"A tear to unite me with those of broken heart; A smile to be a sign of my joy in existence."
A Tear and a Smile was first published in 1914 and contains 56 parables, stories, and poems. The entire book and the stories, poems are filled with lessons both happy and somber. They contain wide range of emotions and thoughts and are quite simple to understand. I don't however understand the authors love of death as can be read in "A poets death is his life". I have read a lot about Gibran. And one thing I have understood is that he romanticised death (his own indirectly through his poems) quite often in his works and in few of his paintings.
Below mentioned are just the few of the scribes in this book which I loved reading.
The Creation.
Before the Throne of Beauty.
A Lovers Call.
Song Of Man.
Song Of Love.
The Life Of Love.
Yesterday and Today.
Vision.
