On the more "light" side of my vampire preferences,

yet I truly relished it.

Sometimes, that's precisely what one requires.

I do wish that I had discovered book 1 in the series initially.

However, I believe it served as a perfectly adequate starting point.

The story had its own charm and allure.

The characters were engaging, and the plot was filled with enough twists and turns to keep me interested.

Even though I didn't start from the very beginning, I was still able to immerse myself in the world that the author had created.

It made me eager to explore the rest of the series and see what other adventures awaited.

Overall, it was a pleasant reading experience that I would recommend to others who have a penchant for vampire stories with a lighter touch.

Although Gwenna's complete change of personality is not very plausible,

the story still manages to be both fun and charming. The secondary characters and their intrigues have become increasingly complicated, adding an extra layer of depth to the narrative.

Interestingly, this series features examples of unhealthy couples that are not confined to the past. In fact, they seem to be quite relevant in the present storyline.

However, I am currently frustrated as the follow-ups appear to be some short stories that are scattered around, and there is also the hope of a new book that has not yet been released.

There are simply too many question marks at the end of this book to conclude the series in such a way. It leaves the readers hanging and渴望 more answers and resolutions to the various plotlines and character arcs.

Back in Sin City, Bit the Jackpot now zeroes in on Seamus Fox, Ethan's campaign manager.

He is still laboring over his assigned mission of uncovering the identity of the president's sister-in-law's vampire father.

All the while, he is also attempting to put an end to his 200-year celibacy streak.

Regrettably, the woman who gets his blood flowing just so happens to be a virgin (and a stripper!) with no immediate intentions of parting with her virtue.

And to top it off, he accidentally gets her killed and has to transform her into a bloodsucking creature of the night; surely not the most ideal way to court a lady.

Donatelli, too, remains hell-bent on bringing the President down, but he has changed his tactics.

If he can't reach the President directly, he decides to target his campaign manager, which predictably fails.

However, he has a backup plan: revealing a scandal that he believes will secure him the presidency.

This time around, we delve deeper into vampire politics, and it turns out that it is apparently illegal to change a mortal. Oh dear, that spells trouble for Ethan and Seamus!

I found myself enjoying the characters a great deal more this time.

Cara is feisty without being as obnoxious as Alexis was.

The stunts she pulls to escape from Seamus in the beginning are uproariously funny!

I won't disclose what she does; you'll simply have to read it for yourself. It's a real hoot!

She also has a rowdy pack of pets that cause Seamus no end of frustration.

Kelsey also plays a more prominent role this time, and we get to know her better.

She has an intriguing past that definitely sheds light on some of her idiosyncrasies.

I even found myself liking Alexis in this book. Maybe it was because there was less of her, or perhaps it was because she seemed to have mellowed down a bit.

Overall, I had a much greater appreciation for Bit the Jackpot compared to High Stakes.

It was both hilarious and sexy, and the plot was fast-paced with some exciting action thrown in.

I'm not entirely sure what to anticipate next from the Vegas Vampires, so I suppose I'll just have to pick up the next book!

This is a really funny and interesting book that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.

It had me hooked right from the beginning with its engaging storyline and well-developed characters.

I found myself laughing out loud at several points, which is always a great sign of a good book.

Not only was it funny, but it also had a certain charm and appeal that made it impossible to put down.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series as I'm sure they will be just as good, if not better.

These books seem to have it all - they're cliche in a good way, smart, sexy, and most importantly, fun!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a lighthearted and entertaining read.

It's the perfect escape from the stresses of everyday life and will leave you with a smile on your face.

I found this book to be even more captivating than the first one.

Cara was an incredibly interesting character, and I was completely engrossed in Sameus' internal struggle regarding his love for her.

The story was fast-paced, filled with thrilling murder attempts and steamy hot sex scenes, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

However, the only blemish was the character of Kelsey.

In the first book, she was a minor annoyance, but in this one, she became a huge irritation.

I simply could not understand her, nor her inexplicable attraction to a man who was undoubtedly a very bad apple.

Nevertheless, despite this small drawback, this book is still a truly delightful read that I would highly recommend to others.

This action-packed humorous vampire romance truly captivated my attention from the very beginning all the way to the end.

What I particularly liked was the involvement of characters from the previous book. It added an extra layer of depth and continuity to the story.

The steamy parts were also quite good, adding a touch of excitement and passion.

