Mình đọc quyển này cũng lâu rồi giờ mới có thời gian review :3

Quyển sách quả là một kiệt tác của Saint-Exupery. Trong sách ông mô tả về những cuộc phiêu lưu dài xuyên qua vùng đất cằn cỗi, còn mới mẻ (so với thời đó) trong vai trò của một phi công chuyên chở bư phẩm. Ông kể về những kinh nghiệm trước khi ông vào việc, những gì tai nghe mắt thấy và những chuyến gặp nạn, đặc biệt mình rất ấn tượng lúc ông miêu tả cảnh bị kẹt giữa sa mạc, không còn giọt nước nào, hi vọng rồi tuyệt vọng, rồi lại hi vọng. Mình đọc cảm động phát khóc.

Nhiều người cho rằng Saint-Exupery là nhà văn thuộc trường phái hiện sinh, mình cũng đồng quan điểm. Ông dành nhiều rất nhiều để viết về những gì thuộc về nhân sinh và đời sống của con người, ca ngợi những thành tựu mà chính con người đạt được thông qua việc vượt qua chính mình; vượt trên khả năng có hạn của bản thân mình. Những trường đoạn ông mô tả trong quyển sách này - về bạn bè, bằng hữu, tình cảm con người, tình quê hương, những gia đình, những cuộc khai hoang và chinh phục, và những Con Người vượt qua mọi khó khăn chỉ bằng nghị lực của chính mình.

Qua đó ông muốn thật sự đề cao và ca ngợi Con Người - theo tất cả nghĩa từ cao quý của nó. Là Con Người bất khuất, Con Người tạo dựng xứ sở, Con Người vô vàn khả năng, Con Người đẹp đẽ - chủ nghĩa lãng mạn và chủ nghĩa hiện sinh kết hợp, xoay chuyển hoàn mỹ giữa nhân vị Saint-Exupery.

Hmmm I can see why people like it, but definitely not my cup of tea. It's one of those books where the author has lived a fantastic life and thinks that is enough to make a good book.

Does he have good stories? Yes, he was a pilot at a time when pilots had crash landings in the Sahara, hopped between picturesque mountain villages, and pushed the limits of flight. But a collection of good stories doesn't make a great book. You need to have some thread running through to make sense of it all. It honestly became kind of dull to hear about his adventures after a while because it felt like reading one disconnected story after the next with a thin layer of adverture philosophy glossed over each experience.

Is his writing sometimes very beautiful? Yeah for sure, he wrote the little prince--he knows how to write. But it's ALL flowery language. There isn't much of a consistent plot and even when he is telling a straightforward narrative, the pacing is thrown off when he decides to wax philosophical about whatever was on his mind when he was writing.

This book feels like a stream of consciousness journal of a 1940s adventurer sitting in a overstuffed leather chair, smoking a pipe. Yeah it's a cool vibe, but doesn't really grab you enough to be worth the 230 or so pages.

I was going to give this book three stars, but what made it lose a star is the way he views people who aren't globe-trotting adventurers. Basically, he looks down on anyone who is just living a normal life. He romanticizes a bookkeeper having to join the Spanish civil war in 1936, talking about how futile and dull his job was before. But you know what?? I'm sure the bookkeeper wasn't thrilled about having to be in a war. Like wtf dude, armed conflict is not just another adventure for you reminisce about!

There's also the undertone of his racist, colonial attitudes throughout. Towards the end he meets some polish miners and basically describes them as a waste of humanity because 1) they are not adventurers and 2) they are polish. He also has some highly questionable things to say about Africans and Asians along the way. Maybe we shouldn't judge him by modern standards, but I did and he kinda sucks!

Anyways! Maybe I rambled a bit too much when writing this review, just needed to get that out haha. 2 stars!

A philosophy book disguised as a book about flying, Saint-Exupery has some interesting things to say. Unfortunately he saves the best for last. The final chapter delves into the question of why men are willing to die for a cause. The chapter just prior to that was also intriguing as Saint-Exupery relates how he ends up completely stranded in the middle of the desert. His prose works in his favor here as he describes the struggle to survive. Unfortunately, I found the first two thirds of the book pretty boring . . .and the prose just seems overly poetic for the types of stories being told. Perhaps this is because air travel in the 1920's was more fraught and adventurous just by its very nature. . .but it's hard to relate to that in the era of Top Gun.

My favorite book of all time.

