Ma koliko vam se činilo da je Patersonove knjige lako čitati u originalu i da su zasigurno lake za prevedom, on zapravo uopšte nije mačji kašalj kada ga treba prevesti. His language is full of traps, phrasal verbs, jargon and the like. And a little carelessness of the translator, a wrongly understood meaning can lead to a materially very inaccurate translation. This book is excellently translated, but the text of this book has been serving me for years as a test text for translators with whom my team has not previously collaborated. And you won't believe what we got from the translators (and those are graduated philologists), who here could not pass either in terms of knowledge of English or in terms of knowledge of the mother tongue. So don't think lightly about certain writers that they are a piece of cake to translate. :)
