I randomly picked up this book when I was browsing the shelves in the public library. It was a book that could be read quickly, and I completed it within a day. It was really entertaining and managed to hold my attention throughout. I have the thought of reading the other books in the Vegas Vampires series. However, I don't think I would actually go ahead and purchase these books. Instead, on my next visit to the library, I will check to see if they have the remaining books in the series. I'm curious to know what else happens in the story and how the characters develop. Maybe I'll find that the other books are just as engaging as this one. It'll be interesting to explore and see.

What does every politician truly desire? Well, it seems that having his own personal stripper is on the wish list. So, when Mr. Vampire catches sight of a delicious stripper, he just has to have her. And he manages to get her, but it turns out to be nothing like he expected.

First of all, she comes with a whole bunch of animals that he has to contend with. As she puts it, "Two Labs who think I'm the devil, and an obnoxious Chihuahua who thinks he's the devil, and two cats who really are the devil." That sounds about right. I can relate as I have two Labs and a Chihuahua myself, and that's exactly their personalities. Of course, I'm not crazy, so no cats are allowed in my house. They really do seem like the spawn of Satan.

Secondly, our stripper decides to give Mr. Vamp's apartment a makeover. In pink and orange! Who would have thought that a stripper might have such tacky taste? She even goes so far as to order him new checks with Betty Boop on them, saying, "While I was ordering the new comforter online for the bedroom, I noticed you have very boring checks to pay your bills. So I ordered you fun new ones. Betty Boop. They're adorable." At least she's trying to be helpful.

But the biggest problem he faces is that his stripper is a man-hating virgin. A stripper who hates men? That's almost unheard of! However, she starts to realize that Mr. Vampire is different. Despite the whole blood-drinking thing, he's actually a nice guy. So, maybe this strange situation can work out after all. I mean, sure, he was initially only interested in her for sex, and he did keep her prisoner in his apartment. And his call to her work telling them she wouldn't be there for a couple of weeks might have been a bit pushy. But deep down, he's nice. So....

Then, our stripper has another huge epiphany: Men don't respect strippers. They only lust after their bodies for sex. She's shocked! As Cara realizes, "Everything suddenly made much more sense to Cara. Independence wasn't achieved by dancing naked in defiance. It was reached through respect."

All in all, this book was cute and funny. It's like Paranormal Light - less calories and less filling.

Cute and fun - these are the two words that perfectly describe this book. It's not the kind of book that requires you to rack your brains and think hard. Instead, it offers a delightful escape from the mundane routine of your day-to-day life.

If you're into the vampire genre but are seeking something a little different and more lighthearted and fun, then this book is definitely for you. In this new installment, there are different main characters. Interestingly, some of them were background characters from the first book, while the main characters of the first book now play background roles.

At first glance, this might seem a bit confusing, but upon closer inspection, it makes for an interesting narrative twist.

I appreciate the fact that the author didn't simply rely on the same main characters from the first book. This fresh approach keeps the story engaging and allows for new perspectives and storylines to develop.

It makes me eager to see what will happen next in this evolving narrative. On to the next chapter!

Another book that is both fun and sexy!

Although it wasn't quite as good as the first one, I still truly enjoyed it!

There isn't much more to say other than the fact that I read it in just 2 days.

It's simply a source of entertainment, excitement, and did I mention how sexy it is? lol

The story likely had engaging characters and a plot that kept me turning the pages.

Maybe there were some steamy scenes that added to the overall allure.

Despite not reaching the same level as its predecessor, it still managed to capture my attention and provide an enjoyable reading experience.

I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for a lighthearted and sexy read.

It's the kind of book that you can pick up and lose yourself in for a couple of days.

I initially had no inkling that I would develop such a profound liking for this when I embarked upon it. However, as the narrative progressed, it steadily improved. At the outset, it appeared that it would merely be of a rather silly and fluffy nature. But as the book advanced, it took on a touch more intrigue and bordered on the almost-dangerous.

I appreciate that McCarthy persisted with the story of Alexis and Ethan from the first book. Yet, she made the interesting choice of switching the point of view to Seamus and the new character Cara. This provided an entirely fresh perspective to what could have been a rather formulaic continuation.