کوتاه بگم، با اینکه رگه های استعماری در نگاه نویسنده مشهوده، ولی اگر این موضوع منفی که میشه گفت تحت تاثیر روح زمانه ی خودش بوده رو بزاریم کنار، دیدگاه نویسنده خیلی خوبه
متاسفانه آثار دیگه ی آنتوان دو سنت اگزوپری در حاشیه ی شازده کوچولو قرار میگیره و دیده نمیشه

Koks bendras aviacijos ir rašymo vardiklis? Antoine de Saint - Exupery. Apie "Mažąjį princą" tikriausiai žino kiekvienas, o ką dar šis talentingas rašytojas parašė? Metas susipažinti su jo kūryba plačiau.

Nežinau šimtu procentų ar tiesa, bet esu skaičiusi - kad pradžioje "Mažasis princas" tebuvo knygos "Žemė, žmonių planeta" dalis. Intriguoja, tiesa? Kitas įdomus dalykas yra originalus kūrinio pavadinimas. O jis yra "Vėjas, smėlis ir žvaigždės". Kuris Jums gražesnis? Teko skaityti, kad originaliame pavadinime užšifruota knygos tematika - aviacija, egzistenciniai apmąstymai ir gyvenimas. Gražu. Ką čia bepridursi.

Viskas, pasakoju apie ką šis kūrinys. O čia yra Antoine memuarai. Ne nuo gimimo iki brandos ar senatvės. Čia labiau esė. Autorius gana fragmentiškai pasakoja apie savo egzistencinius pamąstymus pilotavimo kontekste. Gamtos grožis autorių be galo jaudina ir priverčia susimąstyti apie draugystę, mirtį, meilę, vertybes. Taigi čia ne nuoseklus pasakojimas, o keliolikos ar keliasdešimties puslapių pamąstymai jam svarbiomis temomis. Autorius be galo jautrus, inteligentiškas ir mąslus, o jo žodyno turtingumas pribloškia. Pirmuosius puslapius skaičiau su didžiule nuostaba kaip taip nuostabiai galima rašyti - žodžių parinkimas toks rafinuotas, skoningas, kalba be galo vaizdinga. Galima apsvaigti kaip gražu.

Jeigu "Mažasis princas" yra tarsi vaikiškas pasakojimas suaugusiems vaikams, tai ši knyga nebus kupina tokių akivaizdžių metaforų. Čia poetiška ir vaizdinga kalba autorius visko taip ant lėkštutės nepaduos. Greičiau apsups savo nuostabios kalbos šydų ir sūpuos sūpuos sūpuos. Turiu pripažinti paskutiniu dviejų skyrių galėjo ir nebūti, nes šiek tiek užsupo. Pasidarė per ilgu ir gana monotoniška.

Labai gražus kūrinys. Išskirtinio grožio kalba. Tikiu, kad literatūros gurmanai įvertins. Kūrinyje veiksmo nėra daug, bet citatų išsirašymui ar pagalvojimui - apstu. De Saint - Exupery yra ta puiki prancūziška rainuota literatūra iš didžiosios raidės. Gražu, tiesiog labai gražu.

شاهکار دیگه ای از اگزوپری

Beautiful literature. A love song for flying, Earth and the human spirit. Would recommend to people who enjoy philosophy, travel, and poetry in prose form.

"Water, thou hast no taste, no color, no odor; canst not be defined, art relished while ever mysterious. Not necessary to life, but rather life itself, thou fillest us with a gratification that exceeds the delight of the senses. By thy might, there return into us treasures that we had abandoned. By thy grace, there are released in us all the dried-up runnels of our heart. Of the riches that exist in the world, thou art the rarest and also the most delicate - thou so pure within the bowels of the earth! A man may die of thirst lying beside a magnesian spring. He may die within reach of a salt lake. He may die though he hold in his hand a jug of dew, if it be inhabited by evil salts. For thou, water, art a proud divinity, allowing no alteration, no foreignness in thy being. And the joy that thou spreadest is an infinitely simple joy."

Fantastic book. I wish I could read the original in French to get the proper sense of the prose and style, but even in English the beauty of the text was not lost. The book is broken up into a series of different events and adventures over the course of the author's life ferrying mail (a bit prosaic but he makes it work) across the world. His reflections and harrowing experiences almost make the book read like fantasy and when he got into his descriptions it was pretty easy to get swept away with it.

