A stray cat's litter is born with wings, which allows them to flee the city and seek the questionable safety of the countryside. I have always had difficulties with fictional portrayals of cats. They often seem like pastiches, romanticizing outdated and even unsafe practices. This story is no exception to that rule. However, it is not as bad as some others. What balances it out is its incredibly short length and a premise that makes me understand why romanticized pastiches exist.

Cats are already perfect as they are and cannot be improved upon. But the idea of a winged cat, with its whimsy and beauty, is truly a delight. The illustrations in the story also add to its charm. Although the story may have its flaws in terms of romanticizing certain aspects, it still manages to capture the imagination and bring a sense of wonder.

Overall, while it may not be a perfect piece of fiction, it does have its redeeming qualities that make it worth reading.

A very short story of less than 30 pages about some cats that were born with wings and go to discover the world and arrive at a forest... It will be liked by the youngest. Rating: 6/10 (I'm generous, I like cats haha). Synopsis: Nothing whets the appetite like flying, so the four little cats were almost fainting when they landed in the forests. Who knows how far they had flown from the city, from under the dumpster where they were born. And in fact, who can know the reason why those cats had wings to fly. Mrs. Juana Rayas, their mother, couldn't explain it, but when life on the streets became too dangerous, she knew that one day the dream she had for her children would come true: her Thelma, her Jacinta, her Rogelio, and her Jaime would open their wings if necessary and fly far away, over the alley, over the rooftops, far away.

And the day came and they flew together. But what the four cats found in the forests was at the same time more terrifying and more beautiful than what their mother had dreamed. #6 - A book with a pet as a character. Popsugar 2023 Challenge

I'm just glad my fat cats can't fly.

You see, my two cats are rather on the plump side. They love to laze around the house all day, doing nothing but eating and sleeping.

If they could fly, I can just imagine the chaos they would cause. They might fly up to the ceiling and get stuck, or worse, they could accidentally fly out of the window and get lost.

As it is, their inability to fly keeps them safely on the ground, where I can keep an eye on them. I love my fat cats just the way they are, and I'm happy that they can't take to the skies and cause any mischief.

Childhood is a precious time filled with wonder and imagination. For me, it was made even more special by learning about the works of Ursula K. Le Guin.

Her stories transported me to different worlds and introduced me to unique characters and ideas. Through her writing, I was able to explore themes such as morality, identity, and the power of language.

Le Guin's ability to create vivid and complex universes allowed me to expand my own creativity and think beyond the boundaries of my everyday life.

Learning about her work not only enhanced my love for reading but also influenced my perspective on the world around me.

It taught me to question the status quo and to look for hidden meanings and possibilities in everything.

Even as I have grown older, the lessons I learned from Le Guin's stories continue to stay with me, serving as a reminder of the importance of imagination and the power of storytelling.
