Erinnert mich etwas an den Film Schindlers Liste, nur dass es hier um die Kinder geht. Im Mittelpunkt der Geschichte, steht der kleine jüdische Joseph(Noah) , der aufgrund der Nazis, seine Eltern für ein paar Jahre verlässt und in ein katholisches Internat seine Zeit verbringen muss.....

Très joli roman. J'apprécie de plus en plus le style d'Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt.

La religion juive insiste sur le respect, la chrétienne sur l'amour. Or je m'interroge : le respect n'est-il pas plus fondamental que l'amour ? Et plus réalisable aussi... Aimer mon ennemi, comme le propose Jésus, et tendre l'autre joue, je trouve ça admirable mais impraticable.Surtout en ce moment. Tu tendrais ton autre joue à Hitler, toi ?

Um pequeno grande livro.

Pięknie napisana, krótka, zwięzła, emocjonalna książka. Opowiada o trudnej sytuacji za czasów II wojny światowej kiedy to Żydzi byli prześladowani. Ksiądz nie tylko poświęca swoje życie ratowaniu Żydów, ale stara się podtrzymać ich kulturę i religię ucząc ich wszystkiego. Autor książki uczy nas tolerancji do innych ludzi, szacunku do innych kultur i wiar oraz pokazuje siłę poświęcenia,nadziei i dobroci.

This is an Author I especially love. His books (especially these, that form part of the circle of the invisible) are tender without ever being sentimental, they convey deep messages about human nature and this one especially touched me with its humane story. Lovely, well written and with an inspiring end. I would recommend it to everyone, big and small. A future classic for sure!

داستان زندگی یک پسر هفت ساله یهودی در بلژیک در سال ۱۹۴۲ که خانواده اش او را برای در امان گذاشتن از گشتاپو به یک خانواده و سپس به یک پدر روحانی می سپارند..... این کودک تحت تاثیر عقاید پدر روحانی از ادیان می آموزد و یاد می گیرد که چگونه به انسان و جهان عشق بورزد.... یاد می گیرد که سعادت و خوشبختی و تحقق نهایی صلح در رواداری و احترام به سایر ادیان است نه در جنگ..... یاد می گیرد که جنگ و تعارض از بین برنده فرهنگ و تمدن و هر آن چیزی است ، که قبلا بشر برای آن قربانی داده است .

Quelques très jolies réflexions sur la religion et les hommes, l'analogie entre le personnage biblique Noé et le père Pons PAS MAL !
Bref une belle histoire de tolérance.

Bella e triste storia per ragazzi ambientata nel corso della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Ricorda molto "Au Revoir les Enfants" di Louis Malle.

Coup de cœur. J’ai profondément adoré le récit du point de vue enfantin. Beau récit des deux religions que sont le christianisme et le judaïsme. Très touchant. Nouvelle manière pour moi de me « représenter » la 2nd GM.

Good themes, but a rather simplistic plot. It had its moments. No memorable phrases/use of language. As it’s often common in modern literature, there’s a total misunderstanding of the basic tenets of the Christian faith —which is rather sad, since it’s one of the main themes of the book.

All in all, not a must-read.
I would much rather recommend “Oscar and the Lady in Pink”, from the same author. I think it covers 70% of the current book’s themes much, much better.
