Okok, he leído últimamente cosas negativas sobre la forma de escribir de Paulo Coelho. Ahora, este es el único libro de este autor que he leído, pero llevo entendido que su forma de redactar historias se repite una y otra Y OTRA vez (y que hace plagios), cosa que no sé hasta que punto tenga ganas de leer otro de sus libros.

Sin embargo, no le doy 5 estrellas, porque siento que es una historia bíblica que he oído un millón de veces (no porque sea exactamente igual, sino por ciertas similitudes a otras historias bíblicas), y lo que me gusto en realidad de esta historia es que la leí en 2 días y la parte en el personaje principal se enamora y como lo afronta (no es que sea muy relevante, pero si me gustó), en fin, lo recomendaría pero si no lo quieres leer es desición de cada quien, lo leí solo por curiosidad y mi experiencia fue normal, no creo que el libro tome relevancia en mi vida.

Pd: no soy la persona más religiosa del mundo, pero si tienes familia religiosa (no necesariamente tus padres), pues conoces mucho sobre el tema.

في المجمل: رواية جميله, و بالنسبه لي -جايه في وقتها

You don't have to be an avid reader to understand one simple but an utmost important thing about novels. It is to give a right finish to the story, that carries the reader to the last page. With just four more pages left on my journey through this book, I was flabbergasted to realize that story ended with Elijah leaving Akbar for his hometown. And the rest of it was all covered as a side note, for the tranquillity of curiosity.

The author of this book has done it so well then I have started to appreciate him more than ever. It was really important for readers (like me) to be left with a thought of that message that the book carriers. It was important because a thought needs to be nurtured within ourselves. It takes time. And there was a chance that that thought is lost somewhere in the story.

However, how much futile the story was, I wanted protagonist to be content in few different instances other than when he was allowed to return. All along I felt like Elijah was a pessimist when he really was not.

إن كل معارك الحياة تعلمنا شيئا ،ولاسيما تلك التى نخسرها . عندما تصبح كبيرا ستكتشف أنك دافعت عن أكاذيب ،و أنك خدعت نفسك ، أو تعذبت من أجل أشياء لاقيمة لها . أما اذا كنت محاربا جيدا ، فلن تشعر بالذنب ، لأنك لن تسمح لنفسك بارتكاب الأخطاء من جديد .

إن الطفــل يستطيع دومـا تعليم الناضجين 3 أشياء هي

استغربت الاسم منذ وقعت عليه عينيّ وأنا أقرأ القرآن الكريم وكنت في انتظار المزيد من الإيضاح في كتاب التفسيرالذي بحوزتي ولكن لم أجد.وهكذا وجدت نفسي في حيرة فأنا لا أعرف مـَن هو النبي إيليا ولمن بـُعث ومتى وماذا كانت حكايته.
ثم أتت الجبل الخامس التي استعان باولو في كتابتها بالمصادر التوراتية ليصحبني معه في رحلة ممتعة عبر التاريخ ..الرحلة الأزلية بين النور والظلام..الحق والباطل..الألم والخنوع والحرية..الاستسلام والمقاومة للحظات الأخيرة.
أحببت النبي إيليا كثيرًا وأحببت جانبه الإنساني الذي ظهر جليـًا في خوفه من الموت ومن تشكيكه في كل شيء حتى وجود الله الذي بعثه نبيـًا لإسرائيل –وهي هنا تبدو متوائمة مع سياق الإسرائيليات التي تحكي قصص الصراع بين الأنبياء والله وإن كانت بالنسبة للمتدينين من المسلمين مثلاً أمورًا خزعبلية- وحبه للأرملة الفينيقية.
رحلة النبي داخل نفسه كانت أقوى وأكثر عـُمقـًا من رحلته الخارجية حيث الهرب من جنود إيزابل في إسرائيل والذهاب إلى (أكبر) والاستقرار فيها.الرحلة إنسانية جميلة بحتة يختلط فيها الشك بالإيمان والقوة بالضعف..أحببتها فعلاً.
وحتى إن كانت القصة ليست صادقة مئة بالمئة –لأنها عمل فني أولاً وثانيـًا لأنها مستوحاة من التوراة التي نعلم الآن أنها مـُحرّفة- ولكنها لا تزال ممتعة.

كلمات الرواية معظمها جميلة وإن شعرت كثيرًا أنني فاشلة في اللغة العربية لأن هناك الكثير والكثير من الجـُمل التي لم أستطع تفسيرها أو فهمها جيدًا وكانت من أكثر الروايات إن لم تكن الأكثر فعلاً التي اقتبست منها الكثير من الجـُمل وعلمتني الكثير.

