Cute books. One talks of Magickal Creatures, and one of the history of Quidditch. Not heavy reads, by any stretch, but fun things for Harry Potter Fans. Also, a donation will go to help injured animals if you purchase them.

Just in case you didn't know, these are two books from J.K. Rowling's wizarding world. They are the texts that are referenced within the Harry Potter series, much akin to The Tales of Beetle the Bard. The two books are "Quidditch through the Ages" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." The books are short and sweet, packed with humorous tidbits. What makes these books great though is the world, not the content.

Through the same quippy comments, sardonic scrawls, understated violence and relentless dedication to cultural 'norms' found in folk tales about magic, Rowling finds a way to plunge her readers back into the world of the Boy Who Lived. This isn't just an add on to the series, or a spin off, it exists from within the series. With a few short pages filled with pithy comments on Fwoopers and the Kenmare Kestrels Rowling gives another chance for people to delve into one of the most beloved realms ever created.

If you love the Harry Potter series, you will love these books

I jab only read Quidditch Through The Ages thus far, but I was delighted with it. Like someone else said in their review, it was incredibly interesting to get into J.K. Rowling's mind, and learn about a sport that wizards and witches and muggles have all enjoyed. I really only have one complaint, it was far too short for my liking.

I first heard about these books when I was on the bus to school one morning. I waited a week to get Quidditch Through the Ages and eagerly devoured it. I am a huge fan of fantasy world-building, and Rowling is a master! Beasts was the second I read, waiting (a long time) for Order of the Phoenix, and it gave me a lot to think about as far as what creatures Hagrid would probably smuggle onto the Hogwarts grounds. Highly recommended books!

Ini adalah buku pelajaran Hogwarts milik Harry Potter. Di buku ini, Rowling memberikan deskripsi atas hewan2 aneh yang selama ini ada di dunia sihir maupun legenda. Misalnya saja Unicorn, Phoenix, bahkan Basilisk. Deskripsinya sangat lengkap, mulai darimana asal mereka dan cara menanganinya. Karena ini buku pelajaran Harry Potter, maka seperti kebanyakan buku pelajaran lainnya, kita akan menemukan catatan2 pinggir dari Harry maupun Ron Weasley. Oke banget deh dibaca...

Quidditch Through The Ages
Merupakan buku favorit Harry Potter. Di buku ini diceritakan sejarah awal permainan Quidditch dan kejadian bersejarah dalam Quidditch. Diceritakan pula bagaimana bentuk awal dari bola2 Quidditch dan peraturan yang berkembang dari tahun ke tahun. Pokoknya lengkap!!!! Kita jadi tahu bagaimana serunya permainan ini dan membuat semua orang tergila-gila menontonnya...

I read Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them this week. I'm reviewing this box set separately since it is the format I own. I really like the illustrations on the packaging, and having the books as a set just makes it more fun for me. And how can you not love "from the library of Hogwarts" and the wonderful royal purple color? Thus, the set gets 4 stars while each book got 3.

These books are brilliant for any Harry Potter fan who wants more insight in the wonderful world of Harry Potter.
