Dale Carnegie was an American writer and teacher of courses in self-improvement, salesmanship, corporate training, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Born into poverty on a farm in Missouri, he was the author of How to Win Friends and Influence People (1936), a bestseller that remains popular today. He also wrote How to Stop Worrying and Start Living (1948), Lincoln the Unknown (1932), and several other books. One of the core ideas in his books is that it is possible to change other people's behavior by changing one's behavior towards them.
With these types of books I like to take my time and read them calmly, analyzing all the content. It has advice that really helped me and is helping me, it is interesting to read these anecdotes of all the people applying the advice given in the course and in the book. I sincerely hope that people who are thinking of reading this book read it and enjoy it because it has very interesting advice.
Extremely dated. To the point where all the advice and recommendations seem obvious and trite. I’m sure some of the principles don’t change but Abraham Lincoln never had to relate to his colleagues via email and Teddy Roosevelt didn’t have to deal with the pressures of social media. The world - especially in business - is a very different place to the one Dale Carnegie was writing for.
Few books influence our lives. This is one of kind. Though it much grounds on business perspectives, it's our perspective that how we look to it. Thumbs up!! :D
honestly i thought it was a bit embarrassing to read this book because it felt like i was being desperate, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. It was a great book with pretty solid and doable advice, in my opinion. I have a bit of anxiety with interacting with people and reading this book has helped make more friends in uni. I find myself able to talk to anyone and really get to know someone without having to know them for that long. I also find that im able to hold conversations for longer with people after using some of Dale's advice. solid book 4.5/5 stars tbh

First time through this book was amazing! I've listened to the audiobook, and will have to read it the old fashioned way next. Lots of great stuff here. It's definitely worth all the hype!
