It was indeed a Black Friday.

Not only was the population of the United States thrown into economic chaos, but also almost the entire European countries. What made it even worse was the role played by the so-called American 12 Wise Men. As the end JP creatively exposed, they were the cause of the entire economic instability.

Black Friday was filled with suspense, action, and spice from beginning to end, with a little touch of romance and family drama. Arch Carrol and Cartling, despite their commitment to their work, managed to find peace in each other's company. Connel David Hudson, even though his situation turned out to be a set-up designed to end his life, also found love, peace, and tranquility in the blossom of Billie, who was an escort.

This novel is one of the best I have read by James Patterson. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a lover of thriller and suspense. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish, with its engaging plot and well-developed characters. You won't be able to put it down!

This is an extremely captivating story that is filled with numerous twists and turns.

It masterfully combines elements of suspense, mystery, and not just one, but two love stories, all within a single narrative.

The suspense keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, constantly wondering what will happen next.

The mystery unfolds gradually, revealing hidden secrets and unexpected revelations that add depth and intrigue to the plot.

And the two love stories, each with its own unique charm and challenges, add an emotional layer to the story.

One love story might be a passionate and forbidden romance, while the other could be a slow-burning and heartwarming connection.

Together, these elements create a story that is both thrilling and touching, leaving a lasting impression on the reader.

This is an interesting read.

From the very beginning, it captured my attention and held it firmly throughout.

The story was filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I found myself constantly trying to figure out who the bad guy was.

However, despite my best efforts, I just couldn't work it out.

The author did a great job of keeping the identity of the bad guy a mystery until the very end.

It made for a truly engaging and exciting reading experience.

Even now, after finishing the story, I'm still thinking about it and trying to piece together the clues that I might have missed.

Overall, I would highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

It's sure to keep you entertained and guessing until the very last page.

A Thriller with a Shocking Twist

A thriller that initially seemed to be about disgruntled vets seeking revenge for being poorly treated by their country after making great sacrifices took an unexpected turn. It was later revealed that it was all part of a government conspiracy. The aim was to make the president look bad in a financial situation, with the ultimate goal of getting the vice president into office after the president resigns. Patterson, the author, might have added a bit too much complexity or perhaps not enough. Maybe I should have seen the signs that this was going to be a government conspiracy, but that's just my perspective. The story keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, constantly guessing and trying to figure out what's really going on. It makes one question the motives and actions of those in power and how far they will go to achieve their goals. Overall, it's a thrilling and thought-provoking read that leaves a lasting impression.

It was just okay.

It wasn't the absolute best, nor was it the worst.

It kind of fell in the middle ground. There were some aspects that were decent, but nothing really stood out as outstanding.

Maybe it met the basic requirements, but it didn't go above and beyond to impress.

It was a rather average experience overall.

There wasn't anything extremely bad about it either, just that it lacked that certain something to make it truly remarkable.

It was like a regular, run-of-the-mill thing that you might encounter from time to time.

Not something you would rave about, but also not something you would actively complain about.

Just an okay thing that existed in the world.

It was a cool read.

It was really quite interesting and seemed to be pretty close to what our government is like today.

The way it was presented gave a certain perspective that made one think about the current state of affairs.

However, if it were up to me, I would've ended it on a darker note.

I think a darker ending could have added more depth and perhaps made the readers reflect even more deeply on the implications.

But then again, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to how a story or piece should end.

Maybe the author had a different intention in mind.

Nevertheless, it was still a thought-provoking read that managed to capture my attention.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, despite my personal inclination towards a different ending.

Who knows, maybe others will feel the same way as I do, or maybe they'll have completely different opinions.

That's the beauty of literature and different interpretations.

A good foray by James Patterson into the stock markets.

I guess the "shadowy cabal" has to have a role in most thrillers. It seems like a common trope, and I know I'm getting tired of them sometimes. However, I can still see the appeal. The idea of a mysterious group pulling the strings behind the scenes adds an element of excitement and danger.

I was intrigued by the name-dropping and scenario-building in this book. Patterson does a good job of creating a vivid and engaging world. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is full of twists and turns.

While I wouldn't call this one a certified hood classic, it's still a good Patterson read. If you're a fan of his work, you'll definitely enjoy this book. It's a fast-paced and exciting thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

This is just one of those books where the main characters seem to have no real impact at all.

It's as if the plot would unfold in precisely the same way even if they weren't there.

In my view, this makes the story rather dull and uninteresting.

One would expect the main characters to drive the narrative, to bring excitement and change.

But in this case, they are almost like passive observers, and it takes away from the overall enjoyment of the reading experience.

It's a shame really, as the basic premise of the story might have had potential if the main characters had been more developed and actively involved in the events.

Perhaps the author should have spent more time fleshing out these central figures to make them more engaging and essential to the plot.

As it stands, this book falls short in terms of character development and fails to capture the reader's attention in a meaningful way.

I couldn't get into it, which is really strange considering it's a Patterson novel.

Generally, Patterson's works are known for their engaging plots and captivating writing style. But this one just didn't seem to click with me.

I don't have much interest in stocks and all that related stuff. It's just not something that grabs my attention.

So, after a while, I decided to stop reading and switch back to my preferred genre of mystery/thriller.

There's something about the twists and turns, the suspense and the excitement in mystery/thriller novels that really keeps me on the edge of my seat.

I guess everyone has their own preferences when it comes to reading, and for me, mystery/thriller is where it's at.

Maybe I'll give this Patterson novel another try sometime in the future, but for now, I'm happy to be back in the world of mystery and intrigue.

DNF. I truly made an effort to complete this particular book. I managed to get approximately halfway through, but I simply found it to be such a tiresome task.

The protagonist, Arch Carroll, was really not likable at all. Now, I don't necessarily have to like a main character as long as they are interesting, but he wasn't. He came across as a reckless jerk who was constantly putting people's lives in danger.

In the scene where he is introduced, he shoots at terrorists in a crowded restaurant filled with innocent civilians. It wasn't necessary as the terrorists were just having dinner and there was no immediate danger. He didn't even attempt to call or wait for backup.

In another scene, he rams his car into the car of a man who has taken his housekeeper hostage, and again it didn't seem immediately necessary. The reason behind his behavior isn't a great one, and it gets even worse when you realize he has four motherless children at home who are essentially being raised by his sister.

I finally gave up when it seemed like it was leading to a forced romance between Arch and the main female character, Caitlin. Are you seriously telling me that you are going to pair this stunning, driven woman with this mess of a man? I understand that opposites attract, but this didn't feel natural or romantic at all.

The book is also dated, which can be forgiven to some extent as it was originally written in the 1980s. However, in a post-9/11 world, it is a little disconcerting to read about a terrorist attack in NYC and have the characters keep saying things like "why aren't the terrorists making demands" or "they must want something". I know that was the thought process at the time, but it constantly pulled me out of the story.
