This is such a delightful story. I really enjoyed watching Anne grow up, and her flights of fantansy along the way. I am excited about reading the rest of the series.
After loving the CBS TV version of Anne of Green Gables and her subsequent life - i finally chose to read the book. I liked the book and doesn't disappoint. I did find my self skipping some of her longer dialogs!
It has been a long time since I revisited this childhood classic. At first I thought I should have left it in to nostalgia but as I read on, it gained momentum and I was shedding more than a tear at the end. Still can't read it without flashbacks to the tv series. Such a spirited character that I once envied but now would just want to slap
I loved this book so much I had never read the books (only seen the movies) as is usually the case the book was better. You really get Anne's voice in the books.
Though this is not a story that I grew up with, I absolutely love Anne of Green Gables. The movies are wonderful, but (as usual) can't share everything that the book contains. This book makes me feel as though I've been taken away to Prince Edward Island. I love the characters and the writing style. If you haven't read this book, I would highly recommend it. Two thumbs WAY up!
i liked it. when i first started reading it i was like wow Anne wont shut up, but i wanted to know if she got adopted or what would happen to her. i am glad i bought it it was a pretty decent book.
I absolutely loved it!!! I can't believe I'd never read this book till I was in my 20s. This is a must-read for any young, adventerous, imaginative girl.
I read this in about jr. high, at the same time as my best friend. We both fell in love with it, and remember to this day, that shared pleasure of reading the book. Anne is a smart, independent girl who can't seem to avoid getting herself into trouble.
Anne of Green Gables may not be current but I enjoyed it just the same. It is a wholesomely brilliant book. I can't believe I only discovered it now. If you are depressed, this overly talkative and wildly imaginative orphan named Anne will wipe out all your depression away. You should not miss out on this classic.
