Ova knjiga na jedan sasvim drugaciji nacin govori o Isusu. Kroz vidjenje ljudi koji su dosli u kontakt s njim, daje nam jednu sasvim drugaciju sliku Isusa kao Sina covjecjeg, a ne samo kao sina Bozjeg. Zanimljivo je i to da citajuci ovog pisca, uvijek nesto naucim. On jednostavno zna prenijeti na papir rijeci koje makar bile i beznacajne, male cine ono o cemu mozemo jos dugo razmisljati. Gibrana volim zbog svih onih recenica koje s pravom mogu biti citati sami za sebe. Postoji takodjer i "ono nesto" po cemu se on razlikuje od ostalih pisaca, a to je da sva ona uzvisena stanja i osjecaji kod njega bivaju jos uzviseniji i plemenitiji. Bez sumnje migu reci da me ni ovaj puta nije razocarao.

Jesus, the son of Man was first book I read from Kahlil Gibran. In this book we seek to gink Jesus in words of men, women, friends, and enemies.
This book is beautifully written; like you were reading a poem. While reading it, my heart filled with peace and love, and my eyes with tear of quest. I could see Jesus in my mind as clear as in real world. That was divinely beautiful experience.

I don't typically review books, but I felt I should offer something to this work of art.

Though it doesn't always line up with what the actual scripture says, it is incredible to read even fictional and postulated accounts of those who interacted with Jesus. Gibran does very well in showing three different peoples in regards to their view on Jesus of Nazareth: those who were committed to him, those who hated him and those who were indifferent.

Gibran's poetic voice is incredible, and even if fictitious, in the account of "Rachel a woman disciple" I find some of the most beautiful words that describe the Jesus that I believe in.

"He was a mountain burning in the night, yet he was a soft glow behind the hills. He was a tempest in the sky, yet he was a murmur in the mist of daybreak.

He was a torrent pouring from the heights to the plains to destroy all things in its path. And he was like the laughter of children."

"Jesus Himself was the Great Event."

I love Gibran's words and this book is definitely a keeper.

عبقري جبران ....الكتاب عبارة عن مجموعة من الحكايات التي يرويها على لسان كل من كان له اختلاط من قريب او بعيد بالمسيح ...... استطاع بجدارة أن يكتب وجهات نظر مختلفة عنه
مثلا كتب عن المسيح من وجهة نظر تلاميذه و المقربين منه و هذه ليست بالمعضلة , المعضلة الحقيقة و التي يستطيع بسهولة كل من يتأمل العمل أن يحترم جبران و يكن له كل الاعجاب من أجلها هي أنه استطاع أن يكتب و يروي حكايات عن المسيح من وجهات نظر معادية له و لتعاليمه
ليس هذا فحسب ..استطاع جبران ايضًا اظهار عظمة يسوع من وجهة نظر الحصم الذي قتله مثلما فعل في جزء "قيافا رئيس الكهنة "
استطاع أن يمزج كلامه و تعاليمه مع فكره الخاص بطريقة محببة تجذب القارئ
كما أن أسلوب القصص القصيرة الذي اتبعه جبران و التي مزج فيها بين الفلسفة و الشعور نجح بجدارة في الارتقاء بالفكر و الشعور أثناء قراءة الكتاب .........هو ليس بكتاب ديني هو تحفة أدبية فلسفية تستحق كل التقدير و الاحترام :)

باختصار شديد
فكرة الكتاب مبدعة وحلوة جدا .. فكرة الحقيقة التايهة بين وجهات النظر والمرجعيات الثقافية حوالين
حقيقة شخصية يسوع التاريخى المثيرة والمحيرة بطبيعتها ...
كنت متوقع انبهر .. وانبهرت بس باجزاء قليلة جدا من الكتاب في شخصيات عظيمة وحلوة واغلب الشخصيات محستهاش خالص ومليت في اكتر من مرة
كتير كنت بمل من الاستعارات و التشبيهات ..المبالغ فيها من ناحية العدد و بدون داعي
كنت متوقع اكتر من كده بكتير من كاتب زي جبران
بس مش هظلمه وهقراله كتاب مش مترجم
يمكن المشكلة في الترجمة

حتى هذه اللحظة لا أنسى النشوة التي غمرتني أثناء القراءة الأولى لسفر جبران عن الإنسانية المقدسة

إن يسوع جبران أو نبيه المصطفى في كتابه النبي
شخصياته النورانية التي توحي بطهر ملائكي
هؤلاء الناس الجميلون الذي يخلقهم على الورق حتى لتحبهم بكل خطاياهم

ذلك كله ينصهر في حروف ألقها لا يضاهى
ومعان أسمى من محاولة التعبير عنها
جبران يا جبران
أأجسر حقا عن الحديث عنك
؟

طوبى لهؤلاء الذين صفت أرواحهم وطوبى للذين لايبيتون أسرى مايملكون
لأنهم سوف يضحون أحرارا
وطوبى لمن يذكرون أتراحهم
وفى أتراحهم يرقبون أفراحهم
وطوبى للذين يتضورون جوعا ينشدون الحق والجمال
فسيكون لهم من جوعهم الخبز الذى يأكلون
ومن ظمئهم الماء القراح الذى يشربون
وطوبى لذوى الكرم والحلم
لهم من كرمهم وحلمهم خير عزاء وسلوى
وطوبى للذين قد طهرت قلوبهم
لأنهم لن يكونوا بعيدا من الله
وطوبى للرحماء لأن الرحمة ستكون جزاءهم

One of the most powerful books I had ever read about Jesus, It shows the unique human side of Jesus, he is simple he is humble he can get sad or angry , having fun , he beloved from some people and hated by others .

