Entertaining from Pg. 1 to 100% Finished!

This book is even spicier than the first one, and I absolutely adored reading it! It kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. If I were to pick a favorite character, without a doubt, it would still be Alexis. She is so captivating and full of charm. And when it comes to Cara's pets, her dog Spock takes the cake. He is just the cutest and most endearing. I really hope there is a sequel to the Cara-Seamus romance. I would be the first in line to read it! Now, I'm excitedly moving on to reading book #3. I can't wait to see what adventures and excitement await me in the next installment. This series has truly become one of my favorites, and I'm looking forward to many more great reads.

This experience turned out to be a lot better than I thought it'd be. At first, I had my doubts and was rather skeptical. But as things unfolded, I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I found myself liking the love story of Seamus and Cara even better than Ethan's and Alexis' story!

And not only that, but there were just enough teasers from Brittany and Corbin to make me incredibly eager for the next installment.

I can't wait to see what happens next in their storylines.

After delving into High Stakes, I was filled with high expectations for this series. I truly believed that with a bit more refined character development, the subsequent installments might even find their way onto my favorites list. However, to my great disappointment, everything took a nosedive in the second book.


Most of you probably recall Seamus Fox from the first part. That cantankerous fellow who was so overly concerned with propriety? I was eagerly anticipating reading more about Seamus. I have a penchant for when uptight characters unwind. Well, his personality underwent a sudden 180-degree turn in this book. In fact, it was as if we were reading about an entirely different person...


As for Cara Kim, her personality and traits were even more lackluster. It felt as if Erin McCarthy changed them from one chapter to the next. Cara's actions seemed to be solely driven by what would create the most comical effect in the current situation or increase tension, or whatever the writer wanted to use to maintain our interest.


Ethan and Alexis, the protagonists from the first part, are still present, but they have become so two-dimensional now. Granted, this book isn't about them, but their characters now just come across as foolish and often act in a rather idiotic manner. This also holds true for Seamus and Cara.


So... I sincerely hope that the situation improves in Bled Dry...

This is the second installment in a light, silly, and highly entertaining vampire romance series.

I had initially no intention of reading it as I wasn't overly fond of the first book. However, it was practically given away for free during a Borders closing sale, so I decided to pick it up.

Surprisingly, this one turned out to be even funnier than the first. I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. I really enjoyed it quite a lot.

Although it might not be completely worthy of a 4-star rating, it's very close. To be more precise, I would rate it a 3.5.

In this story, Seamus Fox, the vampire who serves as a political campaign manager, falls head over heels for a virgin stripper who is studying to become a vet. But almost immediately, she is struck by a car and, on impulse, he decides to turn her, going against his candidate's political stance and numerous vampire rules.

Eventually, they fall in love and get married, but not before their lives are completely turned upside down in some rather funny and absurd ways. Even the political campaign has a happy ending.

There are a few tense and bloody fight scenes, but fortunately, no one dies. You really can't classify this as urban fantasy; it's more of a romantic comedy. Set in modern-day Vegas, it portrays vampires as being very much hidden from mainstream America.

Overall, it's a lighthearted and enjoyable read that provides a good escape from reality.

Campy, vampire lite is how I'd describe these vamps.

He's an Irish, presidential campaign manager and she's a virgin stripper. Their story takes an unexpected turn when an attack on him leads to her death. However, he decides to turn her into a vampire and keeps her in his hotel room. There, he not only protects her but also teaches her about her new life as a vampire.

Interestingly, he also takes care of her dogs and cats. But to be honest, I'm really not sure if I want to bother with the rest of this series. The concept seems a bit strange and I'm hoping that it will get better as the story progresses.

I'm curious to see if the author can develop the characters and the plot in a more engaging and interesting way. Maybe there are some hidden gems and surprises waiting for me in the upcoming books. Only time will tell.

I read the first book such a long time ago that I don't recall what exactly happened. However, this didn't really take away from the overall experience of the book.

One aspect that I didn't particularly like was the main female character. She seemed to be a rather cliché figure. She was a virgin stripper who had given up on men due to a cheating ex.

This kind of character stereotype has been used quite often in literature and it didn't bring anything new or exciting to the story. It made it a bit difficult for me to fully engage with her as a character and understand her motivations.

Despite this, the book still had its redeeming qualities and I was able to get through it and form an opinion. But if the author had developed a more unique and complex female lead, it could have potentially made the story even more interesting and engaging.
