This was a fairly boring follow-up to The White Masai. At first it was interesting how she acclimated herself back to living in Europe. But then it became very mundane. It was a lot of day to day things. Referring a lot back to her life in Kenya (which I had just read about in the other book), how the book came to be etc. I feel like there was a little bit of vanity from the author as well that was a little off-putting.

She changed her style of writing which made it harder to read.

I loved The White Masai but did not read The Reunion in Barsaoli. This is just a narrative of how Corinne and her daughter Napirai acclimated into Western European culture again including the publishing of the first book. There are no big surprises. The book ends with a return to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

I read The White Masai and after finishing that one I had to do the follow up! But it's not that exciting as the first book though. Kinda nice to know what happened to her after her African adventure. I'm also going to read the third book...in a while....I don't want a Corinne Hoffman overdose...

This book will drag you in and you wount want to but it down ones you start it. The first book was great and so is this one.

Corinne erzählt sehr einfach und auf den Punkt gebracht wie ihr Leben in der Schweiz weiter verlief. Ich finde sie sehr unsicher was ihre eigen Persönlichkeit und ihr Durchsetzungsvermögen für ihre Wünsche & Ziele betrifft. Auf der anderen Seite ist sie sehr authetisch und begegnet den neuen Situationen mit einer positiven Einstellung. Jeder vollzieht die eigene Persönlichkeitsentwicklung in dem eigenen Tempo, daher finde ich, dass ich nicht in der Position bin über Corinne zu urteilen. Corinne Buch ist jedenfalls lesenswert, wenn man Corinne sein lassen kann wie sie ist.

I really love reading about Corrine's experiences as I find her compelling, but this second book wasn't as exciting as the first for obvious reasons. However, I'm still going on the read Reunion in Barsaloi next.

I am interested in the story, but found the book not so well written: only the part about travelling was better written.

Interesting perspective

I finished reading this book in three nights only :) In this book Corrine wrote about her life after The White Masai. It's interesting enough but personally I don't think it's as amuse as The White Masai.
