Many people said Carnegie is a classic - I just found bunch of obvious truths served in quite infantile way

With these types of books I like to take my time and read them calmly, analyzing all the content. It has advice that really helped me and is helping me, it is interesting to read these anecdotes of all the people applying the advice given in the course and in the book. I sincerely hope that people who are thinking of reading this book read it and enjoy it because it has very interesting advice.

Extremely dated. To the point where all the advice and recommendations seem obvious and trite. I’m sure some of the principles don’t change but Abraham Lincoln never had to relate to his colleagues via email and Teddy Roosevelt didn’t have to deal with the pressures of social media. The world - especially in business - is a very different place to the one Dale Carnegie was writing for.

Few books influence our lives. This is one of kind. Though it much grounds on business perspectives, it's our perspective that how we look to it. Thumbs up!! :D

honestly i thought it was a bit embarrassing to read this book because it felt like i was being desperate, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. It was a great book with pretty solid and doable advice, in my opinion. I have a bit of anxiety with interacting with people and reading this book has helped make more friends in uni. I find myself able to talk to anyone and really get to know someone without having to know them for that long. I also find that im able to hold conversations for longer with people after using some of Dale's advice. solid book 4.5/5 stars tbh

How to Make Friends and Influence People
By: Dale Carnegie

There is a book that every CEO and every successful executive has read; How to Make Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. This book really impressed me. It teaches us how to get what we want by influencing others. This book has much to offer and we can learn much from it. To say I will remember everything is an exaggeration, but I can say that I will probably read it many times, so each time I read it I can learn even more. It's a book about how we can apply certain principles in our daily lives to have better relationships and eventually become relationship masters. As I read each rule, I marveled at how true it was and understood why it was so effective when applied.

These are some of my greatest lessons from this book. Don't criticize, judge, or complain. We must remember that we are dealing with emotional creatures. Instead of criticizing, if we put ourselves in their shoes and find forgiveness and empathy for that person, we'll end up being open-minded and refraining from criticizing that person. Show an honest and sincere appreciation. We often take the people in our lives for granted, so acknowledging them and giving them an honest and heartfelt appreciation will have an impact. The best thing you can do to get out of an argument is to avoid it. It's not worth arguing about. Instead of arguing, try to get the person's point of view and explain why they feel that way or lean to one side. Thank them for knowing this and let them know you will be checking out. This way they will lower their alertness and you will have a much more productive and enjoyable conversation. Never say you're wrong, this follows the previous rule. Try to understand where others are coming from by telling them they are wrong. You turn down a challenge that causes them to shut themselves off from anything you have to say. Be an active listener and let others talk about it. Learn to listen and let the person talk most of the time, instead try to understand and relate to them by asking them questions because there is one thing people love that speaks about you and your interests.

This book was a huge influence on my hero's journey and as I said before I will refer to it many times over the years. I was able to understand a lot about the principles of why they work and the examples to prove it. This book has helped me better understand people and their behavior and will help me be a better mentor and guide to those around me. The quote that impacted me the most from the book was "Pay less attention to what men say. Just watch what they do." I believe that this is very true for its own reasons. We tend to focus on what people say, but actions always speak louder than words.

I recommend this book to anyone looking to understand more about humans and human behavior and how they can improve their relationships and create better connections with people. A must-read. I would give this book a total of 5/5 stars as I mentioned before the impact and awareness created inside of me after reading and understanding how humans really work.
