This is marked #12.5 but judging by the car Stephanie was driving in this one, the yellow Ford Escape, the book number is wrong. It should be between #9 and #10. But then it mentioned Valerie and Albert's marriage attempt and that happened in book #11. So the timing's a bit wonky here but otherwise it was an entertaining story. Hilarious as always. I still haven't figured out what the heck Diesel is...curious and curiouser...

What can I say? I love Stephanie Plum! In Plum Lovin' Diesel and Stephanie are playing cupid and matching couples up with like partners. Stephanie wants to Annie so she has to compromise with Diesel so he will tell her where Annie is. Diesel has his own terms and that is for Stephanie to match up Annie's clients with him. Oh yeah...Diesel gets to stay at Stephanie's apartment while they are doing this. Eventually he ends up in her bed because Stephanie looses her end of a deal. Go figure.

I love thiese books because they are so light and easy to read. They are like my comfort books.

I like these novellas starring Diesel. Short and fun with a touch of paranormal.

Meh. The between the numbers series seem to exist to explain little things like Valerie's next pregnancy and marriage. Other than that, these books aren't good. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the series... But these novellas are just not good. Main characters make cameo appearances and their behavior is totally out of character (Ranger apologizes for startling Stephanie after breaking into her apartment? Stephanie's Dad threatens Diesel? So not the characters evonavich has us reading about in her other books.)

Bottom line, these books are good for a Stephanie fix if you had to wait for the next one to be published... But since there are no more "between the numbers" coming out - I may be skipping the rest. They detract from a fun series and really serve no point n advancing the story line.

If you are a Stephanie Plum fan, you will enjoy this installment. This is #12.5 in the series. Grandma Mazur gets botox! Lula gets thrown in jail! There is all kinds of fun! I don't like Diesel as much as Joe and Ranger, but I found him to have a better sense of humor in this book which was fun.

As a note the number of pages listed on Goodreads is incorrect. The story ends on page 248.

Meh. I would say it's probably may favorite of the 4 in between novels, but still doesn't deserve 3 stars.

I'm not sure that I liked this book. It was like eating a chocolate chip cookie when you really want chocolate cake. Sure, it tastes good... but it's not really what you want. I wanted Ranger, but instead got handed some dude named Diesel, who doesn't show up in any books besides these little novellas.

I like the storyline just fine, but I didn't like the supernatural side to it. It doesn't fit with the rest of the series. I almost feel like Evanovich said "I wonder if I can write paranormal romance? Well, why don't I try it out with Stephanie Plum! Excellent!" Or maybe it was the publishers. Regardless, I didn't love it like the other ones.

It's also that I might be all Plumed out right now. I didn't feel like 14 was as good as the previous ones, so maybe I just need a good change of pace for a while.

All of Ms. Evanovich's books are a hoot, and this one is no exception.
Stephanie Plum is the daring bond jumper huntress and she goes from one crazy problem to another.
This time she has to take over a matchmaker's last five clients before Valentine's Day.
And the matchmaker is a bail jumper. But not to worry. One of Stephanie's close friends, Diesel, start matchmaking in their own style. Which isn't really style, they wing it.
Now add in a bad guy, and the man who gives others hives when he is upset, and you now have a romping good time.
Did I forget to mention the nonmarriage of Stephanie's and Diesel's wedding?
Hope that is enough information to get you to read a fun book. And who knows. you may start reading all of Ms. Evanovich's books, and what could be more fun? Well, there are a couple of things, but this is a G-rated review.

Frankly, for this Between-the-Numbers book Evanovich is just “phonin’ it in.” The usual cast of zany supporting characters is here – Lula, Grandma Mazur, etc – and the mysterious Diesel makes a return appearance. Stephanie plays matchmaker between several couples; she even succeeds in pulling off a surprise wedding – the bride and groom don’t even know about it! While I’m still mildly entertained by the wackiness, Stephanie’s basic ineptness has lost its charm for me. On the plus side, Stephanie’s ongoing indecision between Morelli and Ranger barely gets a mention, and the book is mercifully short. The audio is only 3 discs long; the paperback text version has printing so large, I double checked to see if I’d gotten a large-print edition. (I’ve seen children’s books with tinier print.) King’s performance on the audio is great, however. She really breathes life into this tired series.
