This was significantly better than the last one. I absolutely loathe Raito so much, lol. But finally, we get to see more of Near. I love that. It's almost as if he's related to L.

For some reason, I wish Raito's dad could have known that his son was Kira. I mean, it was good for him that he died in peace, but it makes me wonder if the shock on his dad's face would have had any impact on him? Also, why did it seem like the people at HQ, the NPA, were so dumb? Or can manipulation really be that profound?

I don't think I find Amane Misa stupid or annoying. I just feel incredibly bad for her, and it makes me want to see Kira getting caught with capital punishment or something.

Also, Sidhou was so cute! Naive and innocent, haha. On another note, he kind of reminded me of this character from a Bollywood movie PK, PK.

Also, this Ryuuk is starting to get annoying. It's not even endearing like when he ate apples, lol. Someone did say it right, boredom leads to all sorts of evil because I suddenly remembered that this whole thing happened because Raito and the shinigami were just bored.

There isn't too much to say about this book that I didn't say about the last one. However, there is one topic that I've woefully neglected: Light's father.

Light's father is one of the two people in the series - Matsuda being the other - who does what he does because he wants what's best for everyone. In a series where all three major powers (Light, Near, and Mello) are cold, calculating, and apathetic, it's truly refreshing to see some humanity. Light's dad is a minor character, but his scenes are always among my favorites. Moreover, it adds an interesting angle to Light's character arc. Since Light is forced to deal with someone who's human, the fact that Chief Yagami is empathetic and has a conscience makes him unpredictable to Light. This, of course, is why Light . The end to Chief Yagami's arc came in this episode, and it was a fitting ending. It's the closest this series ever comes to something poignant, and it was a nice change of pace.

Other than that, it's mostly the same shenanigans as before. Light continues to display that he's an idiot to Near, inadvertently playing directly into Near's hands as each of his plans fail. It's suspenseful and all, but it's all stuff I've commented on before. My only other observation is that I'm fast approaching the end of the series. I mean, I already know how it ends from the anime, but it's a good ending, and I'm excited to get there in the manga.

I am becoming less and less of a fan of this story. In my opinion, it has been going in all directions a bit too much since the second volume.

This one was still better than the previous one in my view, but it remains less interesting than the beginning of the saga.

The plot seems to have lost some of its initial charm and focus. It feels like the author is trying to cram too many elements and storylines into each volume, which makes it a bit chaotic at times.

However, I still have some hope that the story will redeem itself in the future volumes. Maybe the author will be able to bring everything together and create a more cohesive and engaging narrative.

Overall, while this volume was an improvement, it still didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'll have to wait and see what the next installment has in store.

I'm still really enjoying this series. However, the continuous cat-and-mouse game between Near and Mello is starting to get a bit tiring. Near is just way too clever. It almost seems as if he's being overly and obviously used as a speculative tool by Ohba. It feels like Ohba is trying to convey his intentions to the reader through Near in a rather blatant way. This aspect is somewhat detracting from the overall enjoyment of the story. I hope that as the series progresses, there will be more depth and less of this obvious manipulation of the characters to drive the plot.

Near is truly so cute. His appearance and mannerisms are endearing.

However, my bae is not L. And it really feels that it'll never be the same without him.

L has a special charm and presence that is irreplaceable. The way he thinks, the way he approaches situations, it all makes him unique.

Although Near is cute in his own way, he just doesn't have that same hold on my heart as L does.

Every moment spent with L was filled with excitement and anticipation. His intelligence and wit always kept me on my toes.

Without him, everything seems a little duller, a little less interesting. I long for the days when we were together, sharing our thoughts and dreams.

I know that I have to move on, but it's not going to be easy. L will always have a special place in my heart.

Death Note is a captivating manga series that has gained a significant following. Each volume offers a unique and thrilling story.

The first volume, "Boredom," sets the stage with a mysterious death note that falls into the hands of a high school student. The story then progresses through various volumes, such as "Confluence," "Hard Run," and "Love," each exploring different aspects of the power and consequences of the death note.

Some volumes receive higher ratings than others, with "Death Note, Vol. 1: Boredom," "Vol. 3: Hard Run," "Vol. 6: Give-and-Take," "Vol. 7: Zero," "Vol. 10: Deletion," and "Vol. 11: Kindred Spirits" all receiving four-star ratings. These volumes likely offer more engaging plots, character development, or twists.

