No me han gustado. Ninguno de los 23 cuentos.
Sí que salvaría 3 de ellos: Lo más olvidado del olvido, El pequeño Heidelberg y El palacio imaginado.
Me ha resultado bastante difícil soportar tanto incesto, violación, romantización de la pedofilia y violencia/maltrato.
¿Que expone muchas vivencias de pueblos de Sudamérica? No puedo negarlo. ¿Que no me consta "denuncia"/crítica? Pues eso.
Dos estrellas porque tampoco voy a ponerlo al nivel de R.Gañán y similares.

خمس عشرة قصة...ترجمها صالح علماني...تبدأها الليندي باقتباس من "ألف ليلة وليلة"...وتنهيها منها أيضا بـ "وعندئذ أدرك شهرزاد الصباح فسكتت عن الكلام المباح".


والليندي شهرزاد لاتينية تمتعنا بحكاياها...وخيالها المحلّق الذي لا يبتعد كثيرا عن الواقع...بحسها المرهف...وإنسانيتها العذبة...في سرد سلس وحبكات مثيرة مشوقة...ما بين جدّ وهزل...وأمريكا اللاتينية حاضرة اجتماعيا وسياسيا بين ثنايا قصصها


الحب...الوحدة...الغموض...وكذلك الجرأة والقوة في مواجهة الظلم...هو ما يميز دوما شخصيات الليندي النسائية...وكأنها تمنحهن جزءا من قوتها وقرارها


لا خسارة أبدا ولا ندم في القراءة لإيزابيل الليندي...اختياري كتابا لها يعني الإحساس بالمتعة مسبقا


ولكن...من يقرأ الكثير من روايات الليندي سيدرك أن هذه القصص من بداياتها وسيفتقد بعضا من عمق رواياتها...وإن لم تخلو من المتعة التي عودتنا الليندي على اقتناصها مع كل كتاب لها.

بعد قراءتي لهذه المجموعة القصصية , تغيرت ألليندي في ذهني .. لقد أعجبت بها كروائية لا ككاتبة قصص قصيرة .. غاب عن القصص عنصر المفاجأة وعنصر التأمل الذي تستدعيه نهايات القصص القصيرة عادةً ..
كان فحوى بعض القصص صادماً , أعجبتني فقط القصة الأخيرة والمعنونة بـ " من طينٍ خُلقنا " , هذه القصة فقط جعلتني أتأمل ..
دور ألليندي المتقمص كشهرزاد لم يكن موفقاً في رأيي !

Збірка коротких оповідань, які мені нагадали новели ОʼГенрі, якого я так люблю. Проте в Ісабель Альєнде ці оповідання сповнені багатьох деталей інших культур, часто казковості та нереальності. Зрештою, цікаво було читати, деякі історії сподобались дуже, деякі не зайшли зовсім.

I got this as a gift in my freshman year of college and had never heard of Isabel Allende before. As soon as I started reading it I loved it, and developed a taste for Latin American literature, beyond the go-to Garcia Marquez :).

This book also helped me overcome my dubious then bias against female authors (which, in my experience up till then, were a little lacking behind their male counterparts). It proposed a relatable female heroine without placing her on a pedestal which only thinly veils attempts at self-promotion. This was something new and I loved it.

Also, the magical realism is a candid, natural one, without much emphasis on the strangeness of events. This makes the entire story refreshing and lovely.

A fascinating book!

The author should receive the Nobel Prize in Literature for writing this marvelous book!

3,5 estrellas. Hay cuentos que me han encantado pero otros que me han aburrido un poco.

Pufff es que no soy imparcial con Isabel es mi favorita. Pero vamos, es una lectura ligerita lo cual es más bueno aún. De amor y de sombras sigue estando en el top 1

والتي كثفت كم هيا كاتبة ذات أسلوب فريد … الواقعية السحرية في قالب من ألف ليلة وليلة

Taking off from the book "Eva Luna", ......Eva's lover, Rolf Carle --( A photojournalist),
writes to Eva asking her to tell him stories.
In the prologue, Carle tells Eva, that he thinks in the frozen images of a photograph--but she- Eva- thinks in words. .....
So.... while Eva is lying in bed with her European lover, the refugee from Austria, tells him 23 stories.

Isabel Allende is a 'skilled storytelling'... she portrays a world in which the ordinary and the miraculous come together ---interweaving the real and the magical.
Many themes are examined---love, family, sexuality, exploitation of women, domestic violence, political oppression, economic inequality, sympathy, revenge, and compassion.

These are powerful fiction stories -seductive sensual....and like Allende...Eva Luna is a feminist.....( and 'storyteller').

In "Simple Maria"......a prostitute believes in love, yet pursues her profession as an expression for her insatiable passion.

In "The Gold of Tomas Vargas", .... both the wife and lover of an abusive man conspire to murder him. These two women live happily together --and made their way out of poverty living off the gold that he had once horded.

In "The School Teacher's Guest", .... and elderly school teacher uses a machete to kill a man who murdered her son.

In "Walimai".... revenge is the major theme --hey young women is held captive for sexual gratification working on a jungle rubber plantation.

