Meh. I'm not a huge Janet Evonovich fan.

These characters were cute but their relationship felt rushed, he was pushy and aggressive. The majority of the book, I had no respect for Casey and his blatant disregard and disrespect for Alex concerning her hesitation in regards to their "relationship" or the lack thereof. .

It did make me smile in spots. I LOVED the Alaska atmosphere. The ending made me like the book better but still.. it was just okay for me.

Yes, another romance that was fun and quick to read. A marketing hotshot decides to swap her wonderful New Jersey apartment for an old man's cabin and bait shop in Alaska! While in Alaska, she meets her obnoxious neighbor who turns out to be an engineer with a whole lot of money. What could go wrong? Pretty much everything and that's where the fun begins!! I liked this book and I highly recommend it!

It was alright. Not really what I expected from Janet. The characters were meh and the plot kind of fell flat. I only managed to finish it because it was short. I’ll definitely just stick to her Stephanie Plum ones.

Listened to the audiobook. It's very lighthearted. My initial reaction was - we've been there/ done that, but at least the location is different as it takes place in Alaska hinterlands.

Much more devastating things could have happened to Alexandra Scott, and as soon as Michael Casey (works as a pilot) enters the story, you know where the story is going (& yes, it's rather sexist).

Janet Evanovich has written much better, but It's light, easy to read, so if you're going to read this book, save it for the beach or airport/airplane.

Alexandra has decided to leave the firm she was working for, but she did it rather quickly, sold her condo and moved to Alaska and from there life became very interesting. She met a bush pilot, who was her neighbor, who ends up doing a LOT of things for her. His name is Casey.

Overall I enjoyed the story, otherwise I wouldn't of been able to finish it. However I found the characters to be one dimensional. All she wanted to do was fall in love and all he wanted to do is not fall in love with her. But at the end because it is a romance novel they were destined to live their one and very singular purpose. If this was turned into a hallmark movie, I'm sure I would eye roll my way through it to just to see if it was just as cheesy as the book.

Very light , predictable, funny early effort by an author i love. Reminds one of a Hallmark movie "Female exec ditches NY lifestyle for a cabin in the Alaskan woods sight unseen and looks for husband. Sexy neighbor is confirmed bachelor. Etc"

A cute little romance.

Tired of her luxurious, work-focused, fast-moving New York life, Alexandra Scott impulsively buys property in Alaska--a cabin and a hardware store. Here she's to start over AND find a husband in the man-predominant state. Instead she encounters obstacle after obstacle, a hot neighbor who's not interested in marrying, and a fledgling business complete with a grumpy manager. Despite it all, she's determined to stick it out and carve a new life.

One female, a few males.... No, no, no...yes...no, no, no...yes...no, n
o, no...yes. Boring...predictable, except when she burned down the outhouse. Boring, predictable ending. I expected more.
