Love psychic and paranormal, but this was just wrong on so many levels.
The suspense was good. The romance was gross.

A very compelling book with a mystery that kept me guessing and a unique twist at the end. This is another in the series of Bishop Special Crimes books in which characters have psychic capabilities.

In this case it is a woman named Faith who awakens from a coma following a car accident but she has lost her memory. And her amnesia wasn't a thing for a few chapters. It was the basis for her character for the entire book. A good, believable amnesia story is going to catch my eye.

This is also a story about how she gets involved with Kane, the boyfriend of an investigative reporter named Dinah, who goes missing in the second chapter. It turns out before Faith became amnesiac, she and Dinah were best of friends working on breaking open some scandal in the construction industry. A scandal that someone was willing to kill for to keep it under wraps.

Faith's amnesia also evolved her psychic abilities. She was able to communicate with Dinah in dreams and it helped push the investigation forward and ultimately to its conclusion. But it came in bits and pieces and it took a while for the puzzle pieces to fall into place.

The way this story weaves back and forth kept my interest from start to finish. Really, I have no complaints. There were a number of suspects for the kidnapping and for the murders and I really could not figure out who the final murderer and kidnapper would be. The hints that were mentioned were not enough for me to venture a guess. To me, that is excellent mystery writing and plotting.

I have read two books in this series and both of them have been totally satisfactory. I am going to move forward with other books in this series for sure.

Love Kay Hooper and the way she has of crawling under your skin to scare the carp out of you.

+ completely engages you.

+ Paranormal element that is not something that you often see.
- romance
- rushed climax
- a lot of "what the eff" moments.
- a bit of a bizarre resolution to the romance triangle..
- The villains were just meh.

Enjoyed the entire book until the ending. The premise that someone who was dying would come into the body/mind of someone lying in a coma was just a bit out there for me to accept. I know fiction is just that--not real. But give me something that I can at least accept as being possible. Not for me.

3.5 - I was almost let down but the last chapter made the ending weird enough I liked it. My issue with this book was again a parade of characters named but not involved in the narrative that just aren't distinctive...Conrad, Cochrane, Max, Sam, Jed....who?? So when Scooby-Doo removes the mask at the end it had zero impact. Maybe it is my fault for reading fast or not taking notes but otherwise the supernatural aspect of this story was cool. Again my 2nd Bishop book but Bishop is just a minor supporting character.

Well written but a very odd ending. I think the topics of this books are interesting but not sure the authordid a good job of selling it in this book. Not as well done as the first book. Still good enough though for me to continue onto the next in series.

My 2nd Kay Hooper book and I, once again, find myself completely invested in the characters and their story.

Faith miraculously wakes from a coma with no memory, but dreams snippets of somebody else's memories. Now, she has to try to find her kidnapped friend, and come to terms with her psychic ability, while learning about herself.

This book gave me goosebumps, left me shocked, and on the edge of my seat. I had no idea where this was going (bt not in a bad way) or who the bad guy was!

I got a little frustrated with Cain's emotions. One minute, he acknowledges that he gave up on Dinah, but the next he's acting like a desperate man trying tonfind her.  I guess that is a realistic possibility but it annoyed me and made me want tobslap him.

I'm also intrigued with Bishop. So far, both books in this series has dropped a few hints about him and his seeking of someone. I am excited to find out more about him and his story!

Wow! Even if you don't believe in psychic ability and the paranormal this one will definitely give you pause.

A psychic thriller about a woman who disappears and another who loses her memory. Chasing down a story gets Dinah Leighton into trouble, and only her friend Faith Parker and her lover Kane can figure it out. But will time run out before Faith and Kane can save her and solve the mystery? A real twist ending, too.

I hope psychic stuff is real

Trippy, intense story! The mind is an amazing thing. Dinah goes missing. Two weeks later, Faith wakes up from a coma she wasn't supposed to wake up from, with complete amnesia. She has dreams about Kane and Dinah, so she introduces herself to him (recognizes him on a news clip) and assists his search, unlocking her past along the way. Bishop plays only a small part in this story, like he did in book 1.

The plot was the most developed part of this story. It's a thriller, with psychic possibilities thoroughly explored yet leaving so much wonder and so many questions. Well done! Secondary characters got very little development, which means I didn't have to jump ahead to see whodunit because I wasn't attached to anyone except Faith and Kane. Even they weren't deeply developed.

Sex: a few kisses, 1 very brief scene
Language: 5 F words, 57 Lord's name in vain, 14 S words
Violence: home invasions, kidnapping, reports of abusive husbands, bomb, shooting, forced drugs, dog attack
Cliffhanger: no
Do I need to read books before this one: no
Would I read more of the series: YES!!