He is honest , tender, zealot , beautiful, female chauvinist, smart ... this book although there are some differences from the biblical version , it makes Jesus more close to people and to me as a reader, this experience that I couldn't find or feel in the Holy Bible itself .

To be honest it will be my first Holy Book I ever had , for me a holy book is the book that has the ability to touch my deepest chamber of my heart and this book really touched me so profoundly , I will not forget this book and how it made me cry a farewell tears at the end of it.

Immensely So highly recommended to read and to re-read many times to understand Jesus as the son of man because through him you gonna understand Jesus the son of god and humanity .

Love you Gibran and thank you for this masterpiece that you gave it to humanity :) R.I.P

It is all too easy for people to mistake Khalil Gibran for a non-Christian; British book-stores place his books in the Islam section. He appears to have been a Maronite Orthodox Christian.

And that gives him excellent insight into the life of Christ, from the perspectives of his contemporaries, friend and foe, because of the preserved tradition of that old church. The figure in this book matches the Gospel figure to a greater extent than the Jesus-loves-you-just-as-you-are images that we hear too much of today.

There is a grave temptation to look at the Christ-figure and see what you WANT to see, to see yourself. Then, when you go to the Gospel, you find an awe-inspiring figure who does loves the individual, but probably not just the way he or she is. Because his message, always, was 'Repent'. Mr. Gibran uses similar language to Biblical and early Christian writings, portraying the God-man as the Apostles may quite plausibly have seen him.

Here is something memorable in the book from Christ to Mary Magdalene, whom Mr. Gibran describes as a reformed prostitute:

'I love you in yourself. Other men see a beauty in you that shall fade away sooner than their own years...all men love you for themselves. I love you for yourself.'

إن كان لكل دين خلق ...فخلق رسالة عيسى هي المحبة ...

يسوع جبران وجهه جميل ونبيل، يعلوه غطاء لطيف من الشحوب النامّ عن شفقة ممسكة بالقلب لا عن أسى رابض في النفس. في فمه الحساس صلابة تفهم اللين فلا تجرح، ورفعة تفهم ذاتها فلا تتضع، وفي أنفه رقة الشعر ودقة الفن واتساق الهندسة. أما عيناه فتنظران إلى أبعد مما تبصران. فيهما رهبة الوحي دون طمأنينته، واليقين بالنصر دون النصر، ووحدة لا تلطفها المحبة، وعزلة لا يؤنسها نورها. في حاجبيه تقطب خفي كأنه يجهد فكره للوصول إلى سر عميق، وكأنه بلغ عتبة ذلك السر، اما بابه فلا يزال موصداً في وجهه. في جبينه الواسع العالي إباء وعظمة، وفي شعره الناعم المرتد على جبينه وصدغيه والمسترسل فوق كتفيه طهارة لا تعرف الدنس. هو وجه معانيه كثيرة وأظهرها إرادة تحاول أن تتغلب على ذاتها أو أن تستر ضعفها ريثما يتم لها النصر.

I don't know how many times I've read this book. Maybe more than 10 times since the first time I read it in 2008, when I was still in college. Still, the book keeps me amazed until now. The words are beautifully crafted and it has strong power to depict My Lord, Jesus, from many views: beggar, His disciple, The Pharisees, a young shepherd, prostitute, His grandma, a bride, and many others.

I always cry when reading story of Rafka, the bride from Kana, where Jesus did his first miracle: changing water into wine. Also the story of young shepherd who was very sad because one of his sheeps was lost. Jesus asked him, when He knew it, He searched for the sheep for a while. Then Jesus made the shepherd smile and speechless when He brought back the sheep. I just can clearly imagine the shepherd and his sheep staring at Jesus, speechless.

Well, even most of the stories are fiction, I still suggest you to read it. I hope you feel the way I do. God bless you ^_^

Leonardo Da Vinci dan Michaelangelo Buonarroti adalah inspirator ku di bidang seni rupa, baik patung atau lukisan. Mozart dan Beethoven sampai kepada Metallica adalah manusia-manusia yang menjadi motivator ku untuk musik. Sedang Khalil Gibran adalah si jenius yang menggugah ku buat menulis...Tapi sih kalo yang ini aku emang belum membacanya.!!! hehe..nanti deh aku membeli terus membacanya ya.? ^_____^
