Okay...so it's the young reader's edition...SHUT UP! I READ IT IN SIXTH GRADE!! Well...I would love to read the real version, someday...

This is a great classic story. I really do like this edition; however, if you were reading to younger children, I think that it would bore them. It is rather long and for them, there wouldn't be many pictures in it. While the illustrations were pretty, they were also placed at weird times. For example, when they introduced the Ghost of Christmas Present, they had the picture of Scrooge and him on one page, but he was introduced on the next page. All in all, I would have older children read this story, say, around age 11 or 12. If I wanted younger children to hear and see the story, I would probably go looking for another version of it.

The best audio version of A Christmas Carol, in my opinion. Wonderfully done, I listen to it every year. Recommended!

Looking for a good abridgment. This one is pretty good and I like the art a lot.

A Christmas Carol is a brilliant story no doubt about it and I'm pretty sure there's a lesson in there for a great deal of us. I wasn't keen on the narration at first I confess but Simon Prebble captured the essence of Ebeneezer Scrooge perfectly and he performed the other voices to perfection. Well worth a listen.

I listened to a dramatized audio performance of Dickens' classic, if not this one listed here then a similar version, and enjoyed all 3 hours and 24 minutes of it! Dickens' classic story of the transformation of the miserly and mean-spirited old Mr. Scrooge into a generous and happy man reveals Dickens' own view of the power of the Christmas spirit of generous giving and merry making. Always worth another read or listen, especially this time of year!

Creo que es un clásico literario que todo el mundo debe leer alguna vez para encontrar ilusión. No solo en la Navidad, sino en cualquier otra cosa. La pluma del autor es bastante amena a pesar de ser un clásico y se lee rápido debido a la cantidad de páginas.

Entrañable cuento, cuya historia es muy conocida. Scrooge es un hombre avaro, tacaño, mal portado con sus semejantes, es confrontado por tres fantasmas de la navidad, el de la navidad pasada, navidad presente y navidad futura, que lo hacen reflexionar sobre su mal comportamiento... Un cuento muy bonito, entrañable, que pasan los años y sigue estando vigente. No se lo pueden perder.

An exceptional book by a fantastic author. (Although he tried to put his wife in an insane asylum to marry his 18-year-old girlfriend does make him a bad husband) his works are all pretty amazing.

Es imposible no haber experimentado esta historia, ya que hay adaptaciones cinematográficas de todos los sabores y colores; ésta es mi primera vez leyéndolo. En ese sentido no hubo sorpresa alguna, ya sabía prácticamente cada detalle de la trama y sentí que conocía a los personajes. Pero de algún modo los dos primeros tercios del libro me gustaron más en su versión escrita, porque el final lo sentí un poquito extraño. No sé por qué.
La otra cosa que quería decir es que no sé si leí el texto que escribió Charles Dickens. Es obvio que no, porque leí una traducción, pero es que además dice que es una adaptación y no sé lo que eso significa.
En fin, para mí es un bonito recuerdo de la infancia y leerlo en esta época del año le da un bonus de espíritu navideño. Así que todos a ser felices.

Bellísima historia, a pesar de haber visto diversas adaptaciones de este clásico, eso no entorpeció mi imaginación y las ganas con las que leí el libro. Sinceramente Scrooge tuvo un gran cambio a través de cada pasaje con los tres espíritus. Me encantó el simple hecho de que Dickens nos dió una historia con un maravilloso mensaje en la época más anhelada para algunos: la navidad. Y qué decir del final, siempre es exquisito para mí leer algo y finalizar con una sonrisa en el rostro como los mismos personajes. Siempre quise leer a Dickens, y ahora que lo hice, no pararé. Buenísimo.✨