In "And of Clay Are We Created", .....it's so sad: A young girl is trapped in a mudslide....and Eva's lover Carle is sent via helicopter to report her rescue but is unable to maintain his photo journalist objectivity..... and he stays with her until she dies. There's so much suffering, and memories of suffering in the story. Carle stays with the girl several days before she dies - and his repressed memories of youthful suffering surfaces. This is also being televised and Eva is experiencing both of their pain by watching the television news. What really got to me is this story is based on a true story from Isabel Allende's life when she witnessed the death of Omaira Sanchez, One of the thousands of victims of Colombia's Nevada Ruiz volcanic eruption in 1985.

Other stories we see through romantic delusions - economics sexual exploitation of women - secrets and bonding of women coming together who have been tortured in similar ways by the same oppressive political regime.
Psychological post traumatic scars are revealed when women gather together. Why is this ALWAYS so powerful and healing?/!!

Absurdities- confusion in the average mind -swindlers willing to take advantage of lonely hearts.....mixed with 'goodness' - love and friendship.....These stories are seriously emotionally felt. Allende - not even 5 feet in height herself - stands TALL in her passionate beliefs in convictions.... and boy, what a GRAND imagination she has. If this book doesn't remind us of the authors brilliance- I don't know what book would!!!

POWERFUL STORIES!!!!! The whole damn collection!!!!

Había olvidado lo dura que puede llegar a ser Isabel Allende. He disfrutado de cada relato, pero por momentos sentía que tenía que taparme la cara debido al horror. Hay mucha violencia contra las mujeres y los animales en este libro, y algunas de las historias son muy truculentas.

Como con todos los libros de relatos, me pasa lo de siempre: unos me impactan y otros me dejan indiferente en el sentido de que sé que no voy a pensar más en los personajes, de ahí las tres estrellas.

قرأتهما بالتزامن لذلك قررت أن أعقد مقارنة لطيفة بينهما ولكن قبل ذلك أريد أن أوضح وجهة نظر أؤمن بها وأطبقها كثيراً عندما أقرأ مؤلفات كاتب ما وأقرأ سيرته الذاتية علماً بأن الكاتبتين ليستا بحاجة للحديث عنهما فهما غنيتان عن التعريف ولكل منهما ملايين المعجبين ومئات الجوائز الأدبية عدا المقالات التي كتبت عنهما في كل أرجاء العالم وقبل هذا وبعده بإمكانك أن تقرأ أي مؤلف لهما وستجد بنفسك أنك تقف أمام مواهب وقدرات لن تتكرر ربما لمئة عام أخرى، أما أليس مونرو فحاصلة على جائزة نوبل للآداب عام 2013 وإن كان هذا قد لا يعني البعض من حيث حبهم لأسلوبها أو عدمه ولكنه يعني أنها تحقق جميع عناصر القصة القصيرة على الأقل!

أما نظريتي فتقول بأن الإنسان إذا نشأ في بيئة صحية ولم تكون حياته مضطربة وكانت حياته إنسيابية وحصل على اهتمام ورعاية وتغذية-نعم تغذية- سليمة حسب مرحلته العمرية ولم يسافر في بداية حياته كثيراً ولم تتغير عليه البيئة وكان أهله يراعون موهبته ويهتمون بها وبتنميتها سيكون دماغه وأفكاره مرتبة بإنتظام ولن يجد صعوبة في سردها بسلاسة وهذا ما نلاحظه عند أليس مونروا...

أما من كانت حياته مضطربة وطفولته مشوشة وتعرض لصدمات نفسية عنيفة فستكون أفكاره مثل كتلة الشَعَر التي تسقط بعد أن تمشط الفتاة شعرها متشابكة ومعقدة وستجد أن تعبيره عنها إما بسيطاً للغاية وسطحي أو متذبذب وغير واضح وهذا ما نلاحظه عند إيزابيل الليندي ولكن على شكل أفكار بسيطة جداً ولكنها متتالية، لذلك نلاحظ أنها تسير عبر خط واحد طول القصة لتشعر بأنها لو خرجت قليلاً عن التسلسل لإنهارت القصة كلها ولكنها بسبب تمكنها وقوتها لم تخرج ولو مرة واحدة....

أليس مونروا عندها قدرة عجيبة على تجميدك عند موقف معين ثم أخذك بعيداً في الماضي والتاريخ ونقلك إلى مكان آخر تماماً دون أن تحس ثم ترجعك بعد عدة صفحات كأنك لم تغادر! أما إغراقك في التفاصيل الصغيرة جداً فلا أحد يقارعها فيها...

إيزابيل بدورها تأخذك عبر أسلوبها السلس فترفع من وتيرة الأحداث دون أن تشعر وبرغم كلماتها البسيطة وجملها المتتالية المترابطة إلا أنك لا تستطيع ترك القصة قبل الكلمة الأخيرة...

أما أنا فأفضل إيزابيل لأن أفكار قصصها أقرب إلى قلبي وأسلوبها كذلك، وقصصها صالحة لتلجأ إليها بعد كتاب دسم ومتعب...
