Not sure this is really rateable… Holds up about as well as possible for an ironic book of one-liners written in the 1800s. But comedy will always age like milk. Still, a few chuckles, a few groans, a few cringes, a few snorts.
I did like the concept of this dictionary and wish there were an updated one, written by someone as clever as Flaubert, for contemporary times. “Received ideas” are surely inevitable.

Erection: Used only in referring to monuments.
Medicine: Jeer at it when in good health.
