Yōko Kamio (神尾葉子) is a popular Japanese manga artist and writer. She is most famous for Boys Over Flowers (花より男子, Hana Yori Dango?), for which she received the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1996. Her work has been translated and distributed in Asia, Europe, and North America.

Yōko Kamio readily admits that she had no intention of becoming a professional manga artist when she was young. Kamio originally went to secretarial school, but her love of drawing soon led her astray. She then eventually entered the professional mangaka field in 1989. In the following years, Kamio published Suki Suki Daisuki, Ano Hi ni Aitai, and Meri-san no Hijitsu in Margaret before she finally created Hana Yori Dango in 1992.

The Hana Yori Dango manga became established relatively quickly in Japan. Many people commended Kamio for her realistic portrayal of high school life and everyday violence through the Hana Yori Dango series. Although Kamio was initially surprised by the confessions of high school violence stated in fan letters, she realized that Tsukushi's fiery character served as a role model for much of Japan's youth and helped others cope with school violence.

Kamio watched as the success of Hana Yori Dango's 1992 début followed through with many more months on the best-sellers list. Voice CDs by SMAP and a live action movie about Hanadan charted the series success in the mid-1990s. By 1995, an animated series for Hana Yori Dango was already in progress and Kamio had also helped pick main leads for the anime show.

Hana Yori Dango ran in the Japanese Margaret magazine as well as the Korean Wink. The series has also been published in Japanese, Chinese, Cantonese, Thai, Korean, French, and English. The anime series has been broadcasted in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Italy, and has also been licensed and released in the United States. Additionally, it was also recreated in a Game Boy Color game (only released in Japan) during the summer of 2001. With its ever-increasing popularity, Hana Yori Dango was then made into a popular live action TV series in Taiwan titled Meteor Garden. The manga series finally ended in Margaret's August 2003 issue, and the 36th tankōbon which included the Akira special "Night of the Crescent Moon" was released in January 2004 as the manga's final volume.

While Yoko Kamio initially wanted Hanazawa Rui to be the main hero of Hana Yori Dango, due to the outstanding personality of Domyoji Tsukasa (and Domyoji also becoming more popular than Rui) she changed the hero role to Domyoji.

Despite Hana Yori Dango's success, Kamio had originally planned to end the series by Spring 2000. However, in February 2000, at a mangaka conference in Taipei, Taiwan Kamio announced that she would continue writing Hana Yori Dango. At one point, she got so wrapped up in the Hana Yori Dango storyline, that she confessed to having dreams about Doumyouji. Of course, she said that "Falling in love with a character that I created is just disgusting..."

He he he! I really, truly liked that ending.

This is an extremely funny manga. Domyoji and Tsukushi are simply amazing. Even though he's acting with a sister complex, it adds an interesting layer to their relationship.

And Rui, he's just there to spice things up between the two main characters. His presence creates more drama and excitement.

I love this manga so much! It's like a delicious treat that keeps me entertained from start to finish.

In fact, I think this is a better soap-opera than The Royals series. It has more engaging characters, a more interesting plot, and more emotional depth.

I can't wait to see what happens next in the story of Domyoji and Tsukushi.

Doumyouji and the girl are having a heated argument.
Doumyouji asks the girl what she doesn't like about him, boasting that there is no one as perfect as him in the world.
The girl responds by saying she hates his stupidity, his strange hair, his wearing of street clothes on campus, his arrogance, his snake-like eyes, and absolutely everything about him.

It's so interesting to see how their relationship is developing. Doumyouji seems to be falling in love with the girl unconsciously. He even irons his hair and does everything to bother her. I love that boy so much. Although Riu is also a cute and serious guy, it's a dilemma for me.

I like the girl because she looks weak but is actually very strong. And Doumyouji's jealous and naughty attitude just kills me. I also like Riu, who is so serious and reserved. In conclusion, I like all the F4 members.

Toxic. LOVE

Love is supposed to be a beautiful and wonderful thing. However, there is such a thing as toxic love. Toxic love can be extremely harmful and destructive.