The series is represented by a Japanese cast and set in a Japanese setting, adding to its authenticity and cultural appeal.

Ok, I admit that I read it extremely quickly because I skipped through it. The reason is that I have already seen the anime.

To be honest, Light is truly inhuman. His father has passed away, yet he still keeps thinking about that notebook. It's really astonishing.

I am glad that Near and Mello have managed to find something regarding Kira. I have great hope for them. However, I still miss L. L was such an outstanding and intelligent character. His presence added a lot of excitement and mystery to the story. Without him, the story just doesn't feel the same. I really hope that Near and Mello can continue L's work and finally solve the mystery of Kira.

Overall, although I have already known the general plot through the anime, reading the text still gives me a different kind of experience. It makes me think more deeply about the characters and the story.

The movie I watched recently really disappointed me.

The plot keeps on dragging, making it a real struggle to sit through.

It seems as if the director had no sense of pacing and just let the story unfold at a snail's pace.

There were so many unnecessary scenes and long pauses that could have been easily cut out to make the movie more engaging.

The characters also lacked depth and development, which made it hard for me to care about what was happening to them.

Overall, I would not recommend this movie to anyone looking for an exciting and entertaining experience.

It's a real shame because the concept had potential, but it was completely wasted due to the poor execution of the plot.

I hope that the director learns from this mistake and focuses on improving the pacing and character development in future projects.

Light is truly quite heartless. Even after the tragic death of his father, he continues with business as usual.

Perhaps his values and his unwavering sense of justice hold more significance for him than human relationships. It makes one wonder if he is willing to sacrifice everything for what he believes in.

But for me, it is always fascinating to delve into the minds of people like Light, Near, and Mello. Their thought processes are so incredibly clever and calculating. It's almost as if they are playing a complex game of chess with the world, always one step ahead.

Studying their actions and decisions allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the human psyche and the lengths to which some will go to achieve their goals.

It makes for a captivating exploration that keeps us on the edge of our seats, eager to see what will happen next.

Death Note, Vol. 9: Contact (Death Note, #9) by Tsugumi Ohba is a captivating installment in the series.

Contact in this volume refers to multiple aspects. Light and Ryuk have contact with the members of the task force, adding an element of mystery and tension. Sayu's contact with sunlight is also a significant detail.

The verification process involves checking and verifying battle plans, which is crucial for the unfolding plot. The title "Contact" mainly applies to the last two pages, creating anticipation and curiosity among readers.

Mello and Soichiro find themselves in cornered positions, adding to the drama. Ohba's addition about using a kanji character for "mano a mano" if available shows his attention to detail.

The acknowledgement by the United States Government accepting Kira and Light's admission that killing is morally wrong is a thought-provoking aspect.

The question of use is also explored, such as whether Near is using Mello, Light is using the investigation team, or Demegawa is using Sakura TV to shift public opinion.

Light and Near make predictions, with Light predicting Mello's actions and Near predicting the falsehood of the 13-day rule. Ohba's reasoning for making the predictions correct to move the plot forward is interesting.

The concept of lies is introduced when a character verbally acknowledges that Light is lying. The conversations between Light and Near are intense as they try to uncover the truth about each other.

Overall, this volume of Death Note is filled with intrigue, complex characters, and a thought-provoking plot that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.

All the strategies and planning that Mello and Light utilized in their intense stand-off in the US were truly epic.

It was a battle of wits and wills, with each side constantly trying to outmaneuver the other.

And let's not forget the tragic loss of one of the best characters. Light's reaction to his death was rather cold, as he said, "That’s important too, but there’s something much more important now. Write Mello’s name down in the notebook…" His priorities seemed completely out of whack.

It was super interesting to observe how Near and Mello both helped and competed with each other in their efforts to corner Kira.

Their complex relationship added an extra layer of intrigue to the story.

And it was really cool to see how Light took advantage of society's support for Kira to further his own goals.

This showed the true hypocrisy, contradiction, and selfishness of Kira's so-called way of imparting justice.

The whole situation provided a lot of food for thought and made for some very thoughtful commentary.