عمومـًا وللعلم يعني،الإسرائيليات مشوهة صورة الملك النبي سليمان عليه السلام ومشوهة الأنبياء كلهم تقريبـًا فلو حد ضعيف الإيمان بيقرأ بلاش أو يركن إحساسه ومعتقده الديني على جنب منعـًا للتعصب وبعدين يبقى يعترض بهدوء وبحزم بعدها .

صـ207 في جملة (الذي ولّى بفعل التجاعيد والجينات وزوال الأوهام)..جينات إيه يا عم الحاج؟! أعتقد دي وسعت من المترجم شوية! بتتكلم عن عصر ما قبل الميلاد تقولي جينات؟!

وجدتُ لديّ كتاب عن الملكة إيزابل من مصادر مسيحية،سأحاول قراءته وهكذا يكون لديّ صورة للأحداث من وجهة النظر التوراتية والمسيحية.

Paulo Coelho is an inspiring writer. His stories uplift the mind and strengthen the soul. This story is about a young man named Elijah. He is called of God and sets out on the journey that God has set before him. Elijah battles within his soul, battles against God, why must he, Elijah, go through all that he is going through? "That is the question we cannot answer before, or even during, the trials. Only when we have overcome them do we understand why they were there." The story portrays Elijah's faith and courage, he submits to the Lord and finishes his mission.

اذا كنت قد قرأت ( الخيميائي) فستلاحظ ان الفرق كبير بين مستوى الراويتين من حيث متعة القراءة و الفلسفة و جمال الادب ، لكن ( الجبل الخامس) اقرب ما تكون لرواية تاريخية عن النبي إيلياس عليه السلام و قصته في مدينة صيدون( صيدا في لبنان) ... أحببت في الكتاب أنه يقرّبني لمعرفة و بحث قصص الأنبياء الذين ورد ذكرهم في القرآن؛ من مصادر أخرى 'أو ما ورد من ذكرهم عند الديانات الأخرى'..
إن كنت تملك هذا الشغف بقصص الأنبياء و الأولياء الصالحين ، قد تستمع بكتاب ( الجبل الخامس) ..

Just when he was about to surrender and give up his life, he was saved and asked by God to spread His word. He finds himself in the city of Akbar in the house of a widow and her son where God lead him. Thus begins the story of a prophet who is destined to become a messenger and lead people to the right path. We follow as he struggles to make ends meet, face pain and endure suffering. Along the way he meets people full of doubts about what he believes in that made him want to go further and continue his calling. With a war looming in the horizon and a tyranny to strong to contend, can Elijah continue his purpose? When all that he believes in is destroyed, how will he be able to stand and continue fighting for God's words? Does he stand a chance to the horde of enemies refuting his claims and doubting his presence? How can a fugitive make the people who doubts him be believers?

After Veronica Decides to Die (which I have yet to review) and The Alchemist, this is the third book that I read from the author. Like all the other Coelho books that I read, the message of the book is strong. The fictional world the author became a successful backdrop to the author's story. The writing is magical as it will draw you in to the story. It's like reading a story of someone you know.

The book talks about the hope that is within ourselves and to not give up on our dreams. To never accept defeat. That everything that happens is for good. The power of believing in what we can do and the tenacity of the human spirit is imminent in this book. In the story's major turning point, Elijah made a promise amidst despair and loneliness. The book talks about how the magic was formed by that promise and dream, how everything returned from ashes to structures, from doubts to belief, from hopelessness to hope and faith and seeing rainbows after storms.

The book itself is like following Elijah's journey of faith. How he denounced and questioned everyting about God and His ways after all the trials that he faced to his eventual trust with Him again. God allowed him to make decisions, solely rely on himself and believe in what he believes is right because God believes that at the end of the day, despite losing your faith in the process, if what you believe is rooted on truth and love, you'll eventually return to Him. And that's what happened to him.

Motivating and very insightful with a simplistic and at times poetic way of writing, I recommend this book to everyone, regardless of your beliefs or religious affiliation. The book goes deep down than that. The book has this right amount of plot for a short book but I could've appreciated if a little more twist were added.

The book has this make-you-feel-better feeling that rekindles spirit after reading it. Be sure to carry a highlighter when you read this book. There are a lot of uplifting lines in this book that I find helpful when I am down and confused. If you are reading this as your first Coelho book, some parts may be a little too preachy to read because of wisdom that the author is sharing.

Overall, this is a good tiny book worth keeping.

Honestly, this was not one of my preferred books of Coelho's. Somehow The Fifth Mountain, in its retelling of the prophet Elijah's stories, seemed to rely on platitudes without much actually happening.

While the writing itself was easy to read and sounded nice, this one felt just a bit hollow to me.
