The most wholesome cat book I have ever read.

I vividly remember loving this book as a kid, and it has truly aged beautifully over the years.

It is on the same level of wholesomeness as the beloved Frog and Toad series.

The story is filled with charming illustrations and heartwarming tales that capture the essence of a cat's life.

Each page is a delight to turn, and the characters are so endearing that you can't help but fall in love with them.

Whether it's the mischievous antics of the cat or its moments of quiet reflection, this book has it all.

It is a must-read for cat lovers of all ages and a wonderful addition to any bookshelf.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a feel-good read that will warm their heart and bring a smile to their face.

This was a Le Guin I missed. It was sitting on the shelf, and for some reason, I overlooked it. But then, a thought crossed my mind, and I picked it up to see if my reading group would enjoy it. As it turns out, it's all about cats.

The concept of catwings was indeed intriguing. The idea of cats having wings and being able to fly was something that could have captured the imagination. However, the stories themselves didn't quite hold my attention. My mind wandered a lot while reading.

Another factor that influenced my decision not to include it in our chapterbook choices was the fact that the parents of my reading group all have boxes full of reasons why their offspring cannot have pets, especially cats. There are just so many books out there, and I wanted to choose one that wouldn't cause any unnecessary headaches or requests.

So, I'll be on the lookout for another Le Guin to read with my kiddos. One that won't have them begging for a kitty right away. I'm sure there's another gem out there waiting to be discovered.

Catwings is a charmingly sweet little book.

I have a deep affection for pretty much everything that Ursula Le Guin writes. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that I also have a great liking for her fiction specifically targeted at young children.

This book seems to be an excellent choice for reading aloud. The words flow smoothly, and the story is engaging, making it perfect for captivating the attention of young listeners.

Moreover, it is enhanced by the presence of lovely pictures. These illustrations bring the story to life, adding an extra layer of visual appeal.

And let's not forget the main characters - the cats! With their wings, they embark on exciting adventures, which is sure to spark the imagination of young readers.

Overall, Catwings is a delightful book that combines a charming story, beautiful illustrations, and the magic of winged cats to create a truly enchanting reading experience for children.

Honestly, I've never thought about cats with two wings before! It's such a strange and interesting concept. But you need to know that their wings are furry, which makes them even more unique. I'm a cat person through and through. So, if anything goes for cats, I'll be in love with it without a doubt.

These winged cats seem like something out of a fairytale or a fantasy world. I can just imagine them flying around gracefully, their furry wings fluttering in the wind. It would be a sight to behold.

I wonder what it would be like to have a winged cat as a pet. Would they be as playful and affectionate as regular cats? Or would their wings give them a whole new set of behaviors and characteristics? I'm definitely intrigued and would love to learn more about these fascinating creatures.

Another perfect little modern fable for bedtime stories.

This time, the subject is a group of cats that are born with wings. They are sweet and charming, and Le Guin is truly a master at this type of storytelling.

The art in this fable is delightful as well, and it is very evocative of early 20th century children's literature.

There are a lot of complex social concepts presented for children in a context that makes them easily digestible.

Le Guin is (sorry, it's still so recent) … was a genius. Her ability to create these wonderful fables that both entertain and teach is truly remarkable.

Children will love the story of the winged cats and will also learn valuable lessons about society and life.

It's a great addition to any bedtime story collection and a must-read for fans of Le Guin's work.

I saw this book at the library and was immediately reminded of my childhood. It brought back a flood of memories and a strong sense of nostalgia. Rereading it was like taking a trip down memory lane. What a sweet book it is! It is perfectly astute with its words. "Mother always said that if you found the right kind of Hands, you'd never have to hunt again. But if you found the wrong kind, it would be worse than dogs." Isn't that a perfect summary of all humankind, in a way? It makes you think about the importance of choosing the right people in our lives. The right hands can guide us, support us, and help us achieve our goals. On the other hand, the wrong hands can lead us astray, cause us pain, and make our lives more difficult. This simple yet profound statement holds a lot of truth and wisdom.

I cannot believe she wrote these. They were my favorite series in 2nd grade.

It seems almost不可思议 that she is the author of these wonderful works. Back in 2nd grade, these books were like my constant companions. I would eagerly devour each page, getting lost in the magical worlds and exciting adventures they contained.

Every character felt so real to me, and I would imagine myself right there beside them, sharing in their joys and sorrows. The stories had a special charm that captured my young heart and imagination.

Now, to discover that she is the one who brought these beloved tales to life makes me feel a strange mix of excitement and nostalgia. It's as if a piece of my childhood has been reconnected in the most unexpected way. I can't wait to explore more of her works and see what other amazing stories she has in store for us.

Mrs. Tabby has four little kittens.

Surprisingly, each of them was born with wings!

Mrs. Tabby is extremely happy because now her precious little ones have the ability to fly away from her home in the big, bustling city.

She dreams that they can journey to the country, a place far away from the chaos and noise.

There, she hopes they can live a happy and peaceful life, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and fresh air.

The thought of her kittens having a better future makes her heart full of joy and anticipation.

She can already picture them playing freely in the fields, exploring the woods, and making new friends.

Mrs. Tabby knows that although they will be far away, she will always love them and wish them well on their new adventure.

This is the first time I’ve read a children’s book by Le Guin. It’s obviously nothing like her adult fiction.

Her adult works are often complex and profound, delving into deep themes and exploring the human condition in a thought-provoking way. However, this children’s book has a different charm.

It’s filled with simple yet engaging stories that are sure to capture the imagination of young readers. The language is easy to understand, and the illustrations add an extra layer of appeal.

It’s hard for me to be objective when it comes to rating children’s literature, as I now lack the perspective of a child. But I can see that this book has the potential to be a favorite among kids.

It teaches valuable lessons about kindness, friendship, and courage in a fun and accessible way.

I would recommend this book to parents and teachers looking for quality children’s literature.

What took me such a long time to read these books? I have no clue at all.

However, they are truly perfect for my 8-year-old. He said they're really great!

I did a second read, this time in audio format. I discovered these books on Libby through one of my libraries, as I remembered to search for them.

The illustrations in the books are extremely lovely. Moreover, the audiobook is also fantastic because it is read by Le Guin herself.

The book has a cozy and cute atmosphere, and there is a hint of danger as well. It is presented in Le Guin's signature style.

I really wish she had written more children's books.

It would be wonderful to have more of her works in this genre to enjoy.

The combination of the engaging story, beautiful illustrations, and Le Guin's own narration makes these books a real delight.

I'm sure my 8-year-old will continue to love them and perhaps even pass them on to the next generation.

Simply beautiful. Le Guin's love for cats shines through in her work as she captures their essence perfectly. She takes the ordinary and transforms it into something extraordinary by giving the cats wings. It's a magical concept that adds an element of wonder and fantasy. The idea of cats with wings is both charming and captivating. It makes you imagine these graceful creatures soaring through the sky, defying the laws of gravity. What's not to like about such a unique and imaginative creation? It's a testament to Le Guin's creativity and her ability to bring the ordinary to life in the most extraordinary ways.
