Bijbelse verhalen! Ze zijn zo goed.

De vertaling vond ik soms wel minder, frustrerende zinsconstructies>:(

Superbă, recomand!

Knjiga koju bih preporučila onima koji se bore sa gubitkom druge osobe ili bilo kakvom nedaćom koja zahteva promenu života iz korena.
Koeljo kao i uvek ostvaruje vezu sa religijom, ali i ako se izuzme verski koncept, poenta je jasna. Ova knjiga će vam pokazati zbog čega je neophodno da čovek nastavi sa životom i da borba nikada ne prestaje. Uvek je potrebno imati novi cilj, a onaj ko ne želi da se bori biće kažnjen najgorom kaznom.
Radnja prati put proroka Ilije, koji je predstavljen kao običan čovek, često izgubljen i u stalnoj dilemi. Prognan iz svog grada Izrailja, on odlazi u Sereptu, koju stanovnici nazivaju Akbar (feničanski grad-država). Počinje njegova borba za život, mesto u društvu i propovedanje vere Boga Jedinoga među mnogobošcima. Tragedije koje su ga zadesile služiće kao podsticaj za borbu u kojoj nema predaje, borbu sa Bogom ili sa samim sobom.

"The Fifth Mountain" is one of Coelho's earlier works, one in which he takes us to biblical times and events. He brings us the story of the prophet Elijah, whom we follow along, he and his tormented soul, through this landscape so tormented unto itself; this land of Levites, Curses, Tribunals, Angels, Israelites—Gods Will Be Done.

Coelho was raised up in the Catholic Church, not, as many assume, in some far—out, new—agey, spirit to light seeking kind of religion. His traditional religious upbringing shows up in this beautifully written, powerful tale of a young Elijah, beginning with his quest for a better understanding of his visions.

"Since childhood, he had heard voices and spoken with angels. This was when he had been impelled by his father and mother to seek out a priest of Israel who, after asking many questions, identified Elijah as a nabi, a prophet, a "man of the spirit," one who "exalts himself with the word of God."

So begins his search for meaning amidst the backdrop of the never—ending violence and chaos of the times, and always, the search for God, God's Word, God's Love, God's Strength, His Wisdom and Grace. Do you hear me God?

There is also an element of physical love here, which is hard enough for any man, in easier times, to really grasp and hold onto. All the harder for young Elijah.

This is one my favorite "Little Coelho's" plucked from his "Tree" on which he has mapped out his literary pilgrimage.

Highly recommended.

لم أتعامل مع هذه الرواية على انها قصة نبي من بني اسرائيل بل تعاملت معها على انها عمل ادبي رائع وبسيط في ان واحد رائع لانه مليء بالحكم التي نحتاجها فعلا في حياتنا وبسيط لان سردها وشخصيتها غير معقدة. اعتقد ان هذه الرواية الى جانب الخيميائي من اروع ما كتب باولو مواليو.

من الإيمان التقليدي الى الشك الى الوجدان

بالرغم من قلة جودة الترجمة ، استمتعت كثيرا بمقاطع معينة من الرواية: تلك المقاطع التي كان يفكر فيها (إيليا) النبي في إيمانه وفي علاقته بربه وفي فهم العالم. رحلة (باولو كويليو) في محاولة فهم الإيمان ممتعة وعميقة. لذا ستحتاج إلى قلب وعقل واسعين لتخوضها معه.

Sometimes one must destroy in order to rebuild.

Israel, 9th century BC. Elijah is a prophet on the run, fleeing after a religious purge started by Queen Jezebel. Arriving to the land of Sarepta, he falls deeply in love with a local woman. But his idyllic affair is short lived, as his personal desires clashes with the destiny all-mighty God set before him. What is he to do now?

A story partially based on the book of Kings of the old testament Bible, with a load of fictional content added by Coelho. The story of a prophet and his city. A profoundly allegorical story that teaches us to strive for what we want, and always keep moving forward, regardless of the obstacles.
I usually enjoy inspirational readings but this one felt way too religious for my taste, and that kills my drive and attention. Maybe a different scenario could’ve worked better? Also the so called ‘lessons’ were kind of obvious and unbearably repetitive most of the time. On the whole I found this book ok, but I can’t recommend it. Not my fav Coelho. ‘The Alchemist’ and ‘Veronika Decides to Die’ are very good though.

A veces uno necesita destruir para poder reconstruir.

Israel, Siglo IX AC. Elijah es un profeta fugitivo, huyendo de una purga religiosa empezada por la Reina Jezebel. Al llegar a la tierra de Zarephath, se enamora perdidamente de una mujer local. Pero su idílico romance dura poco, ya que sus deseos personales chocan con el destino que Dios todopoderoso puso para él. ¿Y qué va a hacer ahora?

Una historia parcialmente basada en el libro de los Reyes del viejo testamento de la Biblia, con un montón de contenido ficcional añadido por Coelho. La historia de un profeta y su ciudad. Una historia profundamente alegórica que nos enseña a luchar por lo que queremos, y siempre seguir adelante, a pesar de los obstáculos.

Usualmente disfruto de lecturas inspiradoras pero esta se sintió demasiado religiosa para mi gusto, y eso aniquila mi envío y atención. ¿Tal vez un escenario distinto hubiera funcionado mejor? También las supuestas ‘lecciones’ me resultaron algo obvias e insoportablemente repetitivas la mayor parte del tiempo. En su conjunto el libro me pareció ok, pero no lo puedo recomendar. No es mi favorito de Coelho. Aunque ‘El Alquimista’ y ‘Veronika Decide Morir’ sí que son muy buenos.

روراية فى قمة الروعة والابهار ، يجسد دراما الصراع بين الحب والايمان والتضحية ،مزيج من الواقع والخيال لفته ذكية من الكاتب المميز (باولو كويلو ) هذه ثانى رواية اقرءها لهذا الكاتب المبدع ،المعروف باسلوبه الخلاب الذى ياخذك الى عالم من وحى الخيال ،انصح الجميع بقرائتها تفيدك كيف تسعى جهدا وراء الاهداف المنشودة ،.......
