Ford presents the idea that what we see in others actually exists within us in every way. We don't live in a different world from the one within us. Sometimes when we feel a strong reaction to someone else's behavior or quality, whether it's admiration or disgust, it's because it's a part of ourselves that we refuse to accept and have blocked out. We might say we're not stingy, not show-offs, and we hate such people because they make the world difficult. But could we be like that under certain circumstances? If we think about it carefully, we might be.
In the same way, we might say we're not cowardly, not lacking in courage or quick-witted, but we could be. Why couldn't we? If we accept all qualities, we can find peace with ourselves and others.
Some might say that the ideas in this book are just repeated over and over, but personally, we don't feel it's boring at all. Because Ford tells many real stories of people she has met, such as a mother who hates her own daughter, a person who has been sexually abused, or a person who refuses to accept their weakness and often chooses a difficult path in life to prove themselves. These examples make us understand what Ford presents better.
Nearly every chapter has exercises at the end that help us explore our hidden selves better. We really like one exercise. Ford asks us to imagine ourselves as the perfect person, someone who is good in every way, and then imagine another person who is the opposite, full of flaws and everything we're afraid of being or afraid that others will know we are. Then let these two people in our imagination hug each other. It's an exercise that gives a deep feeling and builds a lot of confidence.
"The world is a mirror reflecting back to you. If you love, care for, and admire yourself from within, the outside world will show you the same. If you want more love, love yourself more. If you want acceptance, accept yourself. I guarantee that if you love and respect yourself from the depths of your heart, the love and respect from the universe will spread to your life at the same level. If you think that after doing this, the outside world is still not as you think, look within yourself again and find the hidden things, find what you don't allow yourself to have or receive, including what you want the most."
I had such a feeling when reading it that I didn't know whether to be angry and irritable because I was delving into the realities of our existence or happy about uncovering them. I was exactly in between the two.
When it was over, I promised myself that its lessons would always be with me.
Just as you carry out the exercises during it and taking notes helps you to better understand, in my opinion, this work is not over; you must constantly put yourself in the position of carrying out these exercises until you can believe that you are making a change in this part of yourself and your life.
All you need to do is commit to yourself and come here to realize that being human means being everything!
Salam.
The book in front of me, which I haven't opened until now, I can't really understand what it's all about. It's not comparable just by looking at the cover or the number of prints that has reached 19. First, I went to the PDF on the internet. Of course, I found the pictures of its pages and read it. It was so engaging that that night I was compelled to go to Sa'di Street (in Mashhad, hehe) and buy it.
I'll mention a few highlights. But before that, my opinion about these books on success and peace in life is that most of them say more inspiring words and expressions within yourself. You have to understand your situation, calculate and act. If you're stressed, if you're afraid, if you're ashamed, limit yourself, see its pros and cons, and optimize that thing according to your ability.
But it doesn't say an important thing. When I read it, I understood. And I know that I still don't know all the secrets of the soul. The experience of reading this book took me so long to finish because it was during my exams.
I just say that it brought me a tear and a smile, and I'm satisfied with it. :)
I think there are two important chapters, chapter 4 and chapter 10, which have the potential to be read several times. Chapter 6, page 104. I know that for most of us, accepting this concept is difficult because we have been taught that we should never express negative thoughts about ourselves. If I feel worthless when I wake up from sleep, I have to pretend that I don't have such a feeling. I have to pretend that I'm not worthless at work because having a feeling of worthlessness is not good. I have to hide behind a mask of worthiness all day and hope that no one will see inside me.
While since I can't embrace my worthlessness as it is, I go and put a tantrum inside me. Chapter 8, page 141. Every event in my past, every sleepless night, and all the tears I shed have taken me on the path of my soul's journey.
No one tells me like I do, and no one does my deeds like I do. I am me, and you are you. Each of us has our own unique journey ahead.
Thanks to my dear friend for always excellent suggestions. Thank you, good friend.
Books have a profound influence on our souls and can serve as an excellent introduction to understanding and comprehending the shadows within us.
In my opinion, the last chapter of a book is often the culmination, and considering what has been read in the previous chapters, it can be a great motivation.
Each book is like a journey, taking us through different emotions and experiences. It allows us to explore the depths of our own consciousness and face the aspects of ourselves that we may have been ignoring or suppressing.
The power of books lies in their ability to make us think, question, and grow. They can open our eyes to new perspectives and help us gain a better understanding of the world around us and within us.
Whether it's a fictional story or a non-fiction work, a good book has the potential to touch our hearts and change our lives. So, let's embrace the magic of books and let them guide us on our path of self-discovery and enlightenment.
A book that is extremely useful and from which I have benefited a great deal...
It is a treasure trove without end.
Every page seems to hold a new gem of wisdom, waiting to be discovered. Whether it's learning new skills, gaining a deeper understanding of a particular subject, or simply being inspired by the author's words, this book has it all.
I have found myself referring back to it time and time again, and each time I do, I discover something new. It has become an essential part of my personal library and a source of inspiration and guidance.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a valuable and enriching read. It is truly a treasure that will continue to provide benefits for years to come.