Vampire Seamus, with his mysterious allure, finds himself attracted to Cara, the stripper. Their relationship unfolds in a series of thrilling and humorous situations.

The author has done a great job of creating a world that is both entertaining and engaging.

The characters are well-developed and their interactions are filled with wit and charm.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good vampire romance with a side of humor and action.

Hilarious!

I laughed through the whole book. Compared with the first of the series, "Bit the Jackpot" was a vast improvement. McCarthy has truly hit her stride with Cara and Seamus. The story is filled with great comedy that had me chuckling out loud at every turn. Alongside the humor, there is a lot of passion that adds depth and intensity to the relationship between the characters. What's more, there is also a healthy dose of action that keeps the plot moving at a brisk pace. Cara is an extremely likable character, with her charm and spunk. And Seamus, well, he is one hot Irishman who oozes charisma and sex appeal. I can't wait for the next story in this series to come out. It's going to be another wild ride!

I highly recommend "Bit the Jackpot" to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy with a touch of adventure. You won't be disappointed!

I truly relished this book. It had me chuckling out loud from start to finish. Technically speaking, one could peruse this without delving into the first book in the series, which is titled HIGH STAKES. Nevertheless, I would not advocate for that course of action due to the importance of the backstory. Just bear in mind that the first book does not possess the same level of humor.

On a tangential note, the central character is named Seamus. I constantly have the inclination to pronounce it as SEE-MUS. However, I surmise that in the UK, it is pronounced as SHAY-MUS. :)

This book offers a unique blend of entertainment and engaging storytelling. The humorous elements are cleverly interwoven, making it a delightful read. Despite the option to skip the first book, it is advisable to read them in sequence to fully appreciate the character development and the overall narrative arc. The pronunciation of Seamus adds an interesting tidbit to the reading experience, highlighting the cultural differences in language. Overall, this book is a great addition to the series and is sure to captivate readers with its charm and wit.

This one was a little disappointing after reading 'Heiress for Heir,' which was the first book I've read from this author.

Since I really enjoyed that one, I had high hopes for 'Bit the Jackpot.' However, it unfortunately fell short of my expectations.

There was simply too much going on with the side stories. It felt as if the author got a bit carried away with these secondary plotlines and didn't devote entirely enough focus to the main characters, Seamus and Cara.

But when they did finally focus on Seamus and Cara, they had some pretty steamy scenes. These moments were quite intense and added a certain excitement to the story.

Overall, while 'Bit the Jackpot' had its亮点, it didn't quite live up to the standard set by 'Heiress for Heir.' I still look forward to seeing what this author comes up with in the future, hoping that the next book will be more of a home run.

I truly just did not take pleasure in this.

Throughout most of it, I found it to be extremely boring.

I had really enjoyed the first book in this series, which is why I decided to continue reading this one, hoping against hope that something truly interesting would occur.

However, it seems that this will probably be the last book for me in this particular series.

I had such high expectations, but unfortunately, they were not met.

The story just did not grip me or keep my attention in the way that I had hoped.

Maybe it was the pacing, or perhaps the lack of excitement and action.

Whatever the reason, I am left feeling disappointed and ready to move on to something else.

It has been only a few weeks since the end of Book 1 about Ethan and Alexis. This time, it is about Seamus, the campaign manager and good friend of Ethan.

Seamus is in search of information about Brittany's father and ends up in a strip club with Kelsey, where Alexis and Brittany's aunt works. However, instead of Jodi Madsen, Seamus discovers a dancer who fascinates him to such an extent that he finds interest in a woman for the first time in 200 years. But Cara is not easily charmed by his vampire allure. On the way out of the club, he and Kelsey are attacked by three vampires. By a stupid coincidence, Cara gets in the middle of the fray and is attacked by one of the assailants. While fleeing, she runs in front of a car and dies - but Seamus, who was able to fend off the other attackers, "turns her" and makes her a vampire. Now he has to take her with him, take care of her, and teach her everything a vampire needs to know, and in the process, they get closer.

It is just as entertaining and fun as the first part. Actually, the plot in the background - Ethan's re-election campaign as Vampire President, his fight against his opponent Donatelli, and also the story of Brittany and Corbin, or that of Kelsey and the hitman Ringo - continues; only this time the plot is told from the perspective of Seamus and Cara. A very amusing series. Unfortunately, I now have to wait until February 2011 because that's when Book 3 will be released, and it will then be about Brittany and Corbin (finally!).
