Alexander is a rather spoiled kitten. He has an extremely high opinion of himself and fancies himself as "Wonderful Alexander." One fine day, he decides to set off on an adventure to explore the big wide world. However, during his exploration, he gets lost and finds himself stuck in a tree, unable to come down.

Fortunately, along comes Jane, the youngest catwing. She selflessly rescues Alexander from his predicament in the tree. Alexander is deeply grateful to Jane for her kind act.

Determined to repay her, Alexander thinks long and hard about what he can do. And then, he has an idea. He uses his charm and intelligence to help Jane in a way that she never expected. With his wonderful actions, Alexander shows that even a spoiled kitten can turn into a hero when given the chance to repay a kindness.

From that day on, Alexander and Jane become the best of friends, and their bond grows stronger with each passing day.

I read the first two Catwings books a long time ago when I was little. It was such a wonderful experience. Just recently, I found out that there are two more books in the series that I never read. I simply had to fix that because I loved reading the two that I had over and over again, so many years ago.

These books are super cute. The characters are charming and the storylines are engaging. The art in the books is very good as well. It really brings the story to life. The story is perfect for small children. It can capture their imaginations and make them fall in love with the cats in the books. It's also a great way to make more cat lovers.

Overall, I would rate these books 5/5 stars. They are a great addition to any child's bookshelf and are sure to provide hours of entertainment. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves cute stories and beautiful art.

The story had been building up with such great anticipation. The characters were well-developed, and the plot had me on the edge of my seat. However, when it came to the ending, it felt rushed and incomplete.

There, the children's mother greeted him. "Oh," she said, "what a wonderful tail! What a wonderful kitten!" And she scratched him under the chin.

"What an intelligent woman," Alexander thought.

Sweet book, but…

There is a major issue that cannot be ignored. One of the characters, a girl cat, has been so traumatized that she has been unable to speak since we last saw her in the previous book. The situation takes a disturbing turn when a boy cat sits on her and bites her, not allowing her to escape until she is physically forced to speak for the first time in years or perhaps ever. This is not only unacceptable but also raises serious questions about consent and the treatment of such a sensitive topic. It feels eerily similar to a guy forcing sex on a lesbian to "change her mind", which is an extremely inappropriate and offensive comparison. What makes it even worse is that the book seems to present this as a good and normal thing, treating the boy who attacked and physically restrained the traumatized girl to force her to speak as some sort of hero. This is a huge red flag and a big "No thanks" from me. It completely undermines the importance of consent and the proper handling of trauma in a story.
