“Today you are you! That is truer than true!
There is no one alive who is you-er than you!”

Read this quote somewhere long time back. Never knew that it belongs to this book of crazy rhymes :D
Here u all, send this book to someone whose birthday is coming soon & wish them in Dr. Seuss' style ;)

Such a fun book. However, if you are reading this to your child on their birthday, it kind of makes you feel bad that you can't provide your child anything nearly that fantastical!

Love Dr Seuss but this was not one of my favorites. In some place it loses it rhyming rhythm then jumps back into it. I do however love the story of celebrating one’s birthday and how it’s all about you on your special day.

Today you are you! That is truer than true!
There is no one alive who is you-er than you!
Shout loud, "I am lucky to be what I am!
Thank goodness I'm not just a clam or a ham
Or a dusty old jar of sour goose berry jam!
I am what I am! That's a great thing to be!
If I say so myself, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

My mum reads this to me every year on my birthday, I am choosing to count it because today is my birthday and I am 8 books behind schedule and my wish is to be 7 books behind schedule instead of 8. I literally love this book so much ♥️ praise be

I bought this for my mom, who, turning 69 during this pandemic, and facing all the uncertainty and fears that have come with it, is feeling old. I wanted to at least make her smile - so on a whim I chose "Happy Birthday to You!" and of course I had to read it and make sure it was silly enough. Dr. Seuss doesn't disappoint. The book is fun, funny, ridiculous, impossible - or is it? :) It's a bit of a wacky escape and I hope it does the trick to distract her from both her age and the state of the world as she tries to celebrate surviving in it another year.

This is not one of the best Seuss books in my estimation, but it's still Seuss after all. Of course...but, since I'm already rolling my eyes at the elaborate nature of children's birthday parties these days and resigning my children to less fanfare than their friends...this book doesn't help.

Genre: Children`s literature, fiction. 3rd-4th grade. This is a cute book to read to your student when it is their birthday. I enjoyed reading about all the fun things that happen on birthdays, such cake, presents, and adventures. This book also had great illustrations. It then sings happy birthday in the book, which is fun to read that to the student when it`s their birthday.

It's Dr. Seuss Week and I've borrowed 7 Dr. Seuss books from my library that aren't the most popular stories of his.

If it's your birthday and you live in Katroo, you are first awaken by Honk-Honker's blowing on their horns, "Wake Up! For today is your Day of all Days!" way high up on Mt. Zorn. You will then hear a fluttering flap-flap and then comes THE BIRD! It's the Great Birthday Bird and he's in charge of your day. He takes the birthday person all over the place from morning to night.

As ever, the story is wacky and so are the pictures, but there's a good lesson behind all the wackiness: "I am I. Today you are you! I am lucky to be what I am!" And what a lovely message that is!
