- لا بد من الإشادة اولاً بالمقدمة الجميلة للسيدة لطيفة الدليمي التي تساوي قيمتها اضعاف ما كتبه زوسكيند في الصفحات التي تلتها! وما شجعني على قراءة هذا الكتيب هو اسم "نبيل الحفار"، فانا احب طريقته في الترجمة وانا بإنتظار اعادة قراءة كافكا بترجمته التي صدرت حديثاً، لكني تفاجأت بما ترجمه هذه المرة، ليس لسوء في الترجمة بل لسوء في مضمون ما ترجم!

- حينما تكون البدايات سيئة فالنهايات ستكون كذلك، وحينما يكون المنطلق او المثال متطرفاً فالنتيجة ستكون مجتزءة وتخدم رأي الكاتب لا غير:
ثلاثة امثلة عن "الحب":
1- شابان يتضاجعان على الإشارة (جنس وغريزة)
2- كهل يشتهي نادلاً (شواذ)
3- سبعينية متزوجة بخمسيني (عقد شيطاني على رأي برناردشو)

اذا كانت هذه هي الأمثلة عن الحب فكيف ستكون النتيجة بتحليل هذه الأمثلة؟! ستكون "الحب والعشق تلازمهما كمية كبيرة من الغباء"، "ثمن الحب يدفع دائماً بخسران العقل"...

هذه النتائج المتطرفة قادت الكاتب الى فكرة الموت، ويبدأ بربط الأشخاص الذين يفضلون الموت من اجل الحب (كلايسات، تريستان وايزولدة) وينتقل الى اولئك الذين تمسكوا بالحياة وخاضوا في الموت من اجل الحب، وهنا بيت القصيد، حيث يأخذ الكاتب شخصيتين (اورفيوس والسيد المسيح!)ويخلص الى هذه النتيجة: "إن هذه الشخصية التي تحسب حساب الأمور، والمسيطرة على نفسها دائماً، والتي لم تجرفها نشوة إيروس قط، تسبغ على يسوع الناصري بروداً كبيراً وحيادية ولا انسانية. ولكن ربما كنا نطالبه بالكثير. وربما كان حقاً مجرد إله. ان اورفيوس أقرب الينا. ... وعلى الرغم من اخفاقه، بل بسببه، لقد كان اورفيوس بل شك الإنسان الأكمل" وانا اعتقد ان كل ما كتبه كان من اجل تمرير هذه الرسالة فقط!

كتاب بلا اي فائدة سوى انعاش الذاكرة بالأسماء...

I usually love mini essays like this.

Take one talented writer and two seemingly disparate topics, then settle in for a little time. You'll soon find that the two topics have been paired and grafted using some intellectual contrivance that bamboozles you, initially, but soon brainwashes you into that state few dare to allow: open-mindedness. A light goes on and your perspective shifts.

So what happened here?

Well it was all going swimmingly until he started ranting about Christ. And intellectually he was making sense. But the longer it went on for the more it just felt like he had an axe to grind. He clearly finds the notion of God quite objectionable and revelled in highlighting the Bible's contractions. He compares Orpheus and Christ. Preferring Orpheus's love. Why not Lot, whose 'turning back' is such a clear parallel? I mean, the point was that Christ's experience of death was 'theatre' or 'propaganda' for his mission to make believers. As death had no power over him. Where Orpheus travelled into death, whilst living and thereby risking death, to negotiate for one soul. I get it. But why bring up a guy who can't die and never loved (eros) in an essay like this? It's just as a whipping boy and little else. A lot could have been made (pun intended) of Lot's love for God despite the catastrophes he endured. His lost wife not the particular focus of his true love. Where for Orpheus, even with Eurydice being his sole focus, he lost her in a similar fashion. Oh well...

I'm not a Christian, but I've read the Bible many times. The issue is, Süskind seems to really believe in Christ and yet takes glee in the inconsistencies. Oh, he'll tell you he is an atheist; but he'll still argue like God's in the room. (Note to self: I should write a song with that line in!)

I've met so many people like this. Usually from a strict Christian upbringing and they're bitter about it. In later life they take delight in tearing into the sacred. It's like when you meet a misogynist and he starts going on a rant about women being evil and then, after a few pints, confesses he just wants to be held by one.

There's love of God in this essay, despite himself. Vulnerability because of it. It isn't desired, but it lingers. Seems to drive him mad. And for all his protestations, he never carried himself away from that place of vulnerability. No matter how much he argued against it. No matter how much he tried to rip it apart, I still felt it had a hold over him.

The final words of Jesus are threefold and he points this out and yet still decides to make special focus of one iteration. Wouldn't you just realise that, with the record unreliable, it is futile to build a case against Jesus using one of those instabilities? Why point to those particular final words and make a big deal of them when you have two contradictory accounts of his final words that are irrelevant to your position? Besides which, to play Jesus's advocate, he might have uttered every line before passing away anyway.