Toxic love often involves controlling behavior. One person may try to control every aspect of the other's life, dictating what they can do, who they can see, and even what they can think. This kind of control can make the other person feel trapped and suffocated.

Another characteristic of toxic love is constant criticism. The person in the relationship may be constantly put down, made to feel inadequate, and criticized for every little thing. This can damage the self-esteem and confidence of the other person.

Toxic love can also involve emotional abuse. The person may use words or actions to hurt the other person emotionally, such as yelling, name-calling, or withholding affection. This kind of abuse can leave deep emotional scars and make it difficult for the person to trust and love again.

In conclusion, toxic love is a very real and serious problem. It is important to recognize the signs of toxic love and get out of the relationship as soon as possible to protect your physical and emotional health.

I really enjoyed the teen drama. It has been a great source of entertainment for me.

One of the things that made it even more enjoyable was the additions of Shizuka and Kazuya. These two characters bring a new dimension to the series.

Shizuka is a kind and gentle character, and her presence adds a touch of warmth to the show. Kazuya, on the other hand, is more outgoing and energetic, and he provides a lot of comic relief.

Together, Shizuka and Kazuya create a great dynamic that makes the series even more engaging. I am hopeful that they will continue to add to the story and bring even more warmth and entertainment to the viewers.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two characters and for the series as a whole.

So over the top cheesy!

It's like a cheesy extravaganza that just keeps going and going. Every moment is filled with that ooey-gooey, deliciously cheesy goodness.

But boy do I love cheese! There's something about the rich, creamy texture and the unique flavor that makes it impossible to resist.

Whether it's melted on top of a pizza, grated over a pasta dish, or simply eaten on its own, cheese always manages to bring a smile to my face.

I can't get enough of it. It's like a magical ingredient that can transform any ordinary meal into a mouthwatering masterpiece.

So, even though it may be over the top cheesy, I wouldn't have it any other way. I'll continue to embrace my love for cheese and enjoy every cheesy moment that comes my way.

My thoughts on this volume and the rest of the series are in my review for volume 1.

I have carefully read this volume and compared it with the others in the series. The story continues to unfold in an interesting way, with new characters and plot twists emerging.

The writing style remains consistent, which helps to maintain the overall atmosphere of the series. However, I did notice that some of the pacing could have been improved in this volume.

Despite these minor flaws, I still highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy novels. The world-building is excellent, and the characters are well-developed and engaging.

I look forward to reading the next volume and seeing how the story progresses.

The cover features penguins. That alone is likely to be worth an extra star, isn't it?

Shizuka is extremely cute. I completely understand why people are so enamored with her.

However, the bullying depicted in this book is seriously terrifying. I'm not really sure if I'll be able to buy into any love story that occurs between Tsukushi and any of the F4. It seems rather hard to believe considering the intense and often cruel bullying that Tsukushi endures. The actions of the F4 towards her are so extreme that it makes one question the authenticity of any potential romantic connection.

Despite the cuteness of Shizuka and the allure of the cover with the penguins, the presence of such可怕的bullying really impacts one's perception of the story. It makes it difficult to simply overlook and embrace the idea of a love story developing in such a hostile environment.

Wait,

in the manga, Makino's parents went on a summer vacation outing. It was quite funny as the place they went to was for "oldies" and the young ones like Makino were ogled at by these oldies. Lol.

The scene when Doumyuji and Rui were fighting over Makino at the cafeteria didn't seem like a big deal in the manga. And Doumyuji's visit to Makino's house when she got sick was extremely short. I haven't really felt that he liked her at this point in the manga. This is unlike the live adaptations where it was clearly obvious that he was into Makino during this time. In the live-action versions, the actors' expressions and actions made it very clear that Doumyuji had feelings for Makino. However, in the manga, it's a bit more subtle and not as easily distinguishable. Maybe as the story progresses in the manga, it will become more evident how Doumyuji truly feels about Makino.
