I needed a break with some mindless silliness. Stephanie Plum to the rescue. I have all 3 "Plum" groups ready to go...Nothing like reading a book in 24 hours. Thank you Stephanie....certainly not fine literature, but just what I was looking for. Although, there was not nearly enough Ranger or Morelli in this "between the numbers" episode.

One of the best ways to end the year - I needed the laughs this book gave me ❤️

For a novelette it was good. I had heard mixed reviews but of course when I started reading a Plum novel, I couldn't stop. It's what my mother has coined "candy". There is an addition of a third guy option in this book that I hope to see more of when the series continues. As if she didn't have enough choices;)

It’s Valentine’s in Jersey and Steph and the gang get a visit from Diesel. He’s looking for his “unmentionable” enemy Wolf. But Diesel has a lot of secrets he’s not willing to share and it might get everyone hurt.

While on the lookout for this love doctor Stephanie plays matchmaker to the locals but doesn’t for herself. As always I am rooting for anyone but Morelli but the heart wants what the heart wants.

This one was complicated and I had a little trouble keeping track of all the names. It is always entertaining to read about Stephanie and her sidekicks. Janet Evanovich excels at developing those quirky supporting characters and they never disappoint.

I liked this "in-between-the-numbers" book much better than the last one, Visions Of Sugar Plums. I liked the fact that it's wasn't just Diesel and Stephanie in the book but all the chracters were in this one, with the exception of Ranger & Morelli who only made brief apperances. Lula and grandma were especially funny in this one and so were the numerous new characters. I am liking Diesel more now because of this book. Looking forward to the next one now.

I prefer the regular Plum books over these holiday special, but Diesel is growing on me. He'll never replace Ranger though.

I love the Stephanie Plum series.....however so far the "in-between" books seem to be not quite up to snuff. Granted, they are short, under 100 pages, and though funny, they just seem to lack something I can't quite put my finger on. That having been said, Stephanie is always good for a laugh, often out loud, and I doubt I will skip the next "in-between" ~!

I love the Stephanie Plum series. I guess this is an “in between series” with the Diesel character. This is the 2nd book in that series. I liked it but it left me wanting the original series plots and characters. Still a good read.

Short. Cute. And, Diesel always shows up for these half-books. He's totally delicious and willing to whip out his dimples when necessary.

Recently, I had the immense delight of reading Plum Lovin’ by Janet Evanovich! I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for what seems like ages, but it really hasn’t been that long. But still, when you desire a book it seems like forever.
I had such fun reading the book, but there is one HUGE problem with it. It’s TOO SHORT!

Plum Lovin’ is a Valentine’s Day novella that takes place between the numbers of the other Stephanie Plum novels. This one takes place between Twelve Sharp and the forthcoming Lean Mean Thirteen.

There are some negative reviews of this little novella, but I don’t think the negative Nancy’s and I were reading the same book; Plum Lovin’ was an absolute riot!

Diesel, who last appeared in Visions of Sugar Plums (the Christmas novella that goes between Hard Eight and To the Nines) and he needs her help again: Annie Hart, a bond jumper, is being tracked by an Unmentionable. She’s also a big ticket bond for Stephanie.

Diesel gives Stephanie an ultimatum: help him track down the man after her and he’ll give her Annie Hart. Except there’s a catch: Annie Hart is a relationship expert; Stephanie must make sure that everyone in Annie’s files has a happy Valentine’s Day.

The people Stephanie has to help are lovelorn and desperate: an overworked single mother, a shy butcher, an older woman who’s afraid of sex and her sister’s boyfriend Albert who’s afraid of marriage. The results when Stephanie decides to play Cupid are hilarious and this is one Valentine’s Day caper that I’m going to have to read a few more times.

I don’t understand the negative reviews myself. Sure, it’s short, but it’s a novella. And it’s freaking hilarious! I finished it in two days and laughed myself silly through most of it.

One memorable scene includes Stephanie’s grandmother and lip injections. Great stuff, hilarious! My only major complaint is that I WANT MORE. Sigh.
I guess I’m just going to have to read Plum Lovin’ again a few more times and take another spin with Twelve Sharp until Lean Mean Thirteen comes out in June.

This visit with Stephanie Plum may have been short this time around, but man was it worth it!

I'm a big Evanovich fan, but this book was her worst ever. Wasn't funny, wasn't exciting, wasn't sexy. Subplot about matchmaking lonely hearts was as lame as the characters they were trying to match. The main characters didn't even have quite the same personality and wit as they do in the "Numbers" but seemed more like faulty imitations. I doubt if Evanovich actually wrote this book--unless it was an Evanovich other than Janet. Thank goodness it was so short.