It is a bit disjointed until I think the last section of the last chapter and the conclusion where he explains how the desire to learn and overcome subsists in the human spirit and is what distinguishes clay (the masses) from man (the one who truly lives). While it sounds pretty elitist, he does not seem to imply that the poor/unfortunate are unable to accomplish this, but that the environment, culture, and tradition that peasants are raised in is what crushes the human spirit. In his last reflection upon seeing a little peasant boy, he bemoans that within this child is a part of Mozart that will instead be squandered on night clubs and parties.

Each event and story then takes a new light when understanding his philosophy in that he sees himself as the man who truly lives.

My one critique is that while his meditations are very beautiful, they are very secular and pantheistic in nature so there was some things he said I disagree with. Namely that the only source of meaning and happiness comes from our relationships and as long as a viewpoint/religion/philosophy evokes the spirit of humanity from man that it is true. Other than that, I greatly enjoyed it and recommend it.

روحیه ی حساس و دقیق اگزوپری، باعث میشه که توصیفاتی که از موقعیت ها،آدمها و حس و حال صحرا و آسمان شب میکنه جون بگیرن. به طرز عجیبی خوندن این کتاب آرامشبخشه. شاید بخاطر همین تصویرهای قشنگیه که تو ذهن ایجاد میکنه.

و یکی از بخشایی که خیلی مورد علاقم بود:
"در برابر این بیابان مسخ شده به یاد بازی های کودکیم میفتم، به یاد پارکی پر سایه و بس زیبا که برای ما جایگاه خدایان بسیار بود. قلمروی بود که هرگز به تمامی نشناخته و به کمال نکاویده بودیم. ما جامعه ای در بسته بودیم که در آن هر قدم طعمی و هرچیزی معنایی داشت که در هیچ جامعه ی دیگری چشیده نمیشد و روا نبود. اکنون که بزرگ شده ایم و قوانین دیگری بر زندگیمان حاکم شده است از این باغ بزرگ کودکی که پر از سایه بود و افسون، و سرد بود و سوزان چه مانده است؟ امروز چون به این باغ باز میگردی و از بیرون،از کنار دیوار کوتاه سنگی خاکستری رنگ آن میگذری حیرت میکنی که حیطه ای را که بیکران خود پنداشته بودی در حصاری چنین حقیر محصور میابی. درمیابی که دیگر در این بیکران راهی نداری.زیرا بیکرانی در بازی نهفته بود نه در بزرگی باغ."

مجموعه اى از نوشته ها وخاطرات هوانوردى و ماموريت هاى آنتوان دوسنت اگزوپرى خلبان و نويسنده بزرگ فرانسوى كه در اين خاطرات وياداشت ها با نگاه متفاوت و بينش خاص او نسبت به انسان وزندگى همچون اثر برزگ خود "شازده كوچولو" همراه مى شويم. بينشى متفاوت وعميق كه گويا برگرفته از شغل وحرفه،عشق وشوق نويسنده به پرواز است ونگاهى كه از بالاى ابرها وآسمانان به مسائل و اتفاقات زندگى وانسان ها بر روى زمين دارد.آنجا كه دره ها ودريا ودشت ها را گاهى مأمنى امن براى خلبان وهواپيما مى داند وگاهى دامى كه صيد وشكار را به كام خود فرو مى برد.در اين كتاب نويسنده با نقل خاطراتى جذاب ونفسگير همچون يك رمان جذاب خواننده را همراه با خود به دل اتفاقات ولحظه ها نفس گير حيات خود دعوت مى كند و سعى دارد خواننده كتاب را به نگاهى متفاوت به زندگى ،حيات ومرگ وا دارد و ارزش انسانى وگوهر وجودى در درون آدم ها را به آنان بشناساند و مى كوشد آنان را براى زندگى كردن و تسليم نشدن در بزنگاه ها و درك معناى واقعى زندگى همچون متن زير كه ازكتاب است تشويق نمايد؛

Đẹp, buồn và rất nên thơ, dù đây không phải là một cuốn tiểu thuyết.
Trong cuốn sách mỏng này, Antoine thể hiện rất rõ ông là một kẻ mơ mộng với tình yêu thiên nhiên to lớn.
Tôi không khỏi ghen tỵ với ông, khi ông được đắm chìm cùng thiên nhiên, giữa bầu trời với gió, cát và những vì sao.
