I never in a million years thought I'd come across a story about a virgin stripper. It was quite the paradox, and initially, I wasn't entirely certain if I would like it. After all, it delves into several extremes of a woman's sexuality. But, somehow, McCarthy manages to make it all work. Cara is incredibly strong and independent, yet at the same time, she's astonishingly vulnerable, unsure, and in many ways, prejudiced. Her rather odd ideals cause her to act and think in ways that make you want to give her a gentle nudge and tell her to wake up and smell the coffee. But the way he and Cara interact and complement each other is truly remarkable. You can't help but have your heart skip a beat every time you read about this seemingly perfect couple.

Although this is very much a sweet and cutesy love story, I really appreciate how it becomes a bit more complex with the underlying storyline. The election battle that was set up in High Stakes continues to unfold, and it gains a great deal of momentum. Things start to get a lot more intense and unpredictable, and you find yourself wondering just how low the Italian will stoop next time. What the next devious plot will be and how the "good guys" are going to overcome it. It has everything you could possibly need to create a storyline that is not only entertaining and engaging but also keeps you on the edge of your seat, eagerly impatient to turn the next page.
