Oh my, did I enjoy this one!

I love reading Alaska romances and this was definitely one of the better ones! I laughed so hard at the outhouse mess because we almost did the same thing years ago when I was a kid! Luckily for us it was only the roll of toilet paper that caught fire and my grandma tossed it out in the snow.

Manhunt is a great story to read by audiobook when you're doing something unimportant. It was a great story to read while I painted my bedroom because I only had to half listen. Compared to Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels, Manhunt is rather juvenile. That being said, I had a few good laughs and it was a cute, cliche story with no real depth but an interesting story line. Its predictable but enjoyable if you go in accepting the book for what it is: one of Evanovich's first novels that isn't great but surely helped her work up to the great writing she does today.

Meh! Not my favorite from Evanovitch......same formula.....independent woman falls for a man but doesn't want to have fallen for a man......man likes the woman but knows she doesn't want him. They fight.....they date.....they fight......and they decide to get married all in about 6 weeks time. This book was set in Alaska and made Alex who was alone in the wilderness in a primitive cabin need help from her manly neighbor with modern amenities.

such a cute book

Quick read but well worth it. The story had me from the beginning when Alex left her big city life for Alaska.
Many adventures await for Alex and learning how to deal with living a rural life in a cabin.

Another early work by this author. I enjoyed the story but the end was very abrupt. I would have given 4 stars if the end fit in better. It was a happy ending of course but it just seemed to have no lead into it. I'm not sure that I'm describing it correctly, it just sort of happened from one page to the next,

Another sentimental read, this one is forever one of my favorites because of the setting (Alaska, oh baby), the witty characters and, of course, the fat doberman. I love a good "hunting for a husband/wife" book and Manhunt does not disappoint.
Another benefit to this book is the fact that I can read it in two hours. Nothing makes me happier than getting to enjoy a book and still have time to enjoy another one!

Alexandra Scott decides to trade in her lifestyle as a busy New Jersey executive for owning a hardware store in Alaska. Her former life did not allow her time to find a husband and start a family, so she thought her life in Alaska would allow her to do that. She finds that her new home is a cabin on a mountain far from everything with no electricity, running water or other comforts. But there is one benefit - a very sexy neighbor.

I know these early Janet Evanovich books were written in the 80s, but was romance really so bad back then that it was acceptable to grab and kiss a random woman you've only just met. Without alcohol involved. I read these because they are fast easy reads, but far out they are dumb. Alex's move to Alaska was positively idiotic, and everything from that point on just got worse and worse. The only saving grace is I read most of it in about two hours one evening, so it wasn't like I had to dedicate a ton of time. Why I still feel compelled to read everything Evanovich has written I do not know!
