As much as I have a deep affection for James Patterson, unfortunately, I simply could not establish a connection with this particular book.

To be honest, I did not find the reading experience enjoyable at all. There were an overwhelming number of characters introduced, which made it extremely difficult to keep track of them all.

Moreover, the story did not seem to be centered around any one or two specific detectives. Instead, it seemed to jump from one character to another in a rather haphazard manner.

Consequently, I just couldn't bring myself to care about what was happening in the book. It lacked the kind of focus and depth that I have come to expect from James Patterson's works.

I was really disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to others.

Awesome! This concept is both scary and fascinating because it seems entirely plausible. While the technology described might be a little dated, the idea itself remains great. Imagine a situation where someone manages to cause a stock market crash without ever revealing their identity or making any demands. The implications of such an event would be truly catastrophic. The financial markets would be in turmoil, and the global economy could potentially suffer a major setback. People's savings and investments would be at risk, and businesses would struggle to survive. It's a terrifying thought, but it also serves as a reminder of the importance of security and stability in the financial world.

For some reason, it was truly arduous to become deeply invested in the story.

I continuously held the hope that it would improve, yet it simply didn't appear to gain momentum.

The narrative seemed to plod along, lacking the necessary elements to captivate my attention.

Despite my initial anticipation, as the story unfolded, it failed to offer any significant twists or turns that could have reignited my interest.

The characters also felt rather flat and unengaging, making it difficult for me to form an emotional connection with them.

Overall, the experience of reading this story was somewhat disappointing, as it never managed to reach the level of excitement and involvement that I had been hoping for.

Perhaps with some revisions and improvements, it could have the potential to be a more engaging and enjoyable read.

However, in its current state, it simply didn't have what it takes to keep me hooked from beginning to end.

Unusually,

this book really struggled to hold my attention.

It felt like such an effort to finish it.

It didn't seem to be on par with his other books at all.

As I was reading, I found myself constantly getting distracted and having to force myself to keep going.

The story didn't seem to flow as smoothly as his previous works, and the characters didn't quite come to life in the same way.

I was really disappointed because I had high expectations based on his other books.

However, despite my initial disappointment, I did manage to finish the book.

And while it wasn't my favorite, I still think there were some redeeming qualities.

Maybe it was just a bit of an off-book for the author, and I'm sure his next one will be better.

For some reason, this didn't feel as the typical Patterson book.

It was extremely convoluted, yet I didn't get lost. The plot was filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.

The main characters were very well defined. They had distinct personalities and their arcs were interesting to follow. I found myself invested in their stories and wanted to know what would happen to them.

However, the ending was a little difficult to believe. It seemed a bit too convenient and didn't quite fit with the rest of the story. Despite this, I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others who enjoy mystery and thriller novels.

Overall, it was a good read that had its flaws but was still engaging and entertaining.

Not one of his more believable ones.

The premise is that there is an elaborate conspiracy to carry out some financial terrorism.

Who is behind the conspiracy turns out to be the twist, but Patterson does do a good job leading you there so that you can figure it out on your own.

This conspiracy is being run by a group of Vietnam vets who seemingly want to take revenge on the country for the poor treatment they received after the war.

The general story is decent although rather far-fetched. Some of the financial aspects are actually quite good.

However, my issue was that the biggest breakthrough in the case emerged out of nowhere with no logical way to arrive at it.

Someone randomly said, "Oh, we should check out Vietnam vets," and it seemed rather random to me for someone to follow up on this by flying to DC and searching through stacks and stacks of paper (in the early 90s when there were minimal computer records).

Overall, the story had its moments but also had some flaws that prevented it from being a truly great read.

James Patterson novels are known for their characteristic short chapters and thoughtful plots, and this one is no exception. The story is highly entertaining and a joy to listen to. Although it's a fairly old recording, it doesn't detract from the overall experience. In fact, the production quality is quite good, and the engaging nature of the story more than makes up for its age. I found myself completely immersed in the narrative from start to finish. It's the kind of book that keeps you on the edge of your seat, eager to find out what happens next. Given all these factors, I have no hesitation in giving it a 5-star rating. Yay!

Black Friday review

This is an extremely good read. It is remarkably easy to follow along, which makes it a pleasure to engage with. I have truly enjoyed it. I am a very old lady, but I have always had a great liking for James Patterson's works. His writing style is captivating and he has a unique ability to create stories that keep the readers hooked from start to finish.

The story of "Black Friday" is no exception. It is filled with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are well-developed and you can't help but become invested in their lives. Patterson's attention to detail and his ability to build suspense make this book a must-read for any mystery lover.

I would highly recommend "Black Friday" to anyone looking for a thrilling and engaging read. It is a book that you won't be able to put down once you start. So, if you haven't already, give it a try and see for yourself why James Patterson is such a popular and highly regarded author.

Not my favorite of James Patterson. This particular work by him didn't quite hit the mark for me. The story seemed to lack the usual excitement and intrigue that I've come to expect from his novels. The characters, while not poorly developed, didn't have that certain charm or depth that would have made me truly invested in their fates. The plot had its moments, but overall, it felt a bit flat and predictable. I found myself not as engaged as I usually am when reading a Patterson book. There were times when I even considered putting it down and moving on to something else. However, I persevered until the end, hoping that there would be a twist or a turn that would redeem the story. Unfortunately, that moment never came. While it wasn't a terrible book, it just wasn't up to the high standards that I've set for James Patterson.

This is a truly captivating account of a terrorist-induced financial crisis that has a real possibility of happening.

The two main characters are engaging, and I found myself firmly rooting for them.

Although the character development and backstory information were rather shallow, it didn't bother me.

The crisis and the evil plot unfolded rapidly. Once again, I didn't mind, but I do recognize that this could have been a much lengthier and more detailed narrative.

The plot twist regarding who the real villain was here was excellent.

This novel moved along briskly and provided a pleasant escape on a rainy weekend.

It managed to keep my attention throughout, despite its relatively straightforward nature.

The author did a good job of creating a sense of urgency and excitement, making it a worthwhile read for those looking for a quick and thrilling story.

Overall, I would recommend this novel to anyone interested in a fast-paced adventure with a touch of mystery and danger.

This is an early Patterson book.

As such, it doesn't quite measure up to the writing standards that we have grown to know and love.

The story may lack some of the polish and sophistication that his later works possess.

However, it still has its own charm and can be an enjoyable read for fans of Patterson.

It's interesting to see how his writing has evolved over the years.

Perhaps this early book served as a stepping stone for him to reach the heights of success that he has achieved.

Even though it may not be his best work, it can still give us a glimpse into his creative process and the beginnings of his career.

Overall, while it may not be up to the standards we have come to expect, it's still a worthwhile addition to any Patterson collection.

Another good Patterson read

I truly enjoyed this book just as much as any other Patterson book that I have had the pleasure of reading. What made this one stand out was that it wasn't part of a series, which offered a refreshing change. The characters were developed gradually, allowing the readers to form a connection with them. They were all likeable in their own unique ways. The plot was engaging and full of twists and turns that made it a fun challenge to try to guess what was coming next. It was a great escape from the daily grind, transporting me into a world of mystery and excitement. I would highly recommend this book to any Patterson fan or anyone looking for an entertaining read.
