I liked the idea of the book and some parts were really interesting ...but it got a bit weirder as the book went on and by the end it was just a bit too unbeliveable for me. Having said that I did enjoy reading it.
According to my spine tree ring analysis I've read this one maybe four times. It's actually my least favorite of the 13 that I've read. (My favorite is coming soon!)
Faith Parker wakes from a coma that she's been in for six weeks with no memory of herself or her life. She finds out that she had a close friend, Dinah, who was paying all of her medical expenses and set up a trust fund for her. Dinah has since gone missing. Faith has repeated dreams that are part of Dinah's memories.
I don't care for Kane or Faith and the way that this ends is odd for me. In fact, I might give it one star if it wasn't for the fact that I'm willing to occasionally (very occasionally) reread it.
DNF 52% I loved book one but when I started this book it was very different and I didn't enjoy how very slow the story was. I continued with the rest of the series up to book 6 so far and decided to give this story another try. I've stopped half way and even though I love Kay's writing and I'm sure it will get better, life's too short to waste on books you don't love.
Kate Hooper has done it again, in my opinion, with the second book of the Bishop Trilogies. She has created an intense, psychological world of killers and mayhem that keeps the pages turning nonstop. The characters and realistic and interesting. We want to know them, know more about them. And we travel with them from page to page. The only disappointment is the lack of Bishop. I expected him to be more present.
*WARNING* intended for readers 18+ Great plot twist at the end! Great characters. Great story. I really like the paranormal aspect of solving a murder. Another cameo of Bishop, but it was still awesome!
