**A Passionate and Emotional Read!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**

Brenda Joyce's DeWarrenne Dynasty Series is some of the best books I've ever read. I loved them all. This was an incredible journey, just as I had expected. Brenda Joyce has never disappointed me and now I just love the author more.

Amanda's character was most definitely spirited and loveable. A young girl down on her luck, who comes across a knight in shining armor in the form of Cliff. Cliff was just a wonderful caring hero, much respect to him trying to do right by Amanda.

Cliff is an awesome hero. And he is a father! His kids are adorable! He is strong, arrogant, caring, powerful and kind. Amanda is a wonderful, one of a kind heroine. She is courageous, beautiful and fun.

I loved this book! Cliff de Warrene is absolutely the perfect prince charming/gentleman even though in the book it states many times that he was a rogue. It is a true Cinderella story. Amanda, now an orphan, is whisked away by the biggest rake of all time. A man determined not to ever marry has met his match.

Have the tissue ready for this book. It is full of laughter, romance, courage, and misunderstandings, all the way to the end. A beautiful historical romance.

It truly is a captivating read that will keep you engaged from start to finish. The characters are so well-developed that you can't help but fall in love with them. The story is filled with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good historical romance. It is a must-read!

Whether you are a fan of Brenda Joyce or just looking for a new and exciting book to read, this is definitely one that you don't want to miss. So, go ahead and pick up a copy today and get ready to be swept away into a world of love and adventure.

Great read!

I really enjoyed this book a great deal. Cliff is truly the perfect alpha male. He has all the qualities that one would expect from such a character - strong, confident, and yet with a soft side that only Amanda can bring out.

Amanda, on the other hand, is the perfect mate for him. She is intelligent, independent, and able to stand up to Cliff when needed. Their relationship is a joy to read about as they navigate the challenges and obstacles that come their way.

The DeWerene family is also a wonderful addition to the story. They are a loving, kind, and not typical English society in many ways. They add depth and complexity to the plot and make the story even more engaging.

I have read the complete series several times and still enjoy each book. The writing is excellent, the characters are well-developed, and the storylines are interesting and engaging. I highly recommend this series to historical romance readers. It is a must-read for anyone who loves a good romance set in a historical context.

This story seemed to have all the elements that I typically adore in a HR (Historical Romance) book. There was a charming and dashing rakehell privateer who took on a 'wild child' orphaned innocent tomboy as his ward and set out to tutor her in the ways of becoming a refined lady. However, unfortunately, the writing completely spoiled it for me.

There was an excessive amount of unnecessary repetition, the world-building was rather sloppy, the phrasing was awkward, and the dialogue was stilted and flat. Some of it didn't even make sense. The overly dramatic 'she cried', 'he cried', 'she breathed' became extremely annoying. It was just too much like a soap opera. I could have forgiven it if it was used sparingly, but it was everywhere, especially towards the end. Cliff randomly 'crying out' for no apparent reason while carrying her to bed was just baffling. What exactly did he cry out? Did he stub his toe?

Moreover, I can't think of any experienced rake who blushes as frequently as the hero, Cliff de Warrene, does in this book. It was almost comical. Did he have rosacea? The number of times he blushed and got flustered seemed extremely odd and unrealistic. He was a world-renowned rake who had traveled the globe and lived on the sea for most of his adult life. There should be very little that could make this guy blush. It constantly pulled me out of the story and disrupted my immersion. And what about the love scenes?

They were lackluster. The author dragged things out at a snail's pace and came up with ridiculous and contrived reasons to keep the couple apart, only to offer a half-page, glossed-over reunion. After all that build-up? It was a big disappointment. I'm a person who loves details, and the author's writing style was just too loose and shallow for my taste.

However, I am intrigued enough by Cliff's brooding older brother, Rex, who seems to be entranced by Lady Harrington. So, I will give the next book a try if I can manage to find it. But I really wish the writing was stronger and had more depth.

This held me in a pretty tight grip until about 88%.

At this point, the hero, who was dashing, kind, and as honorable as a man with two illegitimate children could be but was determined to avoid love and marriage, did something predictably idiotic.