Additionally, the sex scenes are executed extremely well. They strike just the right balance, adding a spicy element to the tale without overshadowing or overwhelming the overall plot. It truly enhances the reading experience and keeps the reader engaged from start to finish.

Ethan's re-election campaign manager, Seamus, is a highly repressed and uptight individual. His life is all about following the rules and maintaining a certain image. However, everything changes when he meets Cara Kim, a stripper.

The moment Seamus lays eyes on Cara, something within him snaps. All the restraint he has been holding onto for so long goes out the window. It's as if she is a breath of fresh air in his otherwise stale and controlled world.

What makes the situation even more complicated is that Cara is placed in danger because of Seamus. This adds an extra layer of drama and excitement to their relationship.

The characters in this book are truly a lot more relatable than those in the first one. Cara is a strong and independent woman who knows what she wants. Seamus, on the other hand, is a man who is struggling to break free from the constraints of his past. Their chemistry is palpable, and the sparks fly whenever they are together.

Overall, this book is a thrilling and emotional ride that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end.

Vampire Seamus Fox was meant to be the campaign manager for a Vampire Nation presidential candidate. However, instead of fulfilling his expected role, he is running around Vegas, keeping a close eye on the candidate's wife and female entourage. Seamus has had enough of women. A disastrous and deadly love affair has been haunting him for over two centuries.

But then, suddenly, he finds himself completely obsessed with a mysterious stripper who dances behind a screen. The sultry yet shy Cara Kim stirs something in him, whetting his appetite for more. But typical of Seamus, he falls head over heels (or fangs over feet, as it were) for that rarest of Vegas attractions - a good girl.

Now, Seamus is caught in a web of desire and confusion. He is torn between his duty as a campaign manager and his newfound infatuation with Cara. Will he be able to resist the pull of his emotions and stay focused on his job? Or will he give in to his desires and risk everything for the sake of love? Only time will tell.

A cute story, to be sure, but it lacked that certain something that would make it truly gripping or fantastic. The female lead was indeed likable, with her charming personality and endearing qualities. The male lead, on the other hand, was not only good-looking but also had a certain allure that made him quite hot. However, aside from these two characters and a somewhat half-entertaining cast, the story itself failed to generate much excitement. It seemed to lack depth and originality, simply following a rather predictable plotline. There were no real surprises or twists to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. While it was an enjoyable read to some extent, it didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, it was a cute but ultimately forgettable story.

I read this book mainly because I'm extremely curious about the soaring popularity of vampire books. However, this particular one did absolutely nothing to ignite my desire to read many more in the genre. The main reason for this is that the concept of blood simply does not turn me on. I'm not entirely sure if I truly understand the allure that vampire books hold for so many.

Other than that, it did have a somewhat fun romance and a spunky heroine who refuses to let the leading man coddle her. But my disappointment lies in the fact that it had been framed in terms of a political campaign. Naturally, I had expected that vampire politics would play an even more dominant and central role in the story.

And just to clarify, if you are not familiar with my review system, romance and chick-lit books typically get graded on a scale of 1 - 3 stars. Meanwhile, 4 and 5 stars are reserved for literary fiction and non-fiction works. This book, unfortunately, didn't quite meet my expectations in several aspects.

This was just a nice fluffy read.

There was nothing too taxing or angsty about it.

I've given it 4 stars for this very reason. However, the characters aren't particularly memorable. That being said, I did really like Cara.

She was such a walking contradiction, and I loved her for it. The fact that she was a stripper who was still a virgin was indeed a contradiction. But I liked the fact that although this character was in tune with her sexuality, she didn't feel the need to express it by sleeping around.

Seamus learned not to judge a book by its cover. I really liked the part where Cara had to argue the point that just because she was stripping for a living, it didn't mean she wasn't a virgin. And yet, Seamus didn't believe her. She didn't back down and told him he was a moron.

Overall, I did like this book. It was a good one to follow after the roller coaster ride that was Black Magic Sanction.

It provided a nice escape and some light entertainment.

The story was engaging enough, and the relationship between Cara and Seamus had its moments.

While it may not be a literary masterpiece, it was definitely an enjoyable read.