Nothing was really gained from this book as a result. It was just a rant. And a damned shame. For a better exploration of the topics and their interrelation read Knausgård. Particularly on society's shift away from encountering death over the last few centuries. He's not a perfect writer about things either but it was more enjoyable for me and he wasn't as ranty.

Derleme gibi bir kitap. Yani Özel insanların özel aforizmalarını bir araya derlemiş Süskind. En çok aklımda kalan Orpheus'la ilgili kısım oldu. Bunun dışında Patrick Süskind'a yakışan bir kitap olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Hacminden dolayı belki okunabilir tabi.

Patrick Süskind oferece aos seus leitores na obra "Sobre o amor e a morte" um interessante e conciso ensaio sobre o que é o amor, sobre a morte e o modo como o amor e a morte se relacionam.

A sua escrita segue na linha do que o autor nos tem vindo a habituar... Directo, sem demasiados rondeios, por vezes um pouco crítico e mordaz. Lê-se fluentemente, sem grande vontade de fazer pausa.

E no decorrer da exposição das suas ideias vai buscar inúmeras vezes J. W.Goethe, que eu tanto gosto, e Heinrich von Kleist, que eu vou querer conhecer um pouco melhor. Traz-nos Platão, Santo Agostinho, Orfeu e a sua Eurídice e ainda recorre, de forma muito subtil e na medida certa, para justificar o seu argumento a uma ou outra passagem dos Evangelhos.

Gostei deste "apanhado"/"revisão"/"lufada de ar fresco" cultural!

أول تجربة لي مع باتريك زوسكيند وللأمانة لم تكن تجربة سيئة بل جيدة وقد شجعتني لقراءة رواياته

الحديث عن الحب بلسان زوسكيند لابد أن يكون بطابع تهكمي، وهذا ما حدث. فالعقل والحب لا يلتقيان بالعادة، وعند الحديث عن الحب بطابع عقلاني تنقلب المعادلة فينتج نص ساخر لا يخلو من الصحة بطبيعة الحال فزوسكيند يقول أن " العشق والحب تلازمهما كمية معتبرة من الغباء"، أعتقد لا أحد يعترض على هكذا قول!. عند الموت فقدت اهتمامي بالكتاب وأصبحت الصفحات تتوالى بدون أي تركيز أو اهتمام يذكر، من الممكن أن فكرة الموت تخلو من السخرية بحد ذاتها برغم حماسته الشديدة في السخرية من الذي بحث عن محبوبة توافق الموت معه في سبيل الحب!. مقدمة الكتاب طويلة وكلي سعادة لقراءتها بعد قراءة ما كتب زوسكيند. لا أعرف لماذا أحسستها استعراض عضلات وليس تقديم لكتاب

توقعت ان احب هذا الكتاب لكن خابت توقعاتي. ربما غير مفهوم او غير مترابط او زوسكيند يكتب بين السطور (بمعنى يترك المعنى غير مكتمل لغاية ما). ما هو الترابط بين الحب والموت؟ أهو الكمال؟ يأتي الموت في ذروة الحب! كيف يكون الحب الهيا؟ بتجرده عن الأمور الدنيوية والابتعاد عن المحبوب. يتناول الكاتب عدة مواضيع بصورة مقتضبة ويعقد مقارنات وكأننا في حديث لا نسمع منه إلا طرفا واحدا لذلك يبدو الطرح غير مترابط.

لأني أحب مايكتب زوسكيند تمنيت أن تنتشر مثل هذه الكتب التي تحمل أفكار بعض الكتاب الكبار في جوانب معينة، هي بمثابة نافذة على نظرة الكاتب تجاه بعض القضايا تساعد القراء على استيعاب شخصيته وفهم أعماله بطريقة أسهل، الكتاب كما هو واضح من عنوانه يحمل نظرة باتريك زوسكيند حول الروابط بين الحب والموت، أعجبني تقديم لطيفة الدليمي للكتاب في مقدمته

تناول الحب والموت بطريقة فلسفية.
وجدته مملا ولم افهم شيء.

كتاب فلسفي الى درجة عمياء باتريك الذي امتعنا برواية العطر يناقش هنا موضوعين من اكثر المواضيع الغير ملموسة اثارة للجدل الحب و الموت
تطرق في كتابه هذا الى بعض الامثله التي ارى انها مجحفة جدا صور فيها مدى سيطرة الحب على العقل الانساني و انه قد يدفع الشخص الى القيام بأمور غير منطقية ، كما صور الموت في بعض الاساطير القديمة ..
الكتاب ليس مملا القارئ الشغوف بالفلسفة سيجده ممتعا

دراسة صغيرة عن ارتباط الحب والموت من قديم الأزل، نبرة زوسكند الفلسفية الساخرة تجعلك تحبه، والامثال التي يتناولها أصابت المعنى، واختياره للمسيح كنموذج وتفضيل بطل الإنياذة عليه يريد بهذا الانتصار لضعف الجنس البشري وقدسية الشعور.

كتاب صغير لكنه جميل.