Shortly afterwards, at about 92%, the heroine also did something impulsive, idiotic, criminal, and crazy.

This is the part I’d like to howl about because for most of this book, Amanda, the heroine, was well-nigh perfect.

She was loyal, resourceful, intelligent, intuitive, occasionally naive, courageous, and caring. This little 17-year-old was truly impressive. Very little got by her.

She was totally sympathetic and likable, which is precisely why her uncharacteristic and decidedly dubious actions at the end were so disappointing.

Moreover, the epilogue was completely pointless.

However, 88% of a terrific novel is nothing to sneeze at. So, it still deserves a solid four stars.

Bingo card progress: age gap romance.

Dashing Cliff de Warenne rescues the pirate daughter just as her father is about to be hanged. He takes her back to England to her mother, but her mother refuses to acknowledge her.

And so, the story begins. It is always fascinating to read a pirate or privateer love story. The elements of adventure, danger, and forbidden love make it a captivating genre. In this story, we can imagine the turmoil in the heart of the pirate daughter as she is torn between her loyalty to her father and her newfound connection with Cliff.

Cliff, on the other hand, is a brave and noble character who risks everything to save the girl. We can anticipate the challenges and obstacles that they will face as they try to overcome the prejudices and obstacles in their path.

This story has all the ingredients of a classic romance, and we can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Amanda is the daughter of a pirate and she sang Heroine. The hero, Cliff, is a 28-year-old widower who already has two children.

Because Amanda's father was caught and sentenced to be hanged, Cliff saves Amanda and intends to take her to her mother's place.

Why didn't I give it 5 stars but 4 stars instead?

The reasons are as follows:

1. Sometimes Amanda is too "cheap" and offers to sleep with the hero right away. Fortunately, Cliff is very respectful and always refuses when Amanda makes such offers.

2. There are times when Amanda seems like a very small child (which is understandable as she is only 17 years old).

Anyway, the ending is very sweet, and I became interested in reading Brenda Joyce's works. Even Lisa Kleypas recommended her books.

This story has its own charm and drawbacks, but overall, it's an interesting read that makes me look forward to exploring more of Brenda Joyce's works.

This story didn't start well for me. The protagonist, Amanda, was facing aggression from her father. However, once she overcame that stage and began her journey to London, the novel took a rather nice and traditional turn.

Amanda is a wild girl who lives in Jamaica with her father, John Carre. Her father is executed for piracy, leaving Amanda alone in the world. Desperate, she decides to turn to her platonic love, Cliff de Warenne, whom she has been observing from a distance for years. Cliff is the typical single merchant and owner of several corsairs, with Jamaica as his residence. During a visit to the mayor, he finds out that John Carre will be hanged in a few days.

Thus begins this story of rejections and challenges. Cliff and Amanda give in to an almost impossible love. Their relationship is filled with obstacles and difficulties, but they are determined to overcome them and be together. The story unfolds with twists and turns, keeping the reader engaged until the very end.

A very beautiful and entertaining story, full of emotions, which is extremely engaging and that I couldn't help but love from the very first pages. Could it be that all of that was because it was about pirates and ships and I couldn't resist?

Although I got frustrated with Cliff, I couldn't avoid loving him. He was a wonderful character with a lot of potential. His way of controlling himself brought many smiles to my face. The one with whom I had several disagreements was Amanda. At the beginning, she seemed very fierce, with a lot of character. But as the story progressed, I felt she was very naïve and innocent. I understood her circumstances and reasons, and I justified it by her age. But I couldn't help but feel frustrated. She idolized Cliff, had no dignity, and was too enchanted. She didn't use reason and it frustrated me a lot. I didn't understand why she was the way she was if she came from a cruel, harsh, and merciless world. It bothered me that at the end, she had these amazing plans like having her own trade and navigation business where she was going to do what she loved the most: sail. But in the end, they set it aside and never touched on the topic again. They gave the impression that Amanda wanted to make her own way, have a source of income, and they didn't give it to her. It bothered me a lot. Anyway, I applaud the entire romance. The protagonists didn't have to put themselves in a life-threatening danger to realize that they loved each other because I hate that plot device. But here it didn't happen and I loved that.

This is an entertaining and passionate novel.

