This is the first volume of the long-awaited new horror manga series from the critically acclaimed creator of Uzumaki. The young couple Tadashi and Kaori are vacationing in Okinawa, but instead of enjoying their time, they bicker endlessly about such insignificant topics as Tadashi's bad breath. The source of the stench, though, may actually be something quite different. When a strange walking fish appears, Tadashi and Kaori know something's amiss. And when a Great White Shark attacks — again, walking — their mundane complaints quickly pale in comparison.

His comics are celebrated for their finely depicted body horrors, while also retaining some elements of psychological horror and erotism.
Although he mostly produces short stories, Ito is best known for his longer comic series: Tomie (1987-2000), about a beautiful high school girl who inspires her admirers to commit atrocities; Uzumaki (1998-1999), set in a town cursed with spiral patterns; Gyo (2001-2002), featuring a horde of metal-legged undead fishes. I love such diseases. :)

It might seem strange to say that one loves diseases, but perhaps there is a certain allure or curiosity that comes with them. Maybe it's the challenge of understanding the human body's response to illness, or the opportunity to learn more about medical science.

Some people might find a sense of purpose in studying diseases, working towards finding cures or better treatments. Others might simply be intrigued by the complexity and variety of different ailments.

Of course, it's important to note that loving diseases doesn't mean wishing them upon others or not taking them seriously. It's just a different perspective on something that is often seen as negative.

In conclusion, while it may be an unusual sentiment, there are those who have a strange kind of affection for diseases.

Trigger Warnings: Blood, Gore, Sickness, Death of animals, Death of humans.

I chanced upon this on Scribd and decided to give it a read.

UMMM WOW.. This was truly disturbing. It's astonishing to think that I would actually love reading a book where walking dead fish have taken over Japan. The plot line is crazy indeed, yet it intrigues me to such an extent that I am determined to continue with book 2.

Junji Ito has done it once again. This is undeniably his work.

We follow a couple, Tadashi and Kaori, who took a trip to Okinawa. While there, they start to smell an awful stench. Then, dead fish begin to appear everywhere. The couple attempts to escape the unfolding disaster by making their way back home. However, to their horror, they discover that they are not safe even there.

This story is dark and gruesome. The more I read this book, the more I can almost vividly smell the putrid odor. It's a captivating and yet extremely unsettling read that keeps you on the edge of your seat, eager to know what will happen next.

**Title: The Importance of Recycling**

Recycling is of utmost importance in today's world.

It helps to conserve natural resources, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste.

By recycling materials such as paper, plastic, metal, and glass, we can prevent them from ending up in landfills or being incinerated.

This not only saves space but also reduces the harmful emissions that are released during the disposal process.

Moreover, recycling can create jobs and boost the economy.

It provides employment opportunities in the collection, sorting, and processing of recycled materials.

In addition, it can also reduce the need for virgin materials, which can be expensive and difficult to obtain.

Therefore, it is essential that we all do our part to recycle and make a positive impact on the environment and society.

Let's start by separating our waste and recycling as much as possible.

Every little bit counts and together we can make a big difference. ★★★½

The incredibly campy classic comic by Junji Ito is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

If you've ever come across those weird black and white drawings of a shark on legs terrorizing a small town, chances are it's from this very comic. I simply had to give it a try to understand the origin of those captivating images.

Gyo is a prime example of Junji Ito's vintage style. It follows the story of a bickering couple who find themselves stranded in a seaside town. Their vacation and constant arguments over bad breath are suddenly disrupted when aquatic creatures start invading their property.

At first, it's a strange lung fish, which leads to a rather silly fight scene with the creature getting stuck in a trash bag. However, as the story progresses and it graduates to a ten-foot shark storming the beach, the art takes on a whole new level of intensity. You can clearly see why Junji Ito created this masterpiece in the first place.

Frankly, by the end of this book, a massive shark on mechanical legs rampaging through an apartment building seems almost tame. This is Junji Ito we're talking about, and he never fails to deliver the gross and the weird.

The chase scenes are a perfect blend of tension and bizarreness. The fear of a shark on legs is almost childlike, and the plotting suits it perfectly. As the overwhelmed characters try to find ways to barricade themselves against the giant, hungry fish, the only cop is quickly dispatched by a hammerhead in just one page. The girlfriend is almost always in a state of hysteria, driven by a nearly superhuman sense of smell that alerts her to the presence of walking fish. While this seems like it will surely matter to the plot eventually, in the short term, it reduces her to a typical Horror cliche.

You basically overlook the trite characterization in order to fully immerse yourself in the Body Horror. And boy, does this comic go there with full force.
