This book is eye opening. I learned a lot about scripture and began unlearning a lot I thought I knew. This book also had me reading and studying scripture I’ve typically overlooked. Our family is making some big changes.

Very informative and thought provoking! My Mom read it years ago while making the decision for our family to eat kosher and I wanted to read it myself as I do my own research now that I'm older. It has definitely reaffirmed my belief that eating kosher is what I should be doing as a believer and follower of Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ). I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to take a closer/deeper look into the Old Testament food laws or as the author puts it, "Why would God care about what we eat?"

Interesting read, but some of her conclusions were flawed. For instance, she says that pigs are unclean for food because they have a short digestive track and they eat anything, including dead rats. True....but later she claims chickens are clean. Um, no. Chickens also have a short digestive track, and they will also eat anything. I have personally observed mine eating a dead rat! So while I do believe the Bible is correct, this author's reasoning on why is flawed.

A wonderful and gentle look at why the biblical dietary laws matter to God and why they should matter to you. God gives good, holy, and loving instructions because He really cares about us and whether or not we live an abundant human life.

Great resource! well written and gently presents a biblical perspective of food from a Messianic Jewish woman. Includes scriptural analysis of food related passages by Dr. Lancaster (FFOZ). Great for your friends/family who don't understand why you might choose to not eat pork/shellfish.

The one thing most Christians never ask themselves is 'Does God care about what I eat?' Most of us eat at least 3x per day, and food is what God created to sustain us. It would make sense then that God has certain guidelines for us. Of course these are spelled out for us, especially in Leviticus 11. However Christianity has done a pretty good job in explaining all of these instructions away. If we did as good of a job in trying to see God's wisdom in His instructions as we do in explaining why we don't have to follow them, things would be a whole lot better! God does care about what we eat - there is no doubt about it. I am blessed to come to this revelation - which God began to put on my heart a good while back. This book just confirmed what I suspected - that God's instructions on eating are still for today - and that they are filled with much wisdom which science supports nonetheless.

I found this book to be very helpful in confirming what I now know to be true -- that the Law of God (Torah) has not been "done away with" and is meant for all humankind to observe. This book deals with the dietary laws and they really are not as burdensome as you might think, given the scientific evidence to back up the fact that Sovereign God knows what He's talking about!