However, I think the love of the protagonists needed more development and there is some fluff on some pages.

Despite that, it is engaging and I have really enjoyed it.

The story has its ups and downs, which keep the reader hooked from start to finish.

The characters are well-developed and their emotions are palpable.

Although there are a few不足之处, they do not overshadow the overall quality of the novel.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good romance or an exciting adventure.

It is a great read that will leave you with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart.

Overall, I give this novel a thumbs up and look forward to reading more from the author in the future.

OK, it's a rather cliched story. The heroine is the daughter of a pirate. She is often seen climbing the rigging and engaging in sword-fighting. Then she is taken to London and transformed into a lady. At least no one mistakes her for a boy, and she is only 17 years old. In its own kind, it is well done. Moreover, her character truly suits Cliff, who would never have been content with an ordinary woman. And since this is a long family saga, he has to be paired off.

However, there is just one thing that puzzles me. How on earth did they manage to sail beneath Tower Bridge in 1820? The darned thing wasn't even built for another 70 years! This seems like a major oversight or perhaps a creative license that stretches the boundaries of believability. It makes one wonder if the author was so focused on the romance and adventure aspects of the story that they overlooked this historical inaccuracy. Nevertheless, despite this flaw, the story still manages to hold some charm and entertainment value.

Issu de la série des « De Warenne », Lady Flibuste is actually the 4th volume, but it can be read independently of the others or in a different order. Finally, I assume... Even though I had the others in my PAL, I didn't feel any particular concerns starting with this one.

Here we have a story set against a backdrop of piracy (a slight backdrop, mind you, don't imagine embarking on a story full of battles between pirates and corsairs!). The starting point of the romance is an element that, I admit, interested and intrigued me from the start, that is, a love story between a 17-year-old girl and an older man (well... he's not even 30 years old, mind you!). Ah... my adolescent fantasy... Meeting a handsome and virile man, embodying protection and passion... In short, it's a theme I really like (even today when I'm no longer 17 years old! Strange...).

This very young girl, Amanda Carre, also known as "the Savage," comes to beg the governor for her father's acquittal as he is about to be hanged for acts of piracy. Abandoned by her mother and having only her father to take care of her, she is willing to go to any lengths to plead her case. She will even offer her favors to the governor to prevent the hanging. But the presence of Captain Cliff de Warenne in the governor's office on the same day will put her plan in jeopardy. A notorious libertine, Cliff will find himself as Amanda's protector, driven by the need to keep her safe and by this irresistible and inconvenient attraction that prevents him from staying away from the young girl.

So yes, I like these romantic stories where the heroine is young (within the reasonable limits, of course, and in relation to a specific historical context!) and naive, and who eventually falls in love with the handsome and experienced hero. Far from accepting his attraction, Cliff will even fight it, as he is rather the type to be attracted to more mature (God bless the romances!!) and distinguished women. This incessant struggle he will wage to prevent the young and beautiful Amanda from getting into his bed is very pleasant to read. We follow his questioning, his weaknesses, and sometimes his reason will be drowned in the torments of his desire for her.

As the pages turn, we discover this love that is born, grows, but remains impossible. The honor and duty that reside in Cliff will be so many barriers that will prevent him from declaring his love. Amanda, who knows nothing about love and who sees her salvation only in becoming the mistress of her benefactor, will try by all means to invite herself into his bed. Poor Cliff will have a hard time restraining himself in the face of her advances...

In order to allow her to reunite with her mother, the woman who "left" her with her father when she was just a little girl, Cliff will do everything to transform Amanda into the distinguished and well-born young girl she has the right to be. And this is what bothered me the most in the story... This desire that everyone will have, Amanda herself, to change her completely, to make the "Savage" into a young woman worthy of London's high society. Having lived her first 17 years with her father, on board a pirate ship with all that implies, she has forged a strong character, with a capacity for navigation and combat above that of some men. I didn't quite understand this determination to make her someone else, a fragile little thing, as if a man like Cliff could only yield to a young woman with aristocratic manners. For the sake of romance, we'll overlook this...

But despite this, this story is very enjoyable to read. I suddenly have a great desire to take out the other volumes of this series from my PAL.
