I think this is a great book. It is easy and I think it is more suitable for Year 7.
The boy is about 10 years old and his name is called peter. He dreams things that is impossible to happen. This book is very fictional but it is very good to read. I got bored at the middle of the book.
Fantastic illustration from Anthony Browne. Short stories, first told to McEwan's own children, about a boy who daydreams, influenced by the author's own childhood. Many of the stories are nightmarish... and have an element of the cautionary tale about them.
Arthur's daydreams send him on adventures and empower him to act in ways which would be inconceivable when fully conscious... He tends to be relieved to return to his own body, life and family... Typically for McEwan, not everything is explained or fully resolved.
This book is a very convincing portrayal of a young boy and family life. Perceptive, darkly humorous and very readable for adults as well as children.
Peter is a very quiet who always like to stay alone and thinking about all the things that come to his mind. He don't have many friends but his mind is full with imaginations and plans. The one thing I like about this bookie when I thought it's really happening, it was just Peter daydreaming.
McEwan is a writer capable to stay on the line between reality and fantasy. This is also the case: Peter is a ten years old boy that has a peculiarity since he always dreams while is awake. His life is normal, he hasn't too much problems but he can't stop to imagine how things could be different. In this way he lives completely a parallelal life where he can turn in a cat or in a bully, or even ina superhero.
Like a lot of his book, it is a very strange book, with a style that keep you like a prison, asking yourself what you would do if you were Peter. At the end you obviously wonder what awake dreams mean for you and the answer you can find could be pretty surprising
A great way of playing with adjective and adverbs! Although it attracts me a lot at the beginning of every chapter, it bores me out in the middle of a new opening. I struggled a bit in understanding their unique way of using phrases. This book takes slightly longer time to finish compared to the other books I have read as i cannot concentrate well because it's not under my favorite categories.
This short story is about a boy always enjoy to spend all of him time daydreaming. The people around him get suspicious about him every time. He faces a lot of consequences on his original habit.
