The perfect afternoon read. I finished it in one sitting.

I haven’t read a Janet Evanovich book in ages, but I forgot how much I enjoy her strong female characters and the tension between them and the devastatingly handsome male characters. Obviously unrealistic but fun, quick reads.

A rather tedious romance with some amusing moments, although the idea that an otherwise intelligent, city woman could be quite so stupid as to head to Alaska thinking she could survive in a very basic cabin through winter without a huge amount of help takes a lot of swallowing. Michael Casey is a nice man & does help Alexandra Scott with everything, but I can't see any reason for him to fall in love with such a turnip-head. Oh, well! C'est l'amour.

I didn't know how I'd feel about this one with it being so short. Her last two books before this were starting to show signs of the mysteries that would lead to the Stephanie Plum series, and this one had none of that.

But I really liked it. I liked the Alaskan setting, and I liked that they just got to the point. It was a fun, quick read.

(3.5) I was looking for a quick read and this was perfect!
I enjoyed the characters personalities and thought they had a cute relationship. I loved that this book let me escape to a cozy, but rugged Alaskan setting. The author totally could have added more detail to the events and characters to make this a longer story, but it still was very charming.

I liked this story but find it unbelievable that someone would trade a gone in New Jersey for a home in Alaska without prior knowledge of the state of the conditions.

Fantastic! One of Evanovich's early books before the Plum series. Each chapter ran on and could have been broken up, but who cares with this light hearted comical romance.
And to increase my enjoyment it is set on Alaska. I found it for a quarter at the Haines, AK library. And read it in a couple hours on my Alaskan cruise.

Absolutely hilarious book of a woman who moved to Alaska to find a husband. She might be on to something ladies. Feminists will hate this book, but I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. I was laughing out loud through most of this book and was sad to see it end. SImple-minded people that didn't try too hard to resist each other. Loved it.

Evanovich/manhunt

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Casey and Alex . Alex trading in big city life for frontier life in alaska, and through mishaps through trial and error learning to live with the basic needs. And along the way driving a pilot crazy with forever rescuing her from one mishaps and another. Evanovich does not disappoint her readers, she has a flair for different type of story writing, you can never go wrong in reading her books, you will find yourself enjoying the story.

Not sure which was worse, the writing or the limited skills of the narrator.

Quick Lighthearted Read

I enjoyed this book. Not much of a plot but a whimsical lighthearted read. I especially enjoyed the back and forth banter of the two main characters.
