up in this debut novel.

This was the first time I have read anything by Dixie Cash - recommended by a friend - and let me just say .... I can't wait to read more!!! This book was so fun to read & I absolutely LOVED the main characters. The secondary characters only made the story better :) I bought the second book for my kindle before I even finished the first!! I can't wait to see what happens next - with this group of folks I'm guessing it could be anything!! haha! I would recommend this book (this series) to anyone who likes a mix of Romance, Mystery & Comedy!!

Absolutely hit the spot!

When all was said and done it ended just the way you'd want it to. It was a tad convoluted and went on in strange ways, but that kept you guessing for the most part. The bull riding and such was a bit much for my taste, but Edwina and Debbie Sue really get into crazy situations. Some of their sayings were hysterical, and the dinner scenes with Quint were just nuts. Made me laugh and I was happy with the ending. Good enough. I have the rest of the series so I may continue.

I have been looking for this book for many years. Thanks to the wonderful people on reddit, I was able to find it. I enjoyed it. Buddy and Debbie Sue are in love with each other even though they are divorced. The whole time you are rooting for them to get back together. I wish we were able to see more of the conversation between Buddy and Debbie Sue about his past relationship. That part seemed a bit rushed. Overall, I still liked the book. If you love murder mysteries and romance together, read this book.

A comical, easy read...

I'd give this 3.5 stars. It was a bit difficult to get into until I was about halfway through. It was a decent book to read while I was waiting for a book to arrive that I really wanted to read. There were funny parts at times, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it to others.
